Story OR Art: Named after the Drama Queen known as Opal from Steven Universe [ I know may be odd ] but she is truly a lovely spirit who is full of spunk, elegance, and surprises and holds a new experience around every corner. She is proud of who she is and cares none of what other's think of her. She is lovely, and knows how to have a good time. Protective, careless, and young in heart. A true beautiful soul. And their colors just matched so perfectly. I could think of nothing better.
______________
Alone in the woods the lovely snake set on her rock made of pure opal, it glowed as the sun hit it's unique colors just like the colors of her scales. The light beamed off of her eyes as she stared down at the small creature before her, it was a butterfly, a new butterfly but a butterfly none the less. Much like the animals here it had it's own unique pattern but only when this little one opened his wings their was nothing there but white and it broke her heart.
Lowering her head down from her rock the small butterfly fluttered up and touched her nose with his own. Sliding her tongue out of her mouth Opal tasted him as well and smiled.
"Do not worry little one I have a pattern just for you"
Lowering her head she let the small creature land on the rock and turn it's back to her opening it's wings. Gently the snake lifted her tail of purple paint and went to work. Placing lines here, dots there, zig zags, stars, hearts, and more. She could see the image within her head and with the steady tail she called her own she knew it would turn out perfect. And soon she was done. Smiling she tasted the air once more and nudged the small creature.
"Now my little on you are as unique as the others"
Seeing the butterfly flaps it's wings with a newfound purpose she knew this butterfly would never forget her. And to this day the little creature stops by to show her how unique her painting on his wings really is.
