Story:
It was a cool spring night, the only sound in the small town of Nightvale being the rustle of the leaves. The silence was broken by loud voices.
"Mum! I don't want to go!" A lovely British accent filled the quiet air, pushing it away causally.
"Lilith Bea Jeffords, I am not arguing with you about this. Put your coat and mask on and get your rump in the car, now!" A more stern, thicker British accent followed.
The other voice, known as Lilith, groaned, but the sound of a door slamming and a sigh followed, causing Nightvale to be at peace again.
The two voices were Liltih and Rosette Jeffords, mother and daughter. The family (Rosette, Jak and Lilith) had been invited to go to a masquerade ball, held by the owners of the lad, Almandine and his mate, Belle. They all had to wear masks to hide their faces and coats to hide their pelts. You didn't know who was who and that made suspicion common.
Lilith was in her room, fixing her mask and coat. Her mask was black, but had linings of glittery gold and slight silver. Her hood was mostly the same. The coat covered her mane, shoulders, slight torso and a hood was also there, ending just on her cheeks and just above her mask.
"Lilith, honey, we're leaving." Rosette's voice echoed upstairs to her daughter's bedroom. Letting out a large sigh, Lilith nodded, "Coming!" Then, she tromped down the stairs.
"Where's Father?" Lily asked, head tilting. "He had to work. Sorry sweetie." Rosette assured, before rushing out, "Come on!"

Deciding not to socialize as soon as she separated from her mother, she moved to an edge of the ballroom and sat down, her eyes scanning over the room.
After a few minutes, a voice that wasn't hers broke the silence she held. "May I have this dance?" It was a low voice, obviously male. Lilith turned, gaping at the green and silver mask.
"Y-yeah." She stuttered, getting up and taking the fellow Viscets hand. They moved to the dance floor and started to take part in a slow, swift dance.
All during the dance, Lilith couldn't stop staring into those captivating green eyes. It just sucked her in and she couldn't let go.
Finally, the two parted as the night ended and Lilith was shoved out the door before she could say goodbye. Ever since that night, Lilith promised she would go to other masquerades held.
