username;; bodt
name;; eli (pronounced like ellie)
name reason;; i wanted to stick to three-letter names so his name can follow ebi's, causing a bit of symmetry between them! i thought it would be a cute idea, and on top of that, i think the name would fit him! i know the name is not japanese as it should be, but the whole mirroring names made me scoot away from japanese ones and towards this.
gender;; male [he/him pronouns]
age;; five years old
dream job;; eli has dreamed all of his life of being a marine biologist. he wants to swim with the stingrays and dolphins one day, as nature and specifically the ocean is fascinating to him. as a youthful plumerian, he has an abundance of unreachable dreams, one includes finding every single species of fish. he dreams of touching the bottom of the ocean, but for now he will settle of touching the bottom of his inflatable kiddy pool. eli's biggest dream is working in a highly-popular zoo in the aquarium section.
relationship with ebi;; eli strongly looks up to ebi like any younger sibling would. he often finds himself trying to play games with his brother or bring a card game to play, and finds his mood turning to a sulky mood if he is rejected as his brother tends to be busy most of the time, or he tells the younger plumerian he isn't in the mood to play. eli seeks his older brother's approval and praise more than their parents' which is really saying something, as he usually finds himself growing fond of anyone praising him for a good set of doings. they have their quarrels, like every normal set of siblings do, but it's not often. when ebi asks him to play initially, eli drops what he's doing to spend time with his older brother. ebi is the young plumerian's role model, for sure!
sibling art;; wip
personality;; eli has a gentle demeanor, and no one can ever imagine him even squashing a bug without feeling immensely sorry. he is very conservative and appreciative of nature, especially the sea life, so seeing the commercials about pollution and oil spills make his heart sink. from their military base he can see and hear the ocean, as it is located near the sea, but he can never visit it. he dreams of dipping his paws in the cool water, just to feel like he's closer to his dream job. with this comes immediate fascination - he could stare at the waves for hours before growing bored and heading back indoors, but not without chiming a goodbye to the sea.
he doesn't speak up as much as his brother does, and when they are together, he depends on ebi to speak the words and answer questions for him. he's not bashful, despite his voice being soft and sweet, he just doesn't enjoy speaking. he's on the edge of introversion but despite this, he may bring forward many valid points at any given time; he is very protective of himself and his morals, and will not step down if he supports something worthwhile, surprisingly. this aspect of the silent plumerian confuses and startles many others, but he will not go too far. oftenmost he may be almost unbearably dramatic, but then laughs it off as he goes too far.
likes/dislikes/quirks;;
✔ learning, the ocean, his family, sweet fragrances, mochi ice cream, blueberries, bubble tea, puns, the military base, swimming
✖ change, new things and experiences, being alone, vegetables, bitter foods, pollution, blood, spiders, larger plumies
✰ very easily terrified, hates christmas gifts, tries to do everything himself (if possible), kneads his paws into the ground when nervous
thoughts on ebi moving from the military base;; eli is absolutely terrified for his big brother to leave. all the memories they shared and all the places they played in will vanish from ebi's mind soon enough, and the little plumerian knows this. his brother is his main role model in his life for sure, and he has pleaded to him to let him go with. he is conflicted, though, because that would mean eli would have to say goodbye to his mame and pape (as he calls them) as well! he plans to move out when he's fourteen, but he doesn't want to leave japan. he may just stay and move to tokyo or something, pursuing jobs prioritizing marine life. he wants to attend college in tokyo when he grows older, too.
