Why: Mable is fascinated with poisons of all kinds, and rhubarb is one of particular interest to her. Rhubarb leaves contain oxalic acid, which can cause many strange ailments. Consuming rhubarb leaves can cause breathing difficulty, eye pain, kidney stones, vomiting, red urine, and even comas. However, the stalks of the rhubarb plant are harmless, and are actually very nutritious. Mable finds this amazing, and will eat the tart desert whenever she gets the chance.

Why:
When she was a little voxxie, she wandered out of her family's forest home and into a human city. She managed to skirt all the humans, and explored a bit, but soon became hungry. She smelled something cooling in a window, and raced over, leaping up and trying to reach it. Being small, she couldn't quite get her mouth around it, nor could she reach it with her paws. She found a box and pushed it over, leapt atop it, and then jumped again. Finally, she'd gotten the pie! It fell down on top of her, completely covering her from head-to-toe in its filling. She felt like she was in heaven, and ate the entire thing. She kept the tin it had been baked in, as she couldn't quit figure out how to flip it off of her, and then she smelled her way back to her forest home. Upon arrival, her parents got her out and fussed over her, but Jam wanted to keep the tin, even though her parents thought that was a most absurd idea. Ever since then, Jam has loved all types of pies, and will often sneak into the human dwelling place to pilch some, though she doesn't do this very often. Her favorite pie remains the meat pie because of her past - the first pie she'd ever tasted as a meat pie, and the experience has always been a good one. Her love of pies stemmed from that one happenstance, so it makes sense that her favorite pie is still the first pie she ever tasted.
