Username: Trou
Name: Siren
Gender: Female
Personality:
Siren is a rather distant girl; she keeps herself apart from much of life, watching from the sidelines. When she does interact, she seems cold, bitter, and rather cynical, though this is not because she is cold at heart. Rather, it is because she is afraid to become attached. She is slow to trust and slow to allow others to trust her; in fact, if she feels that someone is becoming too trusting of her, she will purposely snub them, simply to push them away. Not that she doesn't like others; in fact, when another pseudo does gain her trust, she is loyal to the point that she will go to the death for them. She is reluctant to allow this to happen, however, as she is always afraid that she will hurt the ones she loves.
Beyond the icy aloofness, Siren has a strong taste for music. She loves the sound of birdsong, and will try to mimick it, as well as any other beautiful sound she hears. This is only when no-one is around, however; she would hate anyone to know that she has an appreciation for loveliness. Siren is also very intelligent, in a practical way. She is serious and does not laugh at much, but gentle. Very rarely will she allow her emotions to lead, instead relying on common sense and her amazing bank of knowledge.
Regret:
Siren's regret is one that she always hides; it is the thing that has scarred her past, and made her the cold, distant creature she is today. What hurts Siren the worst, is the fact that it came not from her capacity for darkness, but her capacity for love.
When she was younger, she had a friend- a very close friend, who was a sister to Siren. This pseudo's name as Lorelie, and Siren and Lor(as she was called) grew up together, took care of one another, and loved one another as if they really were family. Each knew the other's hearts as if they were their own. There could not have been two closer friends.
While Siren had always been serious, in those days she was not so reserved, and she lived and loved and made friends. Lor was bright and outgoing, funny, fun-loving, and always ready to laugh. Because of this, she had many, many friends, though was close to none but Siren. However, she would of course spend time with these other friends. Siren did not know them well, and so usually she stayed behind and was lonely for as long as Lor was with them. Over time, this happened more and more often; but Siren, trusting her friend, never wondered why she was spending less time with her, and only waited for when Lor would return. She would be bitter, however, and weep alone some salty tears.
One day, Lor returned to Siren with another pseudo- a male named Leviathan. She declared to her long-time friend that she was in love with Lev. What's more, she planned on becoming Lev's mate, and on moving out of the den she and Siren shared into Leviathan's den. Leviathan was handsome, Siren could tell, with a kind of charm, but his eye gleamed with nothing that was good, and Siren distrusted him. Lor, however, on hearing Siren's warnings, accused Siren of jealousy; there was a fight, and Lor left for Leviathan.
Time passed; Lor and Siren still spent time with each other, and they remained friends, but nothing like it was before. Siren still bared her heart to her friend's, but it seemed to her that Lor had closed to her, and no longer shared everything with her. Also, Lor never seemed her proper self; she was less outgoing, and often lapsed into silence. Siren suspected that some foulness was going on with Leviathan, and determined that she would visit the den, to see what was going on. Lor hurriedly brushed Siren off, however, saying that a visit was not necessary, and perhaps they could get together again in Siren's den?
Siren determined to go anyway, and see what was really going on, despite the fact that Lor so keenly wanted her to stay away. As dusk fell, a few days later, Siren swung down from the trees to visit Lor and Lev's den. It was dark within, and she had difficulty seeing. Nervously, she entered in, calling out to Lor. At first there was no answer; then she heard snarling, in Lev's voice, and fearful sounds that were clearly Lorelie. She heard words that sounded like "get out" and "go away", and assuming Leviathan would come to make her leave, Siren prepared herself to fight.
Sure enough, a dark shape plummeted towards her, screaming at her to leave with malice in its eyes. Baring her teeth, Siren leapt at it, until it lay lifeless below her. Triumphant, Siren called into the den for Lor, saying that she was freed; but the pseudo that emerged from the depths was not Lorelie, but Leviathan. Grieved and afraid, Siren fled until she could flee no more. Guilt overwhelmed her. She had tried to protect her sister and friend- and had killed her instead.
