To be fair, Sasha had wanted a pet rat for quite a while. It was only when she saw an ad for a free rat, with cage, bowls, and some extra food and bedding - someone was moving and couldn't take care of it anymore - that she finally acted on this desire. The rat was a dumbo rat named Sophie. The rat was already half a year old, and pretty laid-back. Sasha was excited from the moment she saw the rat to when she brought it home.

prompt (1 or 2): Sam found her rat a few months ago, on her birthday.

It was her birthday today, but of course everyone forgot about it. She knew that wasn't very abnormal, since everyone was always so busy with their own lives. She was nineteen going on twenty, and who needed a birthday when you are an adult? She was crestfallen at the thought, but pushed it away. A 'happy birthday, Sam!' or a 'Happy twentieth' from someone would be nice. But no, she was stuck here, in her apartment, walling in her own 'they forgot my birthday' pity. She crossed her arms as she sat down on her couch, when she suddenly heard a small squeak. She lifted her head, and looked towards the corner of her room. There sat a little rat, shivering and alone. She frowned, taking pity on the small creature. She got to her feet, and when she neared, it cowered, but did not run. She picked it up, and cradled it like it was a small infant. She brought it to her bathroom and washed it off, and got it a cookie before sitting down on the couch again and turning on the tv. As the little rat munched away, she smiled "You lonely too, buddy?" She asked. The rat squeaked, and she smiled lightly "Well, we can celebrate my birthday together! Just us, watching netflix" She laughed. All in all, it had to be one of her best birthdays yet, and that was the day she met her best friend.

prompt (1 or 2): Carlise found her pet rat when she heard a ruckus from the school bathroom and found him struggling to swim in the toilet bowl with a broken leg. She rinsed him off and smuggled him home where she nursed him back to health. Carlise admittedly lied about where she got him to her parents under the guise she pity bought him at the local pet store since they'd never let a sewer rat in their house, but ended up able to keep him. She named him Shade after one of her favorite goth makeup brands, and often keeps him with her in her pocket or on her shoulder. He grew to a large size from his wild heritage but remains tame, although fiendishly smart, able to do several tricks such as litter box training, squeaking on command, and coming when called.

Intoxicated, Lyndz slipped over her own tiny paws, letting out a bark of laughter as she lifted her head to see what her friend was pointing at.
This wasn't the first - and certainly wouldn't be the last - time she'd gotten intoxicated (see - blackout drunkw) ith this group of newfound friends. As soon as she'd turned 21, they'd dragged her around to every bar possible, showing her all the wondrous things involving being drunk and having friends. This time, the group had gone to a pizza parlor late at night - the things in question was a rat holding a huge slice of pizza between its sharp little teeth.
She laughed, crouching down to be at eye level with the terrified rat, holding out a piece of crust for it to bite. The rat beckoned forwards, till it was nearly in her paws.
"Hey, little guy." She whispered conspiratorially, "Wanna be my new friend?"
The rat squeaked indignantly, making everyone laugh. Sure enough, Lyndz did end up making a new friend after all.

(This is a developing story, so you're in for more than just a #2 prompt! :3)

When Rudi was a little girl, she had always wanted a fellow friend. She was thinking maybe a nice cougar her age, or even a snake. Only problem was, she was a runt. She was the youngest of her family of 6, and she never got the best in her family. She always wore hand-me-downs. As well, she never slept with her parents, because her bigger sister always slept with them when she wanted to.

Her social life was impacted by this family. Her sisters, always using her accounts. Her parents, giving her no extra time just because her sister took the computer from her. It was horrible! She was made fun of at school because of her family's history at school. Her 3 other siblings all had made some history at school, and she did nothing at all except get good enough grades.

Throughout the years, Rudi had a few friends, but she never could hold onto them since they were interested in other girly stuff. Rudi was always more of a goth type. She once got ear piercings, but was rounded for that, so she got a toung pier

When Rudi moved out after high school, she went and moved to the major city of Shong Hi in Furtopia. She went to a hair, fur, and feather treatment college where she studied for a few years to become a pro fur stylist!

She worked at a small salon in the city, and still is!

One day, she was walking home from work. She was hungry as always, so she rode her bike over to her favorite drive-in and got a medium fries and a vanilla shake w/ extra whipped cream, the usual. She finished the shake and carried the extra fries hope in her basket on her bike with her phone and keys.

When on her usual 18 block bike ride home, she spotted something moving in an ally. She decided to check it out. she didn't excatly know what creature it was, but she figured it was one of those "base animals", where they were an orignal of the creature.
-(A "base animal" is a creature not found in Furtopia. It is found in other regions. Sometimes, these animals are put up for adoption as the well know "pet". You buy them at an every day store, but there is only 2-5 known pet stores in Furtopia. Most Furtopians don't adopt these pets, for fear they're awkward to adopt another species. Some do though! These pets are not related to any other animals in Furtopia!)-

She fed it some fries, and realized it was a rat! It was missing fur in some places and shivering. Rudi immediately took it home, washed it up, and fed it some veggies.

The next day, she took off work and went to return this pet to the pet store up the block. They told her it was going to be put down since it had been missing for a while, so she adopted it to keep it out of it's misery. She named her Reddi, for the color of her own fur style.

She loves her rat, and sometimes, she brings her to work! Rudi couldn't ever loose her rat! She loves her so much! :3

prompt: he actually met his pet rat at a concert, because even though it was a good rock concert, it was pretty much low budget.

he was walking out of the concert area after it was over and stepped on the poor rat's tail. he pretty much freaked, but realized that the rat wasn't trying to attack him so he took that rat into his own hands and brought him home, fixed his tail up and brought him home and loved him forever
