TV Show- Quantum Leap

Why?:
Quantum Leap is basically Doctor Who, minus the aliens and plus a social conscience. Sam loves watching the show because not only does every episode show a little slice of history (and she's not ashamed to admit that the little bits of knowledge she's picked up has helped her with pop culture knowledge), but also because it shows social issues from a perspective that they can be fixed all wrapped up in a neat little science fiction time traveling box. Plus, it's just a fun show in general. The show's Sam has inspired her to do good in the world and to make sure that what might go wrong goes right.

Why?: Evanescence loves to make others see a larger picture out of tiny little pieces of the same material. He enjoys spending his time focusing on itty bitty details to fit together the larger image, much in a way similar to how his own mind works. It holds his easily lost attention to one place for long enough for him to create wonderful pieces that are known all over. He also enjoys seeing others' work and connecting it to the artist's own personal experiences if he knows them, as he realizes how personal art can be. Especially something that takes insignificant pieces to make a large and solid one- much like how life works.

Maroon 5 - Sugar (Music video)

Why?: Elaine loves music videos of all kinds with a fiery passion that cannot be explained. She adores how the videos express the true meanings of the songs as well as the personality of the bands themselves. The Sugar music video is especially dear to her because she loves the idea of surprises and delighting others. She believes that bands coming to people's weddings surprising them on their special day is an amazing act of kindness towards their fans and approves of it wholeheartedly.

Okami is my favorite media because it was the first video game I ever had sentimental attachment to.
My sister (read as non-related best friend of 10+ years who is like family) who moved away to a different state was the one to get me into this game.

Ever since then, I've always cherished it as one of my favorite games.
Outside of the memories of our relationship it holds, it also is a wonderful game. Artfully created and loaded with tons of content, I could spend hours playing this game and never get bored. There's never a moment where you have the dull "grinding" because it's so story-oriented, although the bosses are worthy challenges. The many twists and turns always keep you interested. (124/125)

Why?: A massive world set years in the past, the stories and mechanics of the game swirling around the most popular and common stories found in Japan. Oki has somewhat an obsession with it, since it actually keeps to the "truth" of these mythological fables, as he strives to study his favorite culture in the world. He enjoys the overall style, as it approaches everything somewhat differently - you play as a wolf, the Goddess of the Sun, Amaterasu; something that isn't seen very often.
Every time he plays through it, he always find something new that he hadn't noticed before, and he still hasn't fully completed the game. This vast world is intriguing and he strives to always learn more about the past it hints at.

Why?: Okami is a game that, through adventure, speaks to the conservation of nature in art based on traditional Japanese brushwork. Not only is Konohana amazed by the beautiful artwork, the game's theme truly speaks to her. It offers a new perspective on the world, one she is always amazed to so depicted as so. She has always believed strongly in the protection of nature, and for a game to show it in such a unique way is to her truly remarkable. On top of that, it adds in to the game much of the Shinto legends, portrayed beautifully. She is fascinated with the legends of this religion, making this special to her. It is a difficult game, but one she has devoted herself to in it's beautiful portrayal of these stories and the one value she holds dear- nature.

Kingdom Hearts :: Videogames

Why?:
Yin loves videogames, but none more than The Kingdom Hearts franchise.
As a small child, Yin was very sick and couldn’t spend much time with other children. He had developed a vivid imagination and would make ‘worlds’ in his head he would go through and enjoy with his various imaginary friends. Of these worlds, he could never choose his favorite and would try to spend at least a little bit of time in each.
When he played his first Kingdom Hearts game on the GBA, he fell in love almost instantly! All these Disney worlds were rolled into one game and he could visit any of them! Each game holds such promise at the beginning, and wonder at the end. He loves each game.
