What does this Viscet do for a living?:
Noctus is a writer, and a part time photographer. He also paints, but only as a hobby. He has written more than 5 novels, but published only two and a couple of short stories because of his shyness. He fears that the editors will laugh at him or force him to change so much of the story so it is like any other. He writes third and first person northern animal life, fiction. Sometimes, he writes about how he met an animal and makes a short story about it.
Noctus prefers to use a high graphic camera so he can capture the beauty of his homeland and let it free in others. He does not charge for the photos he ships around the world, but many people give him back gifts to shore their thankfulness. He photographs the animals, the landscape, and the northern lights he was named for, doing it so well, it even captures the stark beauty and the loneliness yet not lonely feeling of being so close to nature, without the ordinary distractions of busy life.
Noctus also paints, although badly, but he strives to get better. He hopes one day his paintings can be as captivating as his pictures...
Favorite movie and why:
Rio, because he likes the startling complete opposite of his own world and Blu the parrot's although he knows the places are real and on his Earth. He plays it all the time on his old tv (powered by the solar panels on his roof), so much he now knows all the lines and the things that are going to happen. Sometimes it even makes him laugh out loud, a rare thing.
History:
Noctus hatched alone, in a small cave. When he looked outside, the northern lights were putting on a splendid show for him. Half an hour later, another Viscet found him still captivated by the lights and carried him home with her, naming the little one Noctus Caelum for what he was gazing at from birth and the stunning patterns on his hide.
When he was a little pup, other Viscets whispered about him behind his back because he had a rare mutation that made him look like a wooden figure of a Viscet instead of a real one, although he was alive. It was because of this that prompted Noctus to move into his mental shell, protecting against the comments so they could not hurt him. Not long after that, he started turning to books to make up for the loss of socialism, and in turn, created his own, always about the north, where he was born, and where he thought - no, knew. - where he would finally belong. When was old enough to get a job, he worked tirelessly, determined to get enough money to make his home in the wild north.
Years later, Noctus moved to the north, in the arctic circle. Highly unusual, but he lived on the edge of the the Taiga, the world's largest coniferous forest, so he could go hunting and scavenging when needed. He built the house, a cottage really, himself, putting solar panels on the roof to power everything. It has spare furnishing, only a fireplace, a desk with a chair, and a couch bed in the tiny house. He liked the confines. He was paranoid about things sneaking up on him, and the layout made it almost impossible, just like he wanted it. Safe and snug.
He started writing at a young age, having to discard many, many ideas before coming to the perfect one and writing and publishing it. The book, although not so popular, got enough sales to fund the house and himself for a fair bit of time. That is when he started painting and photographing.
To this day, Noctus still continues these hobbies and his writing. He hopes to get more books published soon.
