This is why there are so many spirits/wisps surrounding him as he has called them and refuses to allow them to pass on to the afterlife. Though the spirits he calls are usually ones who were good, so they were originally white, but upon contact and 'connection' with Karayan they became tainted and corrupted by his madness.
Though if he is strong enough, Karayan can forcefully call spirits who have made it to the afterlife. However this tires him greatly but he finds it extremely satisfying.
Though with these spirits, Karayan can 'feed' off of them for energy and strength. However by doing this he weakens them, and if weakened to much, they vanish from existence completely.

He loves setting things on fire and watching the destruction the flames cause. He loves seeing what fire creates and how it seems to light everything up. He is also a bit mentally unstable so he acts very aggressive at times, overly emotional at other times and always seems to enjoy the fear of others. However he can be easily...'tamed' by tossing water over him. He is terrified of water and getting him wet will keep him away from you.
Apart from the above, he is overly curious and constantly looking for more 'toys'. Toys being new things to set on fire, scare or just something new completely. He is usually incredibly unimpressed by natural landscape but he holds a guilty pleasure of burying himself in soft fabrics. So hide yo clothes or you will find a Karayan inside them.

When he was very little his father would always hold bonfires for friends and family, Karayan always helping to find things to set on fire for the bonfire. He was anti-social towards others however and was extremely clingy towards his father and mother. Karayan eventually became less clingy towards his parents and less anti-social. But as his anti-socialness decreased, he slowly discovered the love of scaring others. He pulled pranks but soon these pranks grew worse. At one point, he even set another hazard's tail on fire.
Eventually his parents grew so worried by his growing pyromaniac tendencies that they hid anything that could cause a fire or was very flammable, and Karayan's father stopped hosting bonfires. However, this simply resulted in Karayan growing restless and being more-so aggressive towards others. But eventually, Karayan grew so stressed he used his breath to light a small fire inside his home which resulted in his house burning down.
However, Karayan used this burning house as an easy way to escape from his life. He ran away before anyone realized he was gone and carried on his ways as he traveled. However, along the way, his mind snapped and he fell into his over-emotional self.

Karayan giggled to himself as he lay on the cave floor. He was hiding in the cave while he listened to the angry cry of the village cats, whom's homes he set fire to. They wouldn't find him, he knew it. And even if they did, he was prepared to scare them to death. His fin arched up in anticipation as he thought about how to scare them if he was found. So many options!
He could set their tails on fire, he could use these souls and wisps to scare them or he could even pretend to have rabies and chase them!
Karayan giggled to himself as he stood up and mewled in anticipation.
Find me! Find me! His mind happily echoed as he padded around the cave.
Though, to Karayan disappointment and anger, no cat even discovered the cave or him! He heard their angry cries tone down into annoyed shouting and panicked meows.
Why! WHY! He angrily yelled in his head.
Why did they not find me?! Why did they have to be so STUPID!!Angrily, Karayan arched his back as he stretched his head low, his fin flattening slightly. If they did not come to him, he would simply go to them.
Grinning viciously, Karayan planned to visit the village again and become the bogeyman for all the kits and elders.
Finding a dry, warm corner in the cave. Karayan curled up tightly, his tail encircling his body as the images of his fin seemed to grow excited as he planned tomorrow night's events.
When the sun arose the next day, Karayan set out to prepare himself. He inspected the village from afar, so no one would catch him watching, and chose the homes with kits. Then silently, he crept around the back of the village and on the houses he planned to visit, he marked an X by a window he knew would be easy to open. Then, he left the village after marking 4 homes. In the forest he then began to find any red berries and stuffed them in a small leaf pouch tied to his middle. Once he collected a heft portion of various red berries, he returned to his cave and waited eagerly for night to fall.
When the sun fell and the moon swiftly rose up, Karayan once again left the cave. He stalked silently to the village and upon arriving, he was careful to avoid any late night wanderers and sneaked to the first house he marked. He pried the window open and climbed inside, his 6 feet barely making a noise as he located the 2 kits. Upon discovering the room that the twins slept in, Karayan prepared himself silently. He burst a few of the red berries in his mouth and then slowly, woke the kits up by shaking them.
When the kits opened their eyes, what they thought they saw was a monster of a hazard cat with souls screaming silently for help while 'blood', fire and smoke poured from its mouth.
Karayan then spoke lowly, more embers and smoke coming from his mouth. " You " he began " will soon meet your... " he then lurched forward and screamed 'end' at the kits. The kits that began screaming for their parents, and Karayan took this for his chance to leave and once he was safely away from the house, he giggled madly as he spat out the burst berries. " Hehe! " he mewled happily, " their little little faces! Wide eyes! Frightened voices! "
Karayan giggled and basked in the joy of the kit's fear before licking his lips, tasting the berry residue, and began heading towards the next home.
He did the same thing with each house but each time shook it up a little bit. With the second house he burst into the kit's room screaming before diving out of the window, with the third he hid in their wardrobe when their parents came in and when they left again, he simply burst out again and giggled at the scared kits before leaving, and with the last house he lightly singed the fur of the kit living there before placing them high up on their wardrobe roof.
Upon returning to his cave, Karayan was a giggling, hiccuping mess. He barely formed coherent words as he pointed out the best parts of tonight to his 'soul buddies'. Collapsing on the floor, Karayan calmed down a bit. " T-that was *hic* brilliant! A-and t-the p-parents *hic* f-faces for the l-last *hic* k-kit! P-priceless! " he giggled out, hiccuping a few more times after speaking.
Soon, exhaustion overtook Karayan and he peacefully fell asleep with tonight's memories replaying over, and over in his head.
