Hi, I'm Fragmentary Blue, the name inspired by this Robert Frost poem. I like
his poems a lot, and they all seem to be really beautiful; a few touches hearts.

Robert Frost wrote:
Why make so much of fragmentary blue
In here and there a bird, or butterfly,
Or flower, or wearing-stone, or open eye,
When heaven presents in sheets the solid hue?

Since earth is earth, perhaps, not heaven (as yet)--
Though some savants make earth include the sky;
And blue so far above us comes so high,
It only gives our wish for blue a whet.

- - - - - - - - -Her name is Philophrosyne, named after a spirit
- - - - - -of warm welcome, friendliness, and kindness from Greek
- - - - - - - -legends. In the legends, she had three sisters--Eukleia,
- - - - - --Euthenia, and Eupheme. Because her name is long and
- - - - - - - - -frequently mispronounced, Philophrosyne usually
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -goes by Phil or Syne.

ImageImage
Philophrosyne is a girl, about the age of fifteen. Sometimes she seems older, when she is in thought about
her books; the wisdom she gathered from all the books she read causes her to think a lot about
them. Sometimes she seems younger, when she is playing with her other Deerssert friends and not
worrying about her troubles.

ImageImage

Philophrosyne is known for her sweet personality and kind heart. She
loves helping people and animals alike, always being loving and caring to
those who need it. She can comfort someone with her touch and soothing words.
Phil loves to read, obviously, and she reads all kinds of different
books, because she finds both imaginary worlds and real life situations equally fascinating.
She is overfilling with ideas of every sort, which is a side effect to reading so many different
kinds of books, I guess.
Phil wishes to be alone sometimes, so she can ponder her troubles and wonders and the
stories she read. At other times, she wishes to be playing with her friends and having fun
with everyone she knows, people and animals both.
She is very playful and loves a good challenge, whether an obstacle course or
a hard math problem.
Phil is usually the kind of girl that is calm and composed, and does not express too much
of her feelings. Even when she is angry enough to catch fire, sad enough to melt, or happy
enough to burst, Phil does not show her pure emotions. But there is one exception to her
own personal rule. When Phil sees hot chocolate, she becomes so excited that she
starts jumping up and down and almost drooling with pleasure. She especially
loves peppermint hot chocolate, with soft, plump white marshmallows and bits of crushed
candy cane sprinkled on top. Just add a dollop of fluffy whipped cream and a drizzle of
dark chocolate syrup, and the enticing smell will be too much for Phil. She would run
over chairs, trample vases or anything else to reach the hot chocolate. Once when she was
still a little Deerssert, she found a can of hot cocoa in the cupboard. Just a little experimenting
with the stove, and out came a mug of steaming hot cocoa. That day, Philophrosyne fell
in love with hot chocolate. To this day, she will still push you over just to get to a mug of it.
Something about the way Phil acts and carries herself draws
other Deersserts and animals to her. You could say Phil is charismatic, but it also seems to be
something else... "Hey! Is that a marshmallow hanging out of your pocket, Phil? Have
you been sneaking the animals treats?" She just loves animals and seeing them happy,
I guess.

- - - - - - - - - - - -ImageImageImage
- - - - - - - - -Philophrosyne loves curling up with a book in front of the fireplace on a cold
- - - - - - - - - - - - -winter night. While a blinding, freezing storm whirls about outside,
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Phil is warm and cozy and just about to dig into another enticing story. She
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -loves fantasies, adventures, and mysteries especially, because when
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -she is sad or down she can lose herself in a story, where adventures take
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -place and miracles happen, and where no problems are truly real.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Phil's most favorite series is the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. It is a science fiction
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -series that is almost like a retelling of a few popular fairy tales, with many twists and turns
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and many more...
- - - - - - - - - - - -The reason Phil loves this series is the idea that--like fairy tales--she, or someone else, could be changed.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -The fairy tales were popular stories, yet they could be changed into another version, to be told
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -again with renewed interest. Not only does Phil think that this is a cool idea and amazing concept,
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -she feels this way is a way for her to be another version of herself, where she does not have
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -problems or cares, like in the stories.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Now, for that mug of hot cocoa...

Thank you for reading this about Philophrosyne. I greatly appreciate it,
and wish good luck to everyone who entered! You all have an equally
great chance at winning this wise, sweet Deerssert. Oh, she's so pretty!

      Username: Hi, I'm antiquaries, a non-owner ;u;
      Deer's name: Natalya
      Gender: Female c:

      Image
        ♥ CLEVER ♥ SWEET ♥ KIND ♥ DREAMY ♥ ABSENTMINDED ♥

♥ Natalya is a book worm and a very clever Deerssert, who loves to read mainly fiction books but also likes a dash of nonfiction. She's a smart cookie and quite content to curl up with any book at any time.

♥ Natalya is a kind and sweet Deerssert. She's always willing to help others out <3

♥ Natalya is often dreamy and absentminded. She reads her beloved books so often that she's got a personality that's a little bit strange. She loves referencing random parts of books.

♥ She's a little bit quirky, too, and has some peace-love-unity motifs. Also, when Natalya is REALLY into a book, it's difficult for her to discern fact and fiction. So her friends (who know the way she is and love her for it) just kinda leave her alone for a while so the effect can wear off.

♥ She's never been the kind of dreamer that pretends to run across open clouds, but she is the type of dreamer who sets huge goals, and the kind of dreamer who closes her eyes and imagines success, imagines her own and then a character's success.

      Image

      Image
"You can't possibly want me to get all of them!" Did that sound sweet? Playful? It wasn't. Natalya becomes an absolute train wreck when you ask her to list her favorite books or series, because to be honest she reads way too many and loves way too many. But the glasses perched on her nose are there for a reason--being a fast, speedy reader, Natalya loves thick, heavy books, and the books she's found are the thickest and heaviest books are the slightly dated historical fictions.

An excellent example is War and Peace. A quick interview with her about the book will reveal as much information as a quick interview about candy canes with a Cinnamon Bun who can't speak. An excerpt is posted below:

        NATALYA:
"Wait, you want me to talk about War and Peace?" At this point, her voice is only slightly panicky. While she's a nervous gal, Natalya can manage to keep her cool most of the time.
        YOU:
"Yeah. Like, who's your favorite character?"
        NATALYA:
"Uh, um, Natalya, maybe? No, I'm sorry, that sounds egotistic, but I'm named after her...I do think she's a cool character, I guess? Um, she's described as 'not pretty but full of life' which is good? Not to be rude to people who are pretty!" Aaaand let the fear begin. This is when her answers turn into confusing rambles of mush and pea soup.

        Image
It's not as if she isn't an expert on the subject, either. In fact, she's probably the most educated Deerssert on War and Peace, like, ever. Along with most of Tolstoy's other books. She's read War and Peace a total of 17 times, and added more to her incredibly thorough and detailed notes every single time! She's nearly memorized the entire darn thing, from every sigh and pause to every word howled in the night. No one knows the book like she does. But you'd never know it, not with the way she dances around things like a butterfly.

However, people have managed to figure out she's something of an intellectual (and a little bit of a hippie, with her peace, love, and freedom motifs that, like everything else, are kept to herself). So whenever they see Natalya, people will think of heavy books. Thick books. Books that are usually Natalya's preferred reading material. But every once in a while--just every once in a while--a teen fiction book graces her shelves and she absolutely loves it.

        Like, loves it to death.

Take for example The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It's the sort of novel that Natalya should scoff at, from her peers' perceptions, because she likes GOOD fiction. Fiction that makes you revel in rich writing and fabulous adjectives that force you to dig out that dictionary that was printed in the 1800s. Fiction that forces you to wonder for days about a single sentence, and fiction that inspires you to wake in the middle of the night and suddenly gain insight as to the meaning of a paragraph.

But ask Natalya her opinion. Go ahead.

"I love the book! Love it! It's fabulous, it's wonderful! I love the entire book! It's so sad, but I love it! I love it!" Oddly enough, teen fiction books (the good ones anyways) are the only books she can actually speak freely about without tangling her tongue in confusion. It's weird--she definitely likes the historical fictions better. She likes what happens when you read thick, heavy historical fictions, especially novels by those considered to be literary geniuses. And really, teen fiction is just her guilty pleasure (however satisfying it is).

But the truth stands. Natalya is completely tongue-tied about her true favorites, but the words flow like honey when it comes to the books she only likes on occasion. Just one of the many mysteries of life, I suppose.

      Image
      TL;DR version:

Natalya is a dork of a book nerd who loves long, heavy historical fiction that can be slightly dated at times, but her guilty pleasure is teen fiction novels that transcend their genres.

        Image

      Image
Natalya was not always the shy but confident-in-herself deer that she is today. There is no truly tragic backstory--her mother did not die, her father did not die, she has two sisters and an older brother--but for a time, Natalya was a socially stranded Deer who didn't know where she wanted to go or where she even was. She wasn't sure if her glasses were attractive and she wasn't taking the chance. She didn't know if her intense love of teen fiction novels and War and Peace + other historical novels were acceptable and it was like her interest in those books didn't exist.

And it wasn't even that she was bullied. No, the deer in Natalya's life had always been kind to her, further convincing the nervous girl that it was her problem--that she was a spoiled rotten deer who didn't know how to count her blessings. Horrified by these thoughts, Natalya did not confide in other deer about her anxiety of social rejection. Rather she kept it in a tight little knot in her stomach that grew until one day it reached her throat.

"Natalya," someone asked her, "why are you always squinting?"

      Image

The throat-stomach anxiety pushed at her. Natalya tried to speak. Stammered like it was the end of the world. "I--I--I don't know," she gulped, backing away. To this day she doesn't remember who made the knot of anxiety into an ocean, but she does know that she drowned in that ocean. The too-inquisitive deer peered at her with amusement in their face. Natalya blinked and tried to convince herself she did not squint. She would not. She could see fine without her glasses and she would always see fine. She convinced herself that her glasses, a cute little pair of dorky looking white frames that she had picked out with all the love in the world, were ugly and unnecessary because she could see just fine. Just fine.

She straightened her neck a little in (false, imagined) confidence. "I don't squint," she said proudly, so, so happy that she had managed to delude herself into believing that those lovely little glasses were 1) useless and 2) disgusting. But the ocean of anxiety was still churning. Something was still wrong and Natalya did not know why. She had become the pretty deer with (imagined, false) confidence she had always wanted to be.

      Image

Through her worry about what was wrong, she had stashed the lovely white glasses in a nice little hatbox her mother had found one day while cleaning out a closet. It had never really been Natalya's so when her mother saw it, she assumed that it was trash. After all, they had mountains of hatboxes (Nat's grandmother collected them). She put it in the trash, not knowing the glasses were inside.

Trash day came--Monday. Natalya woke up slightly groggy and went to look in her closet, where she had hidden her hatbox and the glasses. To her horror, she could not find the hatbox, and when her mother told her she had put it in the trash, Natalya was terrified. She had made herself into someone else, but that someone else wasn't her--and the glasses were! She loved those glasses with every fiber of her being!

And also she was a little tired of squinting at the blackboard.

Whatever her reasons, noble or lazy, Natalya sprinted through the house, confusing her aforementioned sisters and brother who promptly decided that their newly respectable sister had gone insane. She rushed outside in time to save her beloved hatbox and as a result, her glasses. There was one more thing she saved from the dumpster that day, although she would not realize it until later, when she had stopped trying to cover her freckles, had openly embraced her love of literature, her shyness, and her glasses. That day, she saved herself. Otherwise, she would have spent a lifetime trying to be someone she wasn't.

And while it's not a particularly sad story, Natalya saves the story in her heart so that someday she can pass it on.

Username; Yowzah.
Deer's name; Wren.
Gender; Female.
Brief personality; Wren is your typical nerdy fangirl, really. She's usually quiet and shy around new Deers, because of her social anxiety. She tends to prefer staying home and writing fanfiction or scrolling through Tumblr than going out to parties like most Deers her age do. She's dorky, a definate klutz and very bumbling when it comes to general movement, often tripping over her own hooves when she moves. She's also incredibly awkward, often saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Book story; "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" by John Green and David Leviathan.
Wren adores this book. It offers lots of humor, lots of music, and fantastic over-the-top moments that she only wishes would happen in real life. Some of the story is related in IMs and texts, which adds realism and energy. It is the first gay-themed book to wind up on The New York Times children's best seller list as well!
As a lesbian Deer, she mostly loves it because of it's realistic interpretation of gay character Tiny, mostly because it shows that gays aren't delicate little flowers, and can be freaking awesome AND manage to get onto the football team.
Needless to say, Tiny is her favourite character! Mostly because he's openly queer, but also because he does manage to, as stated previously, break up alot of gay sterotypes.

Basics on Bea

Gender | Female

Age | Sixteen, even though she may seem younger

      A little more about Bea

Having her nose tucked into a book may make this girl seem timid and shy, but don’t let appearances fool you. Underneath her glasses is a spunky individual who is smart and thinks on her feet.
Having read as much as she, you’ll find she refers to many a book that she has read. When she does, it’s best to nod your head and agree, as she can get quite into the topic. It usually starts with - “There was this fish, you wouldn’t believe, but it can swim backwards!”
      Image

Always positive, Bea keeps her sights on the good things in life, and not the bad. It’s her motto she’s kept to since she was a child. Bea keeps lots of notebooks (arranged in subject) in which she writes facts and fascinating pieces of information. One wall in her bedroom is entirely dedicated to the notebooks; each one a different size and colour. She likes unusual words such as "That person, Angus, is inaniloquent!" (When someone speaks foolishly, or saying silly things) Or, "That cat we saw yesterday was very pyknic!" (Short and fat)
Bea is very imaginative; she believes in mythical creatures - “If we can’t see them, doesn’t mean they don’t exist!” She and her best friend, Angus, went on many fabulous adventures when they were younger. Though they won’t admit, 5 years later, they still do go on adventures every now and then.

      Bea's favorite book

Each book has a story to tell, so if you asked Bea which one she likes the best, she’ll reply, “Each is a different person, you have to get to know them before you can make a judgement.” In other words, Bea likes everything. If you need a specific, she’ll say, “Any book that can teach me something. I believe life is about learning, and the more, the better.” She is particularly fascinated by nature books, and has a couple of dog-eared books in her collection. (She never uses bookmarks as she has a habit of leaving them in places never to be found again.)

      Bea's appearance

      Image
Bea is a slim girl; some would call her plain, others pretty but not over-the-top.
When you first glance at Bea, the first thing you would notice about her is her hair. When you look a little closer, you’ll notice her white glasses on her nose, the colour of her eyes. (Golden) Bea dresses in understated clothes, usually from second hand shops. Her style is simple, but unlike someone trying to impress, she’s just trying to be herself.
There is something about Bea that you couldn’t help liking her.

Flight loves the thought of flying, and anything related to flying. She loves planes and helicopters and everything related. If you ask her a question, any question, about flying she can rattle off the answer as if she were singing her ABCs. This deer is constantly making paper air planes and paper stars. Her desk drawers and dressers are full of them. It's a surprise she has room for anything else in her room. They also hang from her ceiling, twirling around in the light breeze that comes through Flight's constantly open window. This young gal is constantly spacing out, usually day dreaming about planes or the sky. She envies birds and winged deer, for they can do the one thing she can't. This deer always has her head in the clouds with her dream of flight.

Flight loves to read, if it is a book than she will almost instantly pick it up. This girly has lots of time on her hands as therefore she reads in her free time. She doesn't have a favorite genre nor does she have a favorite author. Although she does have a favorite book, one that she is constantly picking up and rereading when she has an ever growing pile of new books that she hasn't read yet. Wild Wood is her favorite book of all time. She owns her own, signed copy of this book. Her copy is a worn out hard cover, the pages are slightly faded and so is the cover. It has a plastic dust cover on it, to keep it from any more fading and signs of age. This deer loves this book because the adventures the main character(Prue) takes. From when Prue's little brother was taken by a murder of crows, to watching him sleep snuggly in his bed, she craved the overall story never to end. Not only does she love it's content, but she also loves the art style overall. She wishes she had a sibling, and was as adventurous as Prue. Prue was fearless, though fear did cross her mind occasionally. She longs to taste the adventure, which is why she loves flying.
