pet: alyssa's forgetful tendencies lead to pets being forgotten and not cared for--it's no surprise that she doesn't have animal pets. instead, alyssa came up with a solution--a cactus. since cacti don't always need to be watered, she can forget water sometimes and not affect the plant, which is ideally the right pet for her. alyssa actually named the cactus "spikey" as well (she's not very good at names) and decorates the pot every now and then with little sparkly streamers and stars.
