"my favourite part of halloween is most definitely the seasonal spirit that can you just feel dancing
through the air! as soon as october hits the decorations start to go up one by one and a friendly
competition nestles itself in the spaces between each house. pumpkin spice everything gets released
in stores with people going so far as to make pumpkin lasagna - i wonder how that would taste?
it's the one time of year that you get the chance to intentionally scare yourself and it's not
considered abnormal to do so. haunted houses are in full swing and actors adorn terrifying makeup in
an attempt to make you scream. cosplay comes to a global awareness without some even realising it
as people scuttle to find or create a replication of their favourite characters or fairy tale creatures.
then, when the spirits are released on the final eve of october you can watch them run up and down
streets with their parents trailing behind in attempt to gain as many sugary sweets as possible.

that's the one part i don't get about the season: the food. trick-or-treating is cool and all, but it's like
a competition to see who can rot their teeth out the fastest! candy giving is such a superficial part
of the whole tradition and i really think too much emphasis is placed on who can get the most
chocolate. i wish a few more people would open their eyes to the unique and invigorating spirit of
the holiday. what other time do we have a good excuse to cover houses in toilet paper?" *wink*

Every week of Halloween Smiles would rush onto Youtube on his favorite channel, Mr. Creepypasta. To his delight a Halloween countdown of videos would begin, each scarier than the last. He would huddle under his blankie with a bowel of candy as he munched on it out of nervousness. Even though the stories scared him to the point of nearly believing them he loved them anyway. He loved how it got the adrenaline rushing, his heart racing, or feeling a little jumpy only to laugh it off later with a funny video. He must admit, scaring himself silly was too much fun. Which is why creepy pasta marathons during the week of Halloween is his favorite thing.
Least favorite thing about Halloween:
Smiles frowned as he checked his teeth. Sensitive and aching was how his back teeth felt. He even brushed them twice after his candy dinner! But no, karma decided for no good reason to give him yet another cavity. Why couldn’t cavities just not exist? Then everyone would be happy and not have to worry about too many sweets! Well…that would be the only bummer moments he would have during Halloween.

SJ's favourite thing about Halloween is sound of her doorbell. As odd as it may sound, she never tends to get to hear her doorbell on any other occasion. She usually goes to her friends homes or simply to a different location, and the girl doesn't tend to get unexpected visitors. Her doorbell has an innocent and simple 'ding dong' like sound to it that she finds she doesn't get to hear often enough. When Halloween comes and the children come strolling through, the constant ringing of her doorbell is complete music to her ears. While others may get noted by the constant ambush my kids saying 'trick or treat', she can't wait until the next child or set of kid comes to ring her own doorbell. Forget knocking, ring the doorbell all you please. And to be honest... If a child rings her doorbell more the once... They get some extra treats.

Least favorite thing about Halloween:
Well, the thing is... Shalease is an absolute wimp when it comes to Halloween. The gal has never been a fan of the spookiness of the holiday, ever since she was young. Her scare tolerance is low, and often times when she was younger and went out trick-or-treating, whenever an extremely well spooked house came upon her path... She avoided it. Forget the free candy and the treats, look at the skeleton hanging from the tree. There are paws stabbing out of the soil.. Oh lord those scary sounds and fog machines. How about no. She even started to cry once when she was a child when her father forced her to get candy from an extremely scary house. Despite the fact that many see her as a Halloween type of girl, it's her least free candy holiday. Kiamara's usually mistake her extremely low scare tolerance as simply being wimpy. When in reality, even though it's use of Halloween she is alright with such scary things to an extent. You see, SJ has Samhainophobia.. The fear or Halloween in general. She sometimes experiences panic attacks, anxiety, or fear of the dark during this particular holiday and at times when she walks into a store that is advertising halloween decorations. The fact the ringing of her doorbell is the only good thing about Halloween for her, helps her to relax slightly during the holiday. Giving her something to focus on rather then the scary sights and scenes around her.
