1. What color were Dorothy's "ruby red slippers" originally? She wore silver shoes, but was changed to Ruby for the movie to take advantage of the fact it was a Technicolor movie.
2. What was used to make the "horses of a different color" change colors in the film? What was humorous about this? There were four different horses used. The makers were not allowed to die the horses, so they tinted the horses with lemon, cherry and grape powdered gelatin. They had to make sure the horses didn't lick the powder off!
