A shadow loomed over the trees. It swished through the bushes and continued running as fast as his legs can carry him. Soon, he finally stopped as he reached his destination, The High Rock. It was supposed to be a sacred place for all Belldandy creatures to gather, but everyone scattered as chaos started. Humans started hunting them and their species are on the verge of extinction. Since the sound of their bells gave their location away, humans can easily find them, which made it harder for Belldandy creatures to go on. But they are still a couple of strong survivors. One of them is himself, Samia. Samia is a skilled Belldandy and has dark coloured fur, which gives him the advantage to hide between the shadows of the tall trees. Not just yet, he was also a father. He had a family. His wife was also a female survivor. They bumped with each other one day and became friends. Soon, their love grew and everything changed. They had a litter of Belldandy kids. It was a happy result for them. Samia slowly padded towards the little cave below the High Rock and tucked his nose in. Another nose met with him and his wife came out. She whinnied happily when Samia gave her some fresh berries and flower petals he found not long. His kids suddenly flew out charging towards Samia to greet him. He laughed cheerfully as he got toppled by a bunch of furry Belldandys'. His wife giggled and whinnied towards them, telling the kids to come and enjoy the food. The kids ran towards their mother and ate. Samia sat back up and smiled at his wife.
Suddenly, he froze. Samia looked up the sky. A flock of crows just flew above them, leaving cackles and flutter sounds. His ear shot up as he heard a rustling coming from not far away. He stood up immediately and looked back at his family, giving them a sign to run. His wife had a panicked and worried look as she ordered her kids to run. They escaped from the forest immediately. Samia turned back to see an enormous badger glaring at him. The badger hissed at him with a threatening aura, its eyes glow with craziness. Samia backed off slightly before he shifted his position into battle mode. He knew that he cannot retreat, because if he do, the badger would go chasing his family. He had to delay some time for them to escape to a safe pace. Samia whinnied back at the badger as he stomped his foot. The badger stopped but suddenly attacked at him. Samia didn't expect an attack so quick. The badger's claws swiped through his left eye, leaving two deadly scars. Although Samia didn't have to open his eyes, the injury stung and hurt a lot. Samia snorted and flew up in a safe distance. He had to find something to attack. He knew his strength is no match to that creature. Samia looked around and his keen eyes spotted a rock nearby. The size was perfect. He flew towards it and carried it carefully. As he aimed towards the charging badger, he threw it with all his might. The rock landed on the badger. It struggled under the rock and tried escaping, but the rock was too heavy. Samia immediately took this chance to escape and flew towards the direction where his family fled to. His wife and his kids were resting near a pool, as they saw him flying back, they whinnied happily. Samia landed and ran towards his family, hugging them. His wife had streams of tears dripping as she nuzzled him warmly. His kids jumped up and down, cheering for him. Samia felt a smile appeared on his face. He will do anything to protect this family. That is what a real father would do.
(Sorry if it's too long. I felt like giving it a try. ^^ Thanks for reading!)
Here's a quick traditional sketch I drawn for Samia. ;W;
