Writing piece [ 500 words or under]: this story will be written in 1st person, from aedus' perspective.
it's 494 words long exactly.
"I had never left the sea before. it was forbidden to leave the sea, due to the unknown dangers. but I was a rebellious child and I wanted to explore. so one morning, when I was between one and two years old, I slipped out of the water. it was far easier than I thought it would be. and wow was it amazing. it was nothing like my home under the water. there were so many differences, and my mind took it all in like a whirlwind. and I loved it. then I neared a wolf pack border because I was growled at by a pretty red fae. she was a around my age. she looked a lot like me, except in the ways that she didn't; she had thick fur, no fins or horns, etc. she tried to scare me off, but I was far too curious about her. she crossed over her border and she warned me that she was far nicer than many of her packmates. she began to ask me about what I was, and of course I explained. we began to talk and quickly became friends. that night, I had to return to my pack. but I told her I would return. and I did. every day for two weeks. however, one day, a horrible thunderstorm began, and she had us hide in a small cave, to get out of the downpour. we were in there for several hours; finally, the rain stopped, although the thunder and lightning continued, so we remained in the cave. but then, we heard the loudest crack of all, saw the lightning strike a tree directly in front of our cave; it caught fire immediately. i didn't know what it was but fear struck me frozen in my spot, but jessa started screaming at me and shoving, trying to get us out of the cave so we could run. but my body had turned practically to dead weight. in this time, the fire had begun to spread, and jessa was beginning to panic. finally, she bit down on my tail, the pain enough to bring me out of my shock, and I was able to bolt from the cave. I just wish I had done it sooner... I had to bolt through a small patch of fire, getting some burns on my paws and underbelly, but when I turned to look for jessa, I saw that the cave was entirely engulfed in the flames; I heard her howls of pain, I saw her body covered in the flames, and then silence. tears filled my eyes; but somehow I bolted back to the beach. I collapsed on the shore, sobbing before my alphas found me. they saw the firey forest and yanked me back into the water. ever since that moment, I have never gone back onto land. so I haven't. to this day, her screaming still haunts my dreams. the fire haunts my nightmares."

Engulfed in flames…that’s how Kai feels when he writes, the overwhelming and fiery urge to create something, when passion strikes it is as if licks on flame are crawling up his limbs, scorching him, waiting for him to write, maddening until he can write out his own relief. Only then will the fire be tamed, It’s like a drug, it’s all consuming and grand, ideas are like ashes, billowing through his mind.

The fire is a feeling, like any other emotion, he uses it to burn his pain away, in words baked into a page, Kai uses this to light his joy, as vibrant as dancing firelight. This is the only way he has ever been able to describe his passion, a brilliant blaze from within his heart.

Writing piece: Soft embers became a large burning inferno of flames right before my eyes as I sat. Looking up to the sky, I see stars and flickers of escaping light. They gave a pleasant glow as they wandered through the dark night, only to die off shortly. I averted my eyes to the other body beside me. A strange character, barely lit by the light was sitting right next to me.
A familiar face whose name was Edan. Coincidentally enough his name meant "Fire" in Celtic which was very interesting. He was a very subtle color of white with red entrails down his chest, A lovely light black mane with horns to which began as red and went to orange then a darker shade of yellow. To my amazement, He had a shark likeliness to which was a bit alarming. His body had strange designs between white being the main base with gray streaks invading almost every inch of his torso to his backside. Why were we here? This strange creature and I?
Edan and I were running from something, something we don't want to bring up but I suppose I shall. We had done something... something unbelievable. Even thinking about it makes me tense with fear. Just, the smell of burning rubber brings me to my knees. We had decided to light up a car, but we hadn't known anyone or thing was in it. It had been sitting there for a while and we were in lots of trouble before the incident. We threw a match in it, and watched as it bursted into flames. After a few seconds, the horrid screams became apparent. It made me instantly nauseous, Edan took the chance to scoop me up on his back and dashed to a car. He shoved me in the driver's seat and told me to just go. As he jumped in the back we started the car and drove. I just... drove.
So that was the story of how we got here. His eyes have started to get a bit cold, I feel as though my eyes have began to go soulless. When this is over i feel like we will not be feeling any true feelings. All Edan and I have is each other and I think we are beginning to acknowledge that.

Edana hums as she cuts up the purple wax with the small knife. Behind her, she can hear the water boiling on the stove behind her. Rain is creating a soft rhythm outside. Edana notices the sun is still out; there will probably be a rainbow.

She finishes cutting up the wax and places it into a bowl that sits in the pot of boiling water. She can already see the wax starting to melt, but it will be awhile before she can actually use it.

In the meantime, she returns to the other candles that have been sitting out; cooling. The wick standing tall and proud from the bright blue candle. She presses a finger to one, finding it perfect. She smiles at her own work.

Edana fumbles around in a drawer, pulling out a small lighter. She flicks it on, watching the fire flicker for a moment before settling.

Edana lifts the candle up with her other hand, touching the flame to the wick only for a moment before it catches.
“Perfect,” she says to herself, feeling content as she always does when she makes the perfect candle.

Writing piece [ 500 words or under]: Everyone knows that fire is beautiful. The sparks and glowing flames never cease to amaze and mesmerize people. People think that that's what fire is all about: the showiness and the glamour.

Jaiden knows better.

Fire is powerful, from the roaring flames down to the tiniest ember. Small sparks is all it takes to start a giant blaze. Careless people will leave a fire smoldering, thinking that what's left couldn't possibly be dangerous. Thinking that the best of the fire show has passed.

Jaiden prefers to wait. He watches the embers crackle and the smoke rise is curls of pale white. He finds comfort in the beauty of the leftovers. He understands. Sometimes the things that people leave behind are the things that are most beautiful.

There he was... facing his greatest fear: Yliaster! Some Makos call his ability like that; others call the destruction after his appearance like that; and some also call HIM like that! Why? Trip doesn't know. He once heard from his grandfather about Yliaster:
It is a great fire, which spreads over hundred, thousands of miles over the landscape. Nothing can escape from it. Many die or lose anything they have because of it. Noone really knows where this fire starts, why it exists and why it doesn't come every year like the stormy rain and the great dry.
A few who had survided those hellish flames say, that they saw a creature with horns, glowing and stinging eyes and a mouth, which swallos everything on it's way with hundreds of knife-like theeth.
It's just a legend because noone of the survivors are still alive because of their age but Trip always had a bad feeling about this!
One day, when he was a teenager, his grandfather told him, that his father looked a lot like him but had much more fire-like marks on him. The whole village ignored him because they thought he would be a descendant of "the great flames". Evil, bloodthirsty and has the willpower to destroy everything and everyone. They never listen to him and didn't let him explain what those marks mean. They banished him and made to leave the village right now... Trip was born a few days later. His mother tried to hide him but one days they found out that he got those marks too.
With the years he learned, that he can make fire with his horns by himself, when he rubbs them against other stones. But unfortunatelly he is a very clumsy one so that many things broke or got destroyed after he tried to show off a little bit.
Now he is more a loner and hides in the forest near the village so that he can visit his mother here and then.
