Āśā, which means hope in Bengalian, is a bundle of oddity and awkwardness, but she is a joy to be around none-the-less. She often makes terrible puns and jokes whenever given the chance and in all photos she tries to keep the most awkward face she can muster for two reasons. The first is to make others laugh. She loves the merry sound that others make when the joy bubbles out in the form of a laugh. Whether it contains a snort, gasp, weezing, or just sounds awfully weird, she loves all laughs. The second is that, beneath her courageous and humorous actions, Āśā is extremely insecure about herself. She hides this through her jokes and faces, and often manages to fool herself, though it never lasts long. One thing that Āśā hates is tears. She hates seeing others cry, or others seeing her cry. She somehow manages to get even more awkward when tears are involved and often tries to crack a few joke to change the mood. Most don't catch on to what she is trying to do though, and just think she is being the regular old jokester Āśā. In all reality, Āśā hates tears because they make her feel weak and lowly, which makes her insecurity shine through her veil of jokes and courage. Āśā is the kind of Plumerian who will willingly put herself down both emotionally and physically in order to uplift another.

-Companion-
Āśā's companion and best friend is a ferret and
mongoose hybrid the size of a banana
named Yani.
Art
Yani has a wild and feisty personality and often
finds entertainment in playfully
gnawing on Āśā's ears or feathers. She often rides
on Āśā's head or shoulders, leaping down only when
sighting something of interest such as a colorful
bug or delicious looking berries. Yani, as far as Āśā
is aware, is the only one who knows exactly how
unstable she actually is. When Āśā begins to break
down, Yani tries to comfort her with soft yips and
licks to the nose, though she can't do much more for
her companion.

Āśā padded along the narrow dirt trail with a skip in her step. The wilderness was alive with the melodious ringing of the tropical birds that perched high in the treetops or swept through the sky in streaks of stunning colors. On her shoulder, Yani sat, eyeing the birds above intently. Her tail twitched from time to time and she had to wipe drool from her jaw on occasions when her eyes locked onto a few berries that were too high for her reach. Ãśā began to whistle as she trotted along the path. Foliage began to cover the red-brown dirt as she ventured further into the dense forest. Yani coiled up nervously at the sighting of a python that slowly climbed a tree branch. She squeaked softly and nestled up against Āśā's scruff, who laughed lightly in respons. "Don't worry, Yani! I won't let 'em get you. They're no match for me!" At the last word, she took a leap foreword and landed with her chest fur puffed and her head held high. Yani squeaked and nipped her shoulder, but Āśā wasn't phased. Yani's nips were something she had grown accustomed to, and even took a slight comfort in them. It meant that she could still feel something, and that her friend had not abandoned her yet. "Now, we are almost there! Don't you want some fruit?" Yani raised her head slightly before letting out a sharp hiss and curling up once more. "Oh you're such a child, Yani." Yani mimicked her vocal pitch through little squeaks and grumbled slightly. Āśā laughed lightly, but cut the sound off sharply as an odd scent wafted through the wind. Immediantly, her features appeard to grow darker. She lowered her head and shoved her ears foreword, eyeing beyond the trees with wolf-like awareness. She stalked foreword intently, her nose inhaling the scent deeply. "I know you're there... Come out."
____"Do you now?" Āśā jumped and turned sharply to look behind her. From between the trees, a golden Plumeranian with rich brown spots emerged. A chocolate brown bandana with cream swirls hung on her chest, veiling the front of two engraved leather straps that held an odd, narrow muzzled creatures skull with war paint to her shoulder with two feathers held firmly beside it. From the lower strap that wrapped around her stomach, several silver coins tinkled and shimmered with each movement.
____"Oh. You scared me for a second, I thought you were some sort of monster." Āśā laughed loosely, but let it die out at the odd look the Plumerian was giving her. "Is something wrong? Perhaps I have another turkey stuck to my head? It wouldn't be the first time. Once, this-"
____"Stop that." The Pumerians ears flicked back and she narrowed her eyes. Her voice hinted toward anger and slight frustration.
____"P-Pardon? Not a fan of jokes I guess. No worries! But be warned, I'm a fairly
punny Plumerian!" Āśā stood for a moment with her mouth agape in an excited smile as she waited for a laugh or an eye role, but the other Plumerian only bared her fangs. "Okay, okay. I get it, I'll stop. So...why aren't you a fan of jokes?..."
____"Don't get me wrong. I enjoy jokes, just not when they are used for what you use them for."
____"Excuse me?..."
