• Vexx's best friend •
Vexx's best friend is the one who found his abandoned egg, Electra. Ever since he was a newly
hatched Viscling, Vexx knew Electra as his friend, protector, and occasionally as his mother. She saved
him from death, and she was the first one he saw when his egg hatched. Vexx and Electra do basically
everything together, from playing out in the woods, to sleeping, to eating. Vexx will not leave her side,
and has basically become her second son. He still remembers one of the most meaningful memories of her.

• Short Story •
The young Vexx lifted his head weakly from the back of the female Viscet. Her breathing was quiet and
her sides raising and falling with every breath she took. Her tail was curled lightly around the small
Viscling at her side, protecting him from the blistering cold from outside. Vexx quietly slipped away
from her protective hold, and stepped tentatively out into the whipping wind and swirling snow flakes.
The enormous pine trees towered over the entrance to the underground cavern, and tiny Viscling. He
shook as he ended up chest deep in the snow. Vexx clawed his way through the frozen blanket, his eyes
closing to a slit as snow whipped into his face. He occasionally had to jump through giant drifts, and
would fall face first into the snow. Vexx soon came to an edge on the mountain, and peered over into
the dark.

The world below was blanketed in a gorgeous, almost formal white. It hung off trees, pulling their
branches to the ground, bushes hidden beneath the sparkling snow. The lake at the bottom of the
mountain was frozen over, the ice glistening up, the gleaming inviting him to go down to it. Vexx
began his descent down the steep incline, slipping and sliding as he lost his grip numerous times.
He soon was skidding too fast to grab onto anything, and he ended up flipping over onto the frozen
lake. The ice beneath his body gave out a low groan, a spiderweb of cracks shooting out from under
Vexx. The last thing Vexx saw was the body of Electra charging toward him before he was swallowed
up into the freezing water. His eyes clenched shut as he thrashed in the icy confines of the water, his
mouth and nose filled with water. Every sound was muffled, the sound of water sloshing around him
and his heart pounding in his ears was the only thing he could dominantly here. Suddenly, jaws clamped
around his scruff and Vexx was yanked above the surface. He opened his mouth, water pouring from his
jaws and nostrils, his eyes stinging. He gave a pitiful cry as Electra dove through the breaking ice to
get to the surface. He clung to her chest fluff to stay warmed, his breath freezing in the air in a white
cloud. Vexx soon lost conscious, and soon awoke to find himself cuddled in Electra's fur in the cave. He
felt the bodies of the other pack members curled around the two of them, to keep them warm and safe.
