"This sign doesn't really suit me, I guess. I've read up on the sign, and I'm not like one at all. Sure, I'm an odd fellow and I like solving things, but I'm not that smart and I don't ever want to lead. It's not like I have the power to really change anything either."
favorite tradition;
Cleaning
"Before the New Year, everyone takes a day to clean and scrub every corner of the house. I'm a neat freak, so I adore helping people clean their homes so they don't have any bad spirits left in their home. It's always nice to know that you helped a family be rid of all of the bad luck and to appease the gods."
extra;
"I try not to judge people as I am quite screwed up myself."

name;
Howin
gender;
Female
zodiac sign;
Dragon

Howin's zodiac sign could not be more precise when it comes down to her personality and actions. Ever since the dancer had given her the ribbons, jade dragon tail bangle, and shawl, she had a determination she had never felt before. Day and night she stays awake, working to achieve her goals with a shinning heart, hardworking nature, and an enthusiasm like no other. Nothing is able to get in her way or slow her down. When she sets her sights on something, you can be sure that this ambitious Viscet will get it done. When it comes down to telling others the truth, she's plain and straightforward. She doesn't like sugar coating anything and often states things as they are. This leads her to being her biggest critique in more ways than one, and thus she often puts herself down more than others. Howin is rather intelligent and can often find her way out of nearly any predicament. She uses this intelligence to adapt to new forms of dance and to memorize her performances by heart.

favorite tradition;

As a viscling Howin would always celebrate the Lunar New Year with her family and watch the festivities. What caught her eye way more than the fireworks and shadow puppet plays were the traditional dances. She was filled with courage and determination when she saw the lion dancers preform and felt admiration and awe when she watched the ribbon dancers at the parade. At the end of one performance a female viscet who had the role of princess had danced a solo and saw Howin and other visclings gather around the edge of the stage decided to gracefully dance over and give some of the visclings small dance ribbons as a souvenir. Howin felt disappointed as she was left out with a silk bag as a souvenir but swallowed her envy and thanked the viscet and ran over to her parents so they could go home. Later that night when everyone else was asleep she snuck out of her room with the silk bag and opened it. Inside was a carved jade dragon tail bangle with some gold bands with ribbons attached to the bands and bangle and the shawl that the female viscet had used during the preformance! Howin couldn't believe her eyes at the sight of them. Then she realized what she needed to do and waited until morning to tell her parents that she wanted to become a dancer. They saw a flame of determination in her eyes and agreed to let her pursue the dream and took her to a place where she could learn to dance. She struggled a lot at first and the other visclings made fun of her because she would mostly trip and fall when she practiced but as days went by she slowly but steadily improved her dancing.

extras;

Left, and right- no. That's not right... Howin pursed her lips and gazed sternly at the mirror. Right, and back and- no! No, Howin! Your doing it wrong! Howin stamped a paw and let out a puff of air in frustration. She began take off the golden bands that held her tail ribbons, no longer having the patience or willingness to practice. She shoved the tail accessories and shawl back into the silk bag and picked it up, turning away to leave before stopping and staring with wide-eyes at a Viscet she failed to notice. The black and red Viscet watched her with a slight frown while all Howin could do was stare in shock. "Wh-who are-?!"
"Xuikcho. I saw you dancing.. Why did you stop? It looked so graceful-"
"It wasn't. There were too many mistakes and I'm a disgrace." Not that I'm not already that...
"Your not a disgrace. If I knew you, I'd be proud."
"Well that makes one." Howin pushed past Xuikcho and left, returning to her now abandoned home. Xuikcho watched her for a moment before sighing.
Howin plowed past the dazzling trees and swaying bushes she formerly gazed at with wonder. Today, she didn't even give them a second glance. It felt as though they were mocking her, swaying with more elegance than she would ever be able to muster. That's right. You'll never be as graceful as a plant! Howin snarled and kicked one of the bushes.Slightly satisfied, she continued, kicking the bush until it became a mound of leaves and branches. She stood over the mound her paws shaking slightly.
"Are you done?"
Howin's ears flicked up and she backed away, staring at the bush in shock. "W-What?!"
"No. It wasn't the bush."
Howin looked around. "T-then-"
A tall grey and blue Viscet walked toward her, the shadows seeming to melting off of him. He watched her with quiet eyes, a stoic and faintly sad expression on his face as he studied her. "Your a dancer? Must be rough." He then began to give her a lecture then left.
Howin paused and dwelled on the lecture. I make so many mistakes... I'm a disgrace to the dancer if I don't quit. Yet... What he said... I'll be a disgrace if I do... Howin closed her eyes and shook her head slightly, uncertain of what to do and chased after him.

...name; Ai-shi (meaning, being fond of poetry)...
...gender; Female...
...zodiac sign; Horse (active, energetic, kind, rational, optimistic, sentimental, and straightforward)...
favorite tradition; Ah, the theater. Theater means so very much to Ai-shi. She attends as many performances as she can throughout the year, as well as having a budding career in it, but at the New Year Celebration, there's one thing she will never miss; the parade, a form of theater in it's movement.
extras; *below* This is a poem her mother wrote for her, before an untimely death.

Beneath the blossoming tree of peach,
Lend me your ear,
to you I shall teach.
I need you to know,
I love thee so,
the heavens cannot keep us apart.
I'm letting you know,
the winds may toss to and fro,
but I swear,
with them you can grow!
Your mind growing sharper,
Your heart filling with strength.
Let my winds raise you up.

name;
Sakura no blossm
(cherry blossom in japanese)

gender; female

zodiac sign; Aries - The Ram
March 21 - April 19
Aries people are creative, adaptive, and insightful. They can also be strong-willed and spontaneous (sometimes to a fault). Aries people can be driven and are very ambitious often making them over-achievers in anything they set their mind to tackle. Aries are fire signs, and so too is their personality. They may be quick to anger, but don't take it personally, it's just their fiery, passionate personalities showing through. Aries signs have excellent sense of humor, and they get along with almost everyone at the party (and they DO know how to party). Aries can be impatient, but we love them anyway because they are devoted friends, lovers and family members - they are loyal to then end and will fight for their causes (usually supporting the underdog).

chinese zodiac: Dragon
The Dragon’s Personality: Confident, Intelligent...
Among Chinese zodiac animals, the Dragon is the sole imaginary animal. The Dragon is the most vital and powerful beast in the Chinese zodiac, although with an infamous reputation for being a hothead and possessing a sharp tongue. In ancient times, people thought that Dragons could control everything in the world with their character traits of dominance and ambition.
Gifted with innate courage, tenacity and intelligence, dragons are enthusiastic and confident. They are not afraid of challenges, and willing to take risks.
However, the dragon is sometimes regarded as aggressive, and angry dragons are not open to criticism. They don't consider themselves irritating and arrogant. Instead of following tradition, they strive for a smooth future.

favorite tradition; she has several favorites
Fireworks

Fireworks are used to drive away the evil in China. Right after 12:00PM on New Year's Eve, fireworks will be launched to celebrate the coming of the New Year as well as to drive away the evil. It is believed that the person who launched the first firework of the New Year will obtain good luck.

Shou Sui

Shou Sui means "after the New Year's Eve dinner" as family members will normally stay awake during the night. Some people just stay up until the midnight after the fireworks. According to tales and legends, there was a mythical beast named the "Year". At the night of New Year's Eve, the "Year" will come out to harm people, animals, and proprieties. Later, people found that the "Year" is afraid of the color red, fire, and loud sounds. Therefore, at the New Year's Eve night, people will launch fireworks, light fires, and stay awake the whole night to fend off the "Year".

Red Packets

The Red packet is a red envelope with money in it, which ranges from one to a few thousand Chinese Yuan. Usually the red racket is given by adults, especially married couples, and elderly to young children in the New Year days. It was believed that the money in the red packet will suppress the evil from the children, keep them healthy, and give them a long life.

extras; (optional) thank you so much and chinese zodiac was added as extra
