Abyzou's true name is known by few who are still living. To tell you would take a voice, that which she does not have, and would sooner opt to hurt you than partake in such pleasantry anyhow. In folklore and rumor, she is simply referred to as: The Lamia.

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul.
That, if you look carefully, you’ll see a spark, a glimmer of something.
Life? Emotion? Hopes and dreams?
But, what if you looked, and there was nothing staring back at you?
What if, all you could see was darkness? An empty shell where something may have once been?
What if there never was anything there.
I don’t know what it is. I don’t know where it came from. If it was born or made. If it has maybe always been. Mother Pseudos use it to keep their children from wandering in the night; because you never know when the next child it takes may be close to home. No one knows where it takes them. No one has ever come back.
The Lamia is but a hushed whisper on the lips of youth and elders alike. To encounter it, you would find a primal creature driven by urges and desires other members of it's kind can hardly begin to fathom. If forced into a corner, it attacks hard and fast, and without the slightest sympathy for what may happen to you. It's unknown whether it can love or not. At least not like the way you and I do. Many assume she's incapable, and often don't bother to refer to her with female pronouns at all. Only "it".
Though it's commonly assumed that she has a lair of some kind, such a place has never been reportedly found. Believe me when I say that there have been many searches for one; if it could have been entombed and torched in it's own bed, it would have been done years ago. But, as it stands, it's home will likely remain undiscovered. It lives deep under the ground; the massive tunnel system stretches on and on like a labyrinth, and it's innermost chambers cannot be accessed easily. These main chambers, however, are the only places where light reaches, and are where she keeps everything.

It is uncertain how she came across the old, child's toy, but it said that she carries it with her sometimes, as a lure. The little bells chime and bounce with her gaily impetuous movements, and in such a manner, she can easily lead young ones astray without a single word...
