Pallio name: Rutherford
Personality:
Rutherford is a pretty young pallio from the out in the country, living on a farm that is peaceful each day and night. Rut, as he prefers to be called, has never been a pallio to want the spotlight. He rarely puts himself in situations that involve showing himself or his accomplishments off, even at the local county fairs. In any situation he would prefer to watch others receive their earned respect, but that doesn't mean he secretly wants to be acknowledged for his labor. Due to him living close to nature he is extremely calm and happy sitting by himself sniffing the roses. While others might run around and play on a farm, Rut spends his time tending to his garden and watching the sun rise. Rut is a bit of a worrier though, constantly fretting over his vegetables during the first days of sowing, but with his abundance of patience he can usually get over his cares gradually. While he usually thinks every thing through before taking any action, Rutherford understands when a situation is dire and will jump straight in action, though usually in a behind the scenes sort of way. Overall Rut just wishes to be safe and happy, but also to complete his life's goal (discussed later on).

Hobby:
Rutherford's hobby may seem stereotypical considering he has flowers in his mane, but truly it is the one thing he loves above all else, though he does add his own flair. Rut is a gardener. He used to live on a farm and it was his favorite past time while out there to help his mother with the vegetable garden. After he was finally old enough to tend his own he discovered something amazing. When planting flowers of similar but different colored plant species Rut would sometimes get genetically unique creations with both colors combined. From then on he became obsessed with plant genetics, always experimenting with his little peonies to see what new unique species he could create. This even lead to him trying to combine similar fruits and vegetables as the infamous tangelo, though these have yet to turn out quite right, but he is still trying to create the perfect pumpkimelon.

Why this pallio has flowers in their mane:
Rut's love of flowers and gardening is not the reason he keeps flowers in his mane, though they did partially influence his decision. While still living on the farm, a strong storm hit his home. The wind crashed against the barn and lightening crackled in the sky, making the rain look like a glowing mist from inside. As his family began to head to bed, a bolt struck their barn. Immediately the structure turn ablaze, sending the family is shock. Rut and all of his family rushed outside to put out the flames and get all the livestock to safety. But, as the flames swarmed around the barn, nothing was working to put it out. Rut watched in horror, though relieved that his family and all the animals were a safe distant away. Though suddenly the fire spread and reached into his garden where his prize flowers were just sprouting. In a rash decision he rushed towards the flower bed and picked as many of his babies as he could, sticking quite a few in his mane. Finally, as the fire pallios arrived, Rut and his family were able to go to bed, safe and sound. Upon waking up the next morning, Rut saw that his flowers still stayed safe in his mane. The rest of his garden outside was ruined, but the few he held onto began to re sprout after being planted again. However, he still keeps some of the original flowers in his mane in case another emergency to preserve the beautiful flowers and his hard work.

What do other pallios think of them:
Rut has always been a bit of an outcast. He never really acted that different, but he was very timid and shy, rarely sticking up for himself. Other pallios think he is a pushover, which is kind of true to a point. As a child in the country he never made too many friends, living on a farm miles away from other pallios. The other reason he is usually ignored was he obsession with plant genetics. Rut was always messing with his garden to try and create new species of plants which in the old country town was thought of as defying nature. After moving Rutherford became even more distant to other pallios because they thought of him as a ignorant country boy. He did make a few friends, just enough to finally allow him to open up about his interests and pursue his dreams which other pallios believed to be pointless.

Relationships:
Rutherford doesn't have too many friends, usually preferring to spend time alone working on his plants, however he does have a few friends he will hang out with at times. Considering he is extremely shy and is kind of outcast by most pallios, he doesn't have and pallio friends right now, thought he is hoping to change that in the future. His first friend he ever had was a rabbit named Cassia (she is letter H). Though technically Cassia was his pet rabbit, it was the first real connection he made with a living creature that wasn't a member of his family. He would always let Cassia roam around in the garden, though would fight against her when she tried to eat his growing vegetables. For hours while gardening he would sit and talk to Cassia about his future plans and what was bothering him. He still keeps Cassia around, though she has become more of a garden guard rabbit against other terrors like deer. Other than Cassia, Rut doesn't have too many friends, but who needs so many friends when you have a best friend to tell everything too, even though she doesn't say much back.

Alrighty, so this technically ends today!

But there's some WIP forms here (some look nearly done too) and only actual finished form. I'd rather not have one person win by default.

So how about this, I'll extend the contest if someone who has a WIP form posts or PMs me requesting an extension. . I'll wait 24 hours (to give everyone a chance to reply due to timezones) before closing this comp.

It's been a while since I put up a new pallio, and I just want the spring ones gone at this point. Contest would be extended to the 20th, by the way, should someone request the extension.

Alrighty, comp over. I'm gonna be working on releasing quite a few new pallio today, so I need to get these guys outta of the way and into a home.

Pretty much by default, the winner is waffle02! Whose form I'm not gonna bother posting because it's just a little bit above mine.

I really liked the idea behind why he has flowers in his mane. Never thought of it acting as an emergency flower stash of sorts, a very neat idea. Also dig the named Rutherford and how it's shortened to Rut. Rest of your form was pretty well thought out too, good job.
