Equid's Name: Lady
Age: 4
Height: 12.1hh
Sex: Mare
Gender: Mare
Personality: Lady is very intuitive little one, it often gets her into situations she wouldn't be in if she was less based on her feelings and more reason with her feelings. But she is self confident, so why reason or even question her opinions if she obviously knows she's right. She has a very fun-loving and fast-pace, living in the fast lane is more fun for her although it is more risky. She hates being alone, especially with her excellent social skills. Although it comes with a price because if she isn't the center of attention, then there is no point in being social with people. She's very honest, and she value's honesty a lot. There is a lot in a relationship, but she falls in love with honesty. She's a very caring equid, she loves to care for others. Deep down under her skin, she is emotionally dreary and finds her life dull at times; but she tries to mask all that with her fun-loving life.

Descriptive Piece: Stepping into the open, the cold and crisp air practically shrouds you, forcing a slight shiver to wrack your body. You tilt your head up, eyes just as dark as the sky above. A full moon hangs heavy there, the perfect circular body blemished only with smaller, darker rings- though, these blemishes only add a sort of mystifying character to the moon, instead of something negative or ugly. A whisp of a cloud- almost hair-like in nature- floats across the shining orb, seemingly wrapping around it like a vice. Or, you think, perhaps a gentle carress.

With a ghost of a smile puckering your lips, your gaze is drawn to the stars. There, you know, the constellations rest. It's difficult to point them out; to your untrained eye, the stars merely look... clustered. There are too many and too little, all at once. It's both over- and underwhelming and you grimace at your lack of knowledge of the night sky, though your face falls slack at the beauty of it when soft flicks of light dance across your vision.

"Shooting stars," you say to the night, plumes of vapor coming from your mouth as you whisper these words. You catch the fall of another star, the movement so fast that you barely missed it. The trail and the star flicker out in just a few hearbeats, and you close your eyes to make a wish. "Let it stay," you say, breathless. "Let it stay as beautiful as it is now. Let Selene pull her chariot across the sky as Helios pulls his away. Let the stars burn for a lifetime; let them fall with grace and beauty as they flicker out. Let it stay."

And with that wish, you walk back inside, casting one last look behind you at the sky before shutting the door.

Happy Story: This story a little weird, but it's funny and I laughed pretty hard. So today we are having a Christmas dinner, and unfortunately we lost my Grandpa to cancer last year. Christmas was his favorite time of the year, he loved it and even he was extremely sick for the last few ones he still managed to be an awesome happy granpda; so the holiday is a little rough some times because it isn't the same without him. But my grandma brought over her friend/boyfriend, and I was talking to him and my brother was too. And then he got busy with other people, and my brother kind of looked at her boyfriend and laughed a little before he whispered something to me that I didn't completely hear. Then later on, he pointed it out again and I thought it was funny so I giggled a little but I made sure that it wasn't loud, so we both walked out of the room to get drinks and we ended up sat in the kitchen drinking out pop and and he repeated it again and showed me a picture. My mom came into the kitchen, and she pauses at the door way then makes a confused face before she finally speaks. "Wayne (grandma's boyfriend) kind of looks like the Lorax." And we all started laughing, then turns out later that he knew that he looked like the Lorax and we all had a good laugh.

Equid's Name: Alaska
Age: 3
Height: 12hh
Sex: Mare
Gender: Mare
Personality: You could never pick one thing to describe alaska but you could pick many to potentially describe her. Shes like a stick, snake, a gazelle, but also like a dog.

Though she is deaf you could say shes like a puppy, she is easily talkative and if you give her a topic to talk about she could talk your ear off all day. She is intelligent and if she has a topic to talk about she can back it up with so many facts. with being talkative she mostly always knows what the best thing to say is when a friend is in need. She is also very loyal and will not give up on a friend. No matter what she will never leave them either. She will be by your side during the tough times and there during the best to. Lastly she can be very friendly towards the people she knows but even to strangers.

Another thing to describe her would be a gazelle. She loves to live in groups, to feel that feeling of closeness. She is a family can of equid, she loves to be near them and them to know that she loves them but also to know that they love her. She also will warn this family is she feels or know that there is an impending danger. She will go at any lengths to protect them. She also loves to run and run as far as she can. To go with the love of running she is Also known for her gracefulness. Though she is graceful at times she can be scared easily and very skittish.

Though she can be friendly and have all these positive character traits she can have many negative traits and it boarders on a multiple personality disorder. She can next be described as a snake. When she knows that you have turned on her and hurt her she can have a very nasty bite to her and she can turn her back on you forever; shes great at holding grudges. With this nasty bites she can tear you apart quicker than you did to her and she knows every weakness of you. She is sly when she wants to and she can past even the best of the eyes. She also is skilled at making plans and catching the thing she wants most. Though all of that she has a trusting side to her.

Lastly she can be described as a stick. She has a strong personality and she can stand any blow you can put her up against and with every blow you give her she grows stronger from it. Every year she grows bigger and stronger, mentally and physically. Though she is very strong she can snap very easily given the right pressure. When you make her snap it leads to her being the snake of her and with it she will hurt you with her jagged edges.

All these that she is described as, the dog, the gazelle, the snake, and the stick, all lead to adding up to her. Some may just see her being the deaf equid but she is so much shes strong, wise, friendly, but she has a nasty bite. Those who truly get to know her can see the great sides of her and those who get to know her in a wrong way get to see the jagged edges of her.
Descriptive Piece: The sun had just set leaving the sky in a blaze of magnificent colors, though darkness was coming. Its arms were spread out throughout the horizon, it was following the light almost like it was trying to reach it, almost like it wanted something. As the day slowly drew to a close, the tiny little lights in the sky began to show their face almost in a shy kind of way. As they became their full potential they sparkled, shined, and winked. They littered the sky in ways to create images in the sky. They slowly danced together.
Happy Story: Though it sounds simple, the one thing over the break that has made me that happiest is spending the few days with my best friend. We've been friends since 2nd grade and now were in the middle of 11th grade. shes been in my life for most of my life and through high school we've been busy with life and the amount of things school has put on our shoulders so the only time we really see each other is once a week for 20 minutes on Wednesdays lunch. Shes become a part of my family to me and its difficult not seeing someone in your family for a while. So being with her and seeing her for a few days in the break has been the happiest time. Because she is the best part of me and she make me laugh and ending up doing stupid and daring stuff that makes me embarrassed later on but during those moments Im the happiest I will ever be. So going out, or staying in, or sledding down the dangerous hill on her pasture is the happiest I will be and though its very simple its my happy story.

Oh god she's sososo pretty owo

Username: Shadowhunter,
Equid's Name: Astrid. Her show name is Starlight Sonata
Age: 2
Height: 12.1hh
Sex: Mare
Gender: female
Personality: Astrid is an odd mare as she never whinnies or neighs, she makes no sound. This is a result of her being born deaf: she has never heard another equid make noise and therefore doesn't know what noises she should be making, in fact she doesn't even know she's supposed to make noises. She has also never learnt how to properly communicate with others and just stares at them with her head tilted sideways, confused with what they're trying to do. The other equine ends up with frustrated or creeped out by her staring and end up stalking away. They spread rumors about Astrid and even though she can't hear them talking, she can feel their animosity and shies away from them.

Astrid has had bad experiences with others, not just equines, but humans too. She was born on a ranch that bred purely for looks, not genetics. Her sire was healthy, but her dam...not so much. She was already weak before she was pregnant, but her coloration was beautiful and that's all that mattered. As the mare came closer and closer to her due date, she became weaker as all her energy was put into keeping Astrid healthy. Astrid ended up being premature-and deaf as a result. Her dam died shortly after Astrid's birth and even though she doesn't understand why, Astrid always feels guilty about her mom's death and has nightmares of the day she woke up to see her dam glassy-eyed and cold.

As soon as Astrid was old enough, she was turned out with the other foals. They didn't mind her at first, but it soon became clear that Astrid was the owner's favourite because of her unique coat. Astrid didn't like the extra attention though because it meant lots of poking, prodding, and getting looked at like an object, not a sentient being. It also meant the the foals in the field would despise her because of the extra attention she got. They soon discovered that she is deaf and how they tortured her. Sneaking up behind her then biting at her face, opening the door to her stall and throwing worms, beetles, and even a live snake. When she was old enough to begin training, the owners put her through grueling training sessions everyday. When she was tired, they'd whip her on the sensitive skin of her belly or between her legs where the scars wouldn't show. As soon they tried to train her to follow commands, they learnt of her deafness. She was beat up and let go. As a result, she doesn't trust anyone and prefers to keep to herself. She constantly checks behind her out of the fear something is there and coming to get her.

Astrid isn't aware of different personalities or that she even has one. To her, she's acting in a way that gives her the best chance of survival. She ran from the frist barn and lived in the wild for months. The wild is a brutal place for a deaf equid and Astrid figured that out very quickly. Just because she's not book smart doesn't mean she's dumb; in fact she's quite intelligent. She learns by observation and trial and error. During her months in the wild, she learnt that the wolves had certain feeding times so she should avoid coming near them when they're out hunting. She also learnt (after a few close calls) that predators would stand downwind from her so she wouldn't be able to smell them until too late. She trusts her gut instinct and whenever she feels even the slightest hint of danger, she flees. The wild wasn't kind to her, and in the end, she ended up at another barn, this one much kinder to her than her first home. However, if the barn gets too dangerous, she will leave. Or so she thinks...

The humans at the barn see Astrid's personality much differently than she sees it. Most can't see her intelligence, however some notice how she seems to be able to tell the personality of others by looking at them/smelling them, how she avoids rotten apples (while other horses eat them then get sick), how she can open the lock on her stall door-the signs are there if you choose to see them.

Astrid doesn't realize what a handful she can be, but the humans at the barn generally become exasperated by her antics. She refuses to have a halter and lead on while she's being groomed or getting a bath. She find them confining and annoying (however she'll tolerate them at a show) and she takes it a sign of distrust. Astrid won't eat unless her trainer (and the only human who will put up with her) feeds her. If anyone else tries, she'll think they're trying to poison/hurt her. She can also be hypocritical as she expects others to do things, but she doesn't do them herself. She also seems like a bit of a drama Queen-she tends to make a big deal out of nothing. For example, the farm owner's truck sprayed her with water when she was being walked, and she reared, bucked, and glared with her ears flattened. She would not calm down for hours and she prances nervously around the truck even months later.

She needs an insanely patient person to train her as she can be paranoid about her surroundings. Being deaf, she can't hear the ambient noise or if something is coming for her, so she constantly checks the area around her. First, the trainer would have to walk with her around the arena (has to stay with her, otherwise she freaks out because she turns around and no one's there) not only once, but multiple times. She also has to pause during training to sniff and look around just to double check that there's no danger. Despite all this, Astrid is a natural at showing and has won may ribbons, however, getting her to the show ring is a challenge on its own. They have to get there early so Astrid can checkout the arena and make sure it's safe. Then they have to warm her up and take her for a walk around the outside of the arena so she can observe the people. After that, she's fine for the show save for the occasional sniff or glance behind her.

Astrid has many quirks and fears, but there are a few notable ones. Her main quirk is she'll never walk into her stall, an arena or a new place without checking it out first and making sure it's safe. This is a result of finding bugs and snakes in her stall when she was a foal. She tends to be nervous around water because she was sprayed with it by a truck once (it was terrifying for her) and she almost drowned in a stream once. Astrid is terrified that something I'd going to sneak up on her and either eat her or kidnap her. She constantly checks behind her because of this. Other minor fears include drowning, getting kidnapped, losing her home to a fire, dandelions (she ate one that had a bee in it and she thinks it was the flower that stung her x3), trucks, and people with glasses (the owners at her previous home wore glasses so she associates them with the pain she felt there).

Astrid wakes up every day feeling like something is missing (she doesn't understand that she's deaf). She notices how other equines perk their ears when the truck comes up the driveway, and she also notices how they all start at the sound of thunder (whereas she can just feel the vibrations from it and she's curious about its source, but she's not scared of it). She thinks this behavior is weird and the other equines think her behavior is weird because she doesn't start at loud noises. Even though Astrid can be quite a handful sometimes, she truly loves the people and equines she lives with (she'll never admit it though).

Descriptive Piece: A cool wind ruffles your hair and stirs your soul, wakening your senses until all you feel is the wind and all you can see is the vast sky turning to night. You breathe in, smelling the familiar scent of rain on the horizon and a hint of ripe fruit from a nearby apple tree. The tree is quite far away and the sun back lights it, shadowing the front so it looks like a silhouette against a darkening background. The sky is a magnificent tangerine hue where the sun lays, suspended by an invisible force. As its light radiates out, the tangerine fades to a deep royal blue then the sky falls to blackness and hints of light start to wink into existence. Rainclouds litter the sky, lit up by the sun. Those closest to the sinking star are an orange so vivid, it seems surreal, like a painting. Those further away are softly tinged with shades of rose and violet, yet they look striking against the deep blue of the shadowing sky. More stars start to whisper into existence as the sky deepens, scattering their pure light into space. The raincloud that blocked the moon suddenly drifts across it. The moon, freed from the cloud, shines its silvery light onto the world below. The clouds become splashed with silver; the grass and apple tree bask in this night sun. The rain you had smelt earlier comes down now, not gradually but all at once, drenching you instantly. Quicksilver moonbeams bound off the water droplets and shattered light falls everywhere, chasing itself and the shadows. You decide it looks like the stars are falling and you smile in wonder. The droplets subside and you notice the sun has set completely; the shadows had chased the light and the stars and moon burn fervently in an inky darkness. Small lights flicker with the graceful stars, tiny, hopeful lights known as fireflies. The wind changes form cool to warm and lulling and you suddenly feel sleepy. You curl up under the blanket of the dark, silent sky and fall asleep with the stars watching over you, a content smile playing over your lips as you drift off to sleep while the moon sails silently overhead.

Happy Story:
I've been waiting for a story to put here, but as I'm not at home, not much has really happened. Except for what just happened rn xD

I'm staying with my aunt and uncle, and the have a cattle dog mix named Spencer. He's a very sweet and mellow dog, never growls and is very patient and adorable. My aunt brought out christmas crackers which always contain coloured paper crowns. Spencer always sits and stares at whoever has food, and he was staring at my mom. That was the perfect chance for my sister to slip a crown over his head (as it wouldn't stay on top). And he looked so hilarious, we all burst out laughing xD Being the sweet dog he is, Spencer didn't fuss and it stayed on until he ripped it by yawning x3

Descriptive Piece: Above an isolated mountain peak, with icy winter wind nipping at her hooves, Ramona gazed to the night sky. The light from the cities of men could not reach her here, and the sky was a deep, untouched ebony, glossy and pure as the wings of a young raven. A dusting of delicate stars cast a weak light upon the hills, illuminating the crisp snow on the mountain peaks. Wispy clouds slithered across the twilight, backlit by the moon. It's pale face was mostly obscured, and it only peeked out from the clouds every few minutes. There was a stillness brought on by this pure dark, untouched by anything. Time seemed to stop as the clouds rolled on, weaving around the twinkling stars and casting shadows that snaked slowly along the still mountain peaks. The occasional snowflake drifted by, pristine white and thousands of colours all at once.

I come onto CS maybe once in a blue moon? So don't expect fast replies.
Pretty inactive nowadays as travelling the world keeps me pretty busy, but I'm here now and again for a yarn or even if you want a few pets? Feel free to make a one sided offer, although I retain my right to refuse or edit a trade if there is something I'd want to hold on to for memories sake.
WME herd.
Feel free to PM me if you're interested in adopting one.

Age: 5 Years
Height: 12.1hh
Sex: Mare
Gender: Genderfluid (Mare)
Personality: Vega is a spunky and happy-go-lucky little mare. She loves to be around friends and family and absolutely adores playing with foals. Despite her being blind, she loves life and has a very positive aura to her.
Descriptive Piece: A galaxy is a galaxy. It seems there is nothing so particularity special about that. A large system of stars held in place by the grip of gravity, isolated from other similar systems. Yet to us, the simple specks of dust that we call living beings, it seems an eternal, never ending spill of wonder and beauty. As colors clash together in a symphony of swirls and miscellaneous patterns, bright specs of stars and other matter seems to explode in a flash of hot white light. The vastness of it all seems so overwhelming to us at first glance. Yet the beauty still captures our minds, and pulls curiosity to its peak.
Happy Story: Aw yee happy story time :3
So my happy story for this year is pretty depressing as well. You see my family is sadly a jumbled up mess of drama. My father in the middle of it all, poor soul. He has had some problems in his life, of which led him to become homeless. In which he became understandably depressed. He refused to contact anyone, and for three long months of anxiously sitting by the phone I feared the worst had happened to him. Then, amazingly, I came home from an especially awful day of school to him sitting there in my living room with a huge grin on his face. He lives four hours away. It turns out my mum, bless her heart, took it upon herself to drive those four hours to pick him up from the homeless shelter, and drive another four hours back to bring him to my grandparents house for his birthday on the 16th. It was the best surprise I have ever had, and an even better Christmas gift than I could have ever hoped for <3

Equid's Name: Kassiros
Age: 6 years
Height: 12.1hh
Sex: Mare
Gender: Female
Personality:
Kassiros, a stranger would say, lives in her own world. She speaks little (if at all), interacts only at need, and appears mostly unaware of other equids unless they nudge or gesture significantly for her attention. For those who know her, of course, this behaviour is easily explained by her lack of hearing. Even for them however, there might be moments of annoyance if they happen to be trying to talk to her while in a cranky mood or on one of their bad days.

Kassiros is aware of the effect she has on others, and this has in turn shaped much of her character and her actions. As a youth she wondered long and often what it was she lacked, being very aware that there was something the rest had that she didn't; something that made most shun her and others struggle to reach out to her. But she has learnt to take it in her stride. She tends to make her decisions unhurriedly, carefully. After all, it takes time to think of how best to communicate with any other equid: time to figure out what others are saying, time to formulate and then give an appropriate response in the way the other might best understand it.

Thinking so much has, through the years, given her a tremendous amount of patience. She is not, in any sense, an impulsive equid; nor is she someone who flies into easy tempers when she does not get what she wants. She used to, as a foal, because no one understood her; but the years have tempered her and given her a patient resilience that a mountain would admire. She doesn't much like trying to talk to others though - it can be tiring to do so, and if it isn't needed she much prefers not having to.

But beneath her aloofness and slow, quiet courtesy lies an intelligent, sensitive soul; a heart rich with poetry; and a vast well of natural curiosity. Kassiros may not be able to hear, but that has never stopped her from probing her world and imagining what she might be missing – what others perceive when she only feels the clack of traveling hooves as they cause earthly tremors to roll up her legs; what they sense as she watches the tumble of a brook flowing past her feet; what is whispered of wind as she watches leaves turning in the breeze. Why the other equids startle so much more than her at the mighty roar of thunder - the brute force of it vibrating through her entire being.

And she makes up music and songs about these things – she never sings, of course, but she hears her own music, constantly and consistently, in her own mind. Songs of solemn mountain crags raw from landslides; of molten snow flowing in streams from heights untold; of young thrushes playing at her hooves and trying out their voices. The stars, however, hold the greatest enchantment for her: vast in their wonder and great in their mystery. There is little she likes better than standing out under the night sky, gazing upon them and creating, internally, the songs that best suit their far-flung beauty.

For all her elegance of thought and lyrical mind however, Kassiros is no stranger to death or danger. She would not have lived as long as she has if so. Growing up and living amongst the wild herds of equids, she is careful and observant for threats such as rockslides, hostile weather and predators. She may not be able to hear them, but so sensitive is she to the touch of wind and rumble of rock that she can pick up an impending night of storms or the feel of rotten rock from her hide and hooves alone. She is also highly alert to other animals, able to detect immediately if, say, a nearby flock of crows is on high alert mode; or if all the creatures in any area have suddenly disappeared.

And to the ones who have won her trust and respect, Kassiros is both a loyal friend and a dependable companion. Because few are the equids who want to befriend someone considered so hard to talk to, though through no fault of her own; and so for the ones who make the effort she has nothing except the highest regard and deepest appreciation. She can't stand equids who might try to befriend her solely to advance their own ends however, and usually writes these folks off if she discovers that it is happening. She might be deaf, but she certainly is not dumb; and being in her disadvantaged position she is also in a uniquely good position to see others as they really are. She won't tolerate insincerity, but to her true friends she is a fun and lovable personality. If also rather dreamy at times as she stares into space composing her songs.

Descriptive Piece:
The sky spoke to her as she lifted her eyes - star called to star and light to light. She was enamored of it - it sang to her: midnight as splendor and softer than silk. Blacker than charcoal and gilded with slate: soft streaks of cirrus all drifting in space. A symphony color, in myriad array - stars all a'speaking in silent cold state. Some born of silver, some born of flame: reflections of fire and lustrous pearl rays.

She stood in the silence and filled thus her soul - with dozens of diamonds and visions of gold. A dance in the darkness; light road through the skies - crisscrosses of glitter and speckles of ice. A wink and a twinkle; a flash and a glint: each spark its own say, its own word, its own way. Ah! - endless orchestras of jewels a-sway. Burnt in her eyes and stabbed in her vision - respiteless as wind she stood and persisted.

Sooth, sang the wind, drawing thin veils of stratus.
Rest, spoke the moon, riding a cirrus.
Hist, said her mind, soundless and ear-less: each is but once, in their glory a'flicker. No star the same twice: like flames, waves, cumulus.

The night spoke to her as she lifted her eyes, a black wing a'sparkle flung wide as the sky. Spanning vast shimmers from horizon to height: estuaries of glimmer and glories of light. Storm swirl nebula; far racing bolide - singing the anthems of boundless dusk sky. Till sun's rise do drown them, and dawn do them bye.

Till another night.

Happy Story:
Well, my happiest moments this holiday were when friends gave me cards or text Christmas greetings and when my family and I set down to a wonderful Christmas Day lunch we had planned together and then went to see "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" in the evening.

Because, you see, this year has been an exceptionally bad one for me: I was betrayed by someone I trusted and had to carry the project we were doing by myself the entire year. It just ended in November and, after that, it's like all the people I thought were my friends became mere acquaintances. I spent a lot of time thinking I must be a really horrible person and no one would ever be my true friend.

So Christmas this year has been especially happy because its reminded me there are more things to life: I grinned crazily at every card I got, at every jolly text message from friends and, of course that wonderful Christmas dinner with my family and grandma (who couldn't stop teasing my sister, I've never see her so happy :) ) I suppose there is nothing like a backdrop of sadness to make you truly realise what you are happy about - I'm happy I've begun the turnaround in this period, and I'm happy for all the good things God has brought me this Christmas.
