How Is This Dog Valuable To The Team?: Her leadership and loyalty are the most valuable thing this dog can offer. Her quick reactions make her an amazing guide. Her mental and physical strenght are incredible, sledding or not. She is amazingly careful with her steps, her paws feel the ground and she knows what to do and where to go. Her physical strenght or speed is not uncommon but her resistance is outstanding among other sled dogs, it's like if she wanted to keep running for ever.
Describe How This Dog Feels During a Race/Delivery: Ginger is usually the one that stays clam and searches for ways out of difficult situations. Her biggest passion is to run and feel the cold winds kitting her fur. Delivering packages just makes her day. With a usual cheerful attitude and an amazing quick responce to my calls, this girl became the lead dog. Many people underestimate this female as a leader, males are supposed to be stronger and more obedient. But she tends to prove them wrong as she runs and keeps calm as I call for them to run in the middle of a cold winter morning to deliver packages around the town. Though during a starting storm she gets anxious and nervous. She Hates storms, like srain but not storms.

Young, energetic, and antsy. These qualities weren’t exactly helpful for Allou when getting into the sled pulling business. But her strong blood line and her father’s search and rescue achievements made many mushers look to her with high hopes, only to be disappointed by the playful pup. She’d been passed a few times before finding the Kelpies Musher, a fresh face and high hopes for a team.

Even with all her work and hopes, the musher had a tough time getting Allou into the team. She was full of bad habits from not being hooked up for long periods. As a point, she got excited and would try and keep too fast a pace, or if with an older dog, got into growling matches and had to be moved. As a wheel, her excitement was put to excellent use, her strength and need to go attitude was able to start the sled fantastically; however she was scared of the sled hitting her, leading her to pull off to the side and tangling the dogs in front of her with the lines. As a team dog, she had to be placed strategically, to get her around dogs that were more patient with her energy. After one try, it was certain she wasn’t lead dog material, considering she got excited and would tangle lines with dramatic turns or slip from her collar.

With time and getting used to the team, Allou found herself a valuable member by being maneuverable! Through the musher trying to reintegrate her into the team and the work, she was put into nearly all the positions to find the best. When setting up the team, Allou is generally set as a Right Swing dog, but either side or running singular is a possibility. As a swing dog, it’s her job to keep the team taking turns with an arc, rather than drama turns. But when something occurs, she can be moved into the wheel position, though the musher has to take caution to keep her in line. Or in larger teams, she can serve as a team dog, serving as the brawns of the group to help move larger sleds and more gear.

Of course, there are still times where the dogs don’t get along, as is natural, but many of the negative habits that Allou had learned from a year of bad owners are beginning to fade or be worked away. The team, once a rowdy bunch that were new to one another, will grow together and moving within the team will be more of ease to Allou, though she’ll always find herself enjoying the swing position. Who wouldn’t?! There are less butts in the way of the gorgeous view of the Arctic!

Maybe you weren’t the best at a lot of things. You were better at fetching stick, and running circles around the other dogs, but you didn’t want to be a normal house dog, you’d had stories of great races in your head of your mom and her team. You always wished you could follow in her pawsteps.

Each new team you were moved to seemed to sour the sport. One place had aggressive males that lunged to bite if you weren’t moving fast enough, another was so strong that the sled began to scare you after getting hit several times; the last had a mean handler that tethered you on a short leash after he grew frustrated and wouldn’t run you.

It seemed to be forever until a new team brought your spirit back. It was hard to get readjusted to the sport, especially with the habits you’d picked up in the previous months. You were anxious, shifting your paws and pulling on the tug lines to separate from others. It was hard to get you to cooperate as a wheel, especially as the team was trying to get used to one another’s strength. But your musher refused to give up on you.

Training was hard for you; this musher was bigger, the team smaller. But your love for the sport was renewed, all that nervous energy was put to work, determination flooded your veins, and you could run for ages! When the opportunities appear for you to be helpful, you set your best paw forward. While waiting for the races to start, and the team ready, your eyes sparkled in excitement, vocalizing it with little yips and the famous husky talking.

During the races, you feel like flying, the snow kicked up under you and your team’s booties as you try to get ahead of other teams. You had dreamed of winning for days before this, now you were sure you were going to! At every checkpoint you would gobble down your food and relax, but you kept morale up and your teammates giggling with fantasies of future wins and silly faces of slower dogs.

The last stretch is your favorite, it’s when everything matters. Even as a young dog, you still have your restrictions though. It’s the hardest section as every team is straining for the win, doing their best to make it to the end first. The end is love; it’s cheering, head scratches from the vets as they check you over, the big bowl of food, the heat of a nice warm room. The race is exhilarating, but it’s the end that pays off.

The moment we first met Trent, he was shy of being two years old; but wasn't shy of any physical qualities sledding dogs have. It was almost a perfect fit for the sledding team, and he's quite important.
You see, Trent is mainly a wheeler. In different terminology, that'd be a wheel dog. Wheel dogs are the dogs that are closest to the sled: meaning they need strength and consistency to help pull the bulk of the sled's weight. Trent is a huge dog: he's one of the biggest out of his sled team, in fact. Yet unlike the other dogs, Trent runs for a reason other than the pure thrill and rush of the snow and getting the job done. Now, its not like Trent doesn't like the snow: in fact, he really loves it! However, the true reason why Trent is a wheeler has to do with something more... 'personality' based. Its partially his size combined with his pure muscle and power that makes him such a good sled dog, but also due to something else: Trent's anxiety.[/list][/list][/size]

[size=85][list][list]Trent is a really nervous dog, something we knew from the moment we laid eyes on him. While he gets along with the team when necessary and cooperates smoothly, Trent prefers to go off and sit by us, the mushers, instead of by the other dogs. Despite his partially secluded and isolated tendencies, Trent is literally this ball of energy and anxiety. He tends to get protective and worried all the time, and you can tell just by looking at him how bad it is. Nothing really helps except the sledding; because boy oh boy, does Trent [i]love[/i] to work and get his mind off of things! With him being a wheel dog and the occasional team dog, Trent calms down tremendously and its obvious just by sight how at ease he is. He's incredibly valuable with his amazing drive and willpower, not to mention the pure amounts of energy he puts into the sledding he does! Trent just loves being able to get his energy out, and even sometimes boosts the moral of the rest of the dogs, which is sometimes a miracle in-of-itself after long days in the cold and unforgiving snow.

Trent is especially valuable to the team. Despite his anxiety and occasional moments of anti-social tendencies, Trent is overall a very good sled dog. He's incredibly hardy and adaptive, not to mention his incredible perseverance and hope is unwavering. Its enough to inspire the other dogs and the mushers ourselves sometimes! Trent is incredibly loyal and protective of all of the team, and his strengths make up for his faults. Without Trent, we might just be stuck and stranded after all: but with him, we work like a well oiled machine.
Each dog knows his place, and even Trent knows his place is right here as a wheeler with us.

Also each one of those songs, for some reason this is how I know which one suits him.. it's weird.. I pretty much listen to the song I think might suit him and I also read over my application and look at his image, if I get goosebumps than it matches him. Those songs suited him as I got goosebumps on them, but the smile one made me very excited and I got some crazy goosebeumps and it was fits him perfectly through my eyes. X3
