name : This kalon's birth name is Sylvie DelMonte, but her childhood friends nicknamed her Treecat (after the Eastern Screech Owls she loved so much) and she's stuck with that nickname ever since.
gender : female
personality : Treecat is a nature-loving kalon. She has a sweet and friendly disposition, always leaping to help anyone who needs it. She also has a competitive streak, becoming extremely win-orientated over even small things, like a game of scrabble. She's mildly obsessed with falconry and tends to hoard small objects.
accessory : a small ribbon, thread, string, or rope tied around each of her paws. these represent important kalons she knew as a child but has since lost contact with.
shred of a purple bandanna - gracie - Gracie was Treecat's first girlfriend. They met during a sporting event that Treecat can barely remember -- softball, maybe? Each kalon was given a bandanna, with the color corresponding to their team. Treecat had a green bandanna, while Gracie had purple. The two dated for three months, and later broke up due to Gracie having to move. As a parting gift, they exchanged bandannas. Treecat wears a strip of Gracie's bandanna to remember her first relationship.
paperclip chain - philip - Soon after Gracie moved, Treecat became much closer to her best friend, Philip. He was a tough little kalon, despite his advanced brain cancer, and often bent paperclips out of shape when he was bored. Treecat used to follow him around and collect the paperclips he left behind, and kept them in a little box under her bed. Since Philip didn't have a cell phone, they couldn't really stay in contact over the summer. He never came to school the following year, and nobody is quite sure why.
pink ribbon smeared with eyeliner - david - After Philip presumably moved, David became Treecat's closest friend. He was an intelligent, fashion-forward kalon who almost always seemed to be wearing eyeliner. He was extremely blunt, rude, and a bit toxic to Treecat, but she ignored that. She clung to him and told him all her closest secrets, and comforted him when he was upset. When he cried, he dried his eyes on a pink ribbon that Treecat kept in her purse, leaving behind eyeliner stains. Eventually, Treecat realized how toxic David was, and cut him out of her life.
feathered bracelet - olive - Olive, or Birdie, as Treecat called her, was a wandering girl. She loved to explore, daydream, and could never stay grounded. Treecat admired this and the pair would often hike together, watching the wildlife. Eventually, when they were towards the end of their teenage years, Olive decided she needed to travel farther. She dropped a bracelet made of feathers tied together in Treecat's window while she slept and took off, never to be heard from again.
rope with frayed knots - cherry - Cherry was a sad but kind kalon. When feeling sad - which was almost always - she would tie knots in a small peice of rope that she carried with her. Treecat would often try to cheer her up, as she was very lovely when happy, but it rarely worked. After years of trying, Cherry began to feel bad for bringing Treecat down. She gave her one of the knotted ropes and stopped talking to her.
silver chain with cactus charm - rufi - Rufi was an important part of Treecat's childhood. While her own parents were not the best, Rufi was always there with advice and guidance. He collected cacti, and often had cuts on his paws from trying to pet them. He and Treecat simply stopped talking one day. In tribute to Rufi, Treecat bought a silver chain with a cactus charm.
