Favourite instrument: a paraguayan harp, which ani loves to play at dawn, until sundown, never taking a break. In between times they file down their ice, carefully rubbing them against rocks they have smoothed down. Ani uses their teeth to carefully pluck the strings, and they have to work quickly to hit all the right notes. Their tail will thump the side to the beat, and as they play with soothing tones, they sing.

They had found the harp abandoned by a landslide, and taking it home they discovered it made wonderful music, as they pulled the strings Ani slowly learned the high and lows. With their new talent, they decided to share it with the world, playing and singing to their hearts content. Their songs are often laced with a sad slowness, that you could dance to in a ballroom, gently swaying with your partner.

it heard the old folk song ring out across
the hills,
reminding them of the comforts of home.
Everything was strange here, everything
but that tune,
and the determined wail of the soft flute
in the background.
How beautiful everything was in that
moment- serene,
a moment for thoughts, hymns and
silent wishes, unspoken.
The gift of silence, but at the same time,
so loud that every Iquena would wake to
the whirr of the chant.--
