MAR · IL · ENE
Noun
Used predominantly in German and
English - mainly origins from the branch
of Germanic, meaning "beloved".
female | feminine | ♀
Understandably, Marilene is a female by heart and cannot be seen as a male through my own perspective. If Marilene would be told to be a male, she would most likely be taken back annoyed by the statement and pretty upset — pursuming being talked to in person. She's completely and utterly sure that she's is a female, and can't imagine herself as a dashing, young boy. Some things you just are completely sure about, and this is one of these subjects.

To be me is to endure a life of loathing and unhappiness. But I see the truth of people, their petty sides, their capacity for uncouth contempt. What they will do through their full extents to destroy another path. To see what anyone would do for wealth and the riches of one's treasure.
In my veins, my blood has become ink. So thick and hard to abolish, like poison. Each drop of my blood contains more burning hatred than acid, pain with every step I take. To be different from another shows of what has been done to me. With every breath I take in my rattling lungs, I have now become forgotten shards.
Only remember that I once had been free, a long time ago, once upon a dream.
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
Marilene had wings — nobody could match for the beauty of them. Big and beautiful that they would glow in the darkest of many days and nights. Marilene was a fairy. Her father, Basileus, the Father of Tilileyski, protected her dearly. Ever since her mother had died mysteriously when she was young, her Father had banned her from going near the border of the forest. She had always heard stories about the Great Village of Gugu. The tales that were told made out to sound that this place was a nightmare for all that ventured near it. But to Marilene, it sounded like an interesting place to see with it's wonders. Marilene had never taken it for granted that these fellow strangers that lived among her would come to harm. Surely, not all of them could be that way as they described them? She always wondered if their was ever one that had a gentle soul to tend to her needs of the questions she was so curious about. Where did they come from? Why pat was their culture like? How did they work together in substate a strong community? Marilene had to find out, and she wasn't one that could wait till it happened.
One night, Marilene escaped from from the land. No guard had managed to catch her, as she had used distractions to get past them. Foolishly, she outsmarted them. She had always been quite clever for a "princess" - always having tricks up her sleeve. As she reached the boarder, she wondered whether this was a wise idea. She shook it off, not refusing to turn back. She promised herself that she would be back before Dawn hit the tree's leaves and evaporate the morning dew. As Marilene had gone further from her home, she had left darkness behind her as light shone brightly beyond the night, filling up the dark skies that surrounded. Soon enough, she had reached the mysterious village of Gugu. "What is this bright light shining from the trees?. she asked herself. She'd never seen something so amazing before. Suddenly, the world became black, the lights disappearing. Something had gotten her by the neck, pulling tight and secure."Wh-hat... What its this?", she questioned with fear and confusement. Suddenly, ropes twisted around her delicate body, ripping against her fur. ARRRGhh- HELP! Help!", cried out for help, but nothing came but faded yelling and talks. Marilene kicked helplessly, but nothing seemed to work. Feeling like she'd been kicking for hours, her legs body slowly became droopy. All went silent, as she felt like the ground had caved her in and left her there. Marilene listened as the darkness hushed her to sleep.
When Marilene opened her eyes, bright light shone in her eyes. She peered her eyes, feeling too weak to open them more then she could. That wasn't till shooting pains filled her body. It felt as though someone was stabbing her in the back. She cried out in pain, heaving herself up on her legs, crying out in more pain than she could. Marilene felt like she was on the bridge of dying right there. She was so young, so much more to look forward too. Marilene twisted her head in pain, gasping as if she was chocking. Her wings... they were gone. Nothing but two slight stumps on her back. Marilene could not express her feelings. She was in pain, anger and saddness of hat had happened to her beautiful wings. She screeched, as she cried in dismay. It felt as though they had ripped her life away. Why would they do this? What purpose would they want for her beautiful wings? To sell them? She though as she stood up. She couldn't go back home, not now. They would banish her anyway fo the things she had done.
Just as she was about to walk away, a large bird flew down and landed on a branch. She gasped in shock. She'd never seen a bird like the one right in front of her before. Sure, she'd seen plently of extrodinary birds before in her land, but this one was different. It's feathers shone as bright of as the sun; glimmering the shine. The feathers were as green as the coulour of spring. Its tiny eyes looked at her, like it was studying her pain. Marilene froze when the biord suddenly started to shake itself. Feathers dropped from it, flying down softly as it it the ground. The bird remained silent, but it took off and disappeared among the trees. Marilene walked over to thge feathers, looking at them with curiousity glowing in her eyes. She twisted her head and looked at her wings that were no longer apart of her. She sighed. Suddenly, the idea for the feathers came into her mind. She grabbed the feathers, placing them on her back. She walked over to the nearest tree and collected it's tree sap, smudging it onto her fur and the feathers. It stuck like glue, holding the feathers in place. Using these feathers could hide the disgrace of her wings. What would happen if she does go back? What would her Father say? If she want back... would they accept her? She looked at her 'new' wings. Would they? She could no longer rejoin the community again. Her representation would fail to be a disgrace and hideous to be seen.
So with that, she decided to run away. Run away from the pain that stabbed her in the back. She had run away from her past from what one had destroyed. Only to keep everything as a past memory, as she had done
once upon a dream.

I stood in silence. Teardrops flowing like two rivers down my face, creating small pools beside my paws. I signed, breathing out the cold on-coming winter that was near. With a haunting past and painful memories, I had tuned inside, my heart painted black. As I walked through the forest, sudden voices echoed through the trees. Was that laughing she heard? Curious, I decided to follow the voices.
The voices lead to the edge of the forest. I hid behind a bush watching as two figures came running out from the open. I quickly ducked my head in suprise, pushing my head in the leaves of the bush. Trying to get up closer, I crawled forward. All at once, a sharp pain shot through my paw as I gasped in slight pain. When I looked back up, the two figures had stopped and were looking straight in my direction. I tried to remain still, but they were already walking towards me. I shut my eyes tight, hoping they would go away.
"...Hello?", a voice said. "We don't mean you harm... come out". I couldn't go now... it was too late to run... and not with an injured paw. Bravely, I stood up from the bushes, walking forward. To my astoniment... these creatures didn't look so different from what she imagined. "How strange...", I thought, as she looked at them, "They have no horn... or wings, but they look like... me". The creatures looked at her, one tipping it's head. "I'm IIyssa... and this is my friend, Gou. It's a pleasure to meet you!", the creature said with a soft smile, as the other one smiled too. Marilene was confused. All these stories... what these things did to me... Can trust them? But... they look so harmless. I slowly took steps forward towards the two creatures, lowering my head to show them that I meant no harm. "I'm... I'm Marilene... it's nice to meet you too", I said shyly. I looked up to see them staring at my 'wings'. I twisted my head, looking back at them. "Oh... oh these? Their just a... an accessory. It's nothing", I lied. What use did I want them to know? Nothing. I wanted nothing more to do with my past. I shook my head. "I should go..", I stated. The first creature spoke up. "Wait!", she replied. "Where are you going?". I looked down, turning my back towards the forest. "No where in particular...", I said. Just before I was about to leave. Then IIyssa spoke up. "Don't you want to meet the rest of us? The other Kiamaras?" Kiamaras? Is that what they call themselves? And their are... more of them? I turned back towards the two... Kiamaras. "Me? What will everyone think of me? I wouldn't be accepted. Not looking like this", I exclaimed. The other two looked at each then smiled as Gou replied in a happy tone, "Oh no! Their are plenty of us that would love to meet you and here's the best thing, we are all different. We may look alike, but everyone has something different about us. And we won't judge you on you for who you are". When the Kiamara said that, a bright shining smile spread across Marilene's face. She hadn't looked so happy for such a long time, her cheeks hurt. A broken smile that had been fixed once again. She nodded. "Okay, if you say so... show me the way".
With that, Marilene had adventured fit her than any of her kind. The Kiamaras accepted her for who she was, not on the things she had done. She kept her past a secret, but her heart had been mended once more. Again, it was like her wings had shown bright as the sun once more.
