Short Story:
I dodged the oncoming paw with sucsess, but then was attacked for the opposite flank. I fell on the ground in agony, blindly swiping my paws to and fro." Wake up Caerula!"The voice of my sister opened my eyes. Relief coursed through my body, "If everybody's ok, I'm going to go train with the other boys." [i]The boys were training to fight in the oncoming war with men. Another Belldandy tribe was taking no food and water from Caerulas territory. The only difference was the men were painted need, a handprint on their side and a ring around their eye. "Everybody's ok." My sister responded, and a second later, I was dashing off to a clearing in the woods where we would train. I held up against the boys, but being smaller, I was began brutally anyways. I worked hard everyday, trying to beat the boys. I slept slowly rose higher and higher and came home with
Cuts and bruises. Once I miraculously beat Jerome, the second best fighter, a surge a pride coursed through my blood. I went home that day and my sister was crying " I-I-I...don't go!" She stammered. As I asked her what was wrong, she quickly explained, " The war. It's started while you were gone. I'm going to miss you Caerula." She sniffles. I have her a comforting lick and sat with her as we fell asleep.
I looked at the creeping sun. I was saying goodbye to my sister while she was still asleep. I shook my head as a I padded outside to the elder who summoned me. A bucket of paint was at her feet, "Good luck, and sit!" I whined quietly, but obeyed. Paint began to fly and the elder began to grunt what felt like hours later.[\i] "Done." [i]A necklace was placed around my neck and I had a ring around my eye, a few slashes of paint here and there, and a single handprint. I walked over to my dad,"Let's go."
