You walk down a street and suddenly a guy wearing a strange pink shirt
bumps into you. "Oh, sorry didn't see ya. My name is Bob nice to meet you, pthhpth."
Even though he seems a bit strange to you you also decide to introduce yourself.
"That's a nice name. Oh it's already that late,phhtpht? I need to go, bye!"
You decide to just forget this strange conversation but then you notice
something on the ground: a comic! You decide to pick it up and return it to to Bob who
probably lost it. Some people told you the way to his house so you assume he must be
pretty well known in this town. After a while you reach his house, but no one is
there. Suddenly you hear a 'pthhpth' from somewhere behind you. You turn around and
see Bob sitting near the river fishing and reading some comics while waiting for a fish.
He turns around as he hears your footsteps. "Hello, haven't we already met today,pthhpth?
Oh you found my comic! Thank you so much but I already bought a new one, you can keep
it if you want though. " You sigh and wonder why you even came here. "If you want you
can have some cake and tea. It should be ready right know, I just need to take it out of
the oven,pthhpth!" You think about it for a few seconds but some
how he seems really friendly so sou nod. You follow him inside the house and hear
K.K. Ragtime playing. As you look around you realize that he hasn't just a strange
sense for fashion but also for furniture. He gives you a cup of tea but for himself
he makes some coffee. "No sugar, no milk. The perfect coffee,pthhpth!" Then he
hands you a plate with a piece of chocolate cake and you talk a little bit.
But as you ask him why he always makes that weird noise he just replies with:
"What do you mean,pthhpth?". You decide to don't ask him about this anymore.
He tells you that he really likes video games and comics and what his
favorites are but the most time he talks about food. He spend most of the time
listing all his favorite foods which was nearly every food. After a time you don't listen
to him anymore but then you realize his strange yellow eye color. You continue staring
at those... strange eyes and you tell him about it.
"Huh? I thought this is pretty normal. However could you please leave now?
I still want to catch some fish before dinner,pthhpth."
When you arrived at your house you think about what just happened. You sat with a
strange guy with a strange shirt and a strange eye color in a strange house after
having a strange conversation. The whole situation was pretty... well, strange.
You sigh and decide to don't think about it anymore...

The Escape (499 words)

You grab your DS like you usually do everyday. You turn it on and put in the animal crossing game cartridge, turning on the game. Of course, it was just a normal day in your town. The villagers were out and doing the usual, the tree and plants seemed normal, but you could tell that there was something… off. You ignored the fact and pulled out your fishing rod and went to the small pond near the recycling building. As you got closer you noticed a small purple figure fishing at the pond. You have never seen this villager before, nor have you seen any new houses being build around your town. Maybe he was visiting? So, you thought the most logical thing was to go and talk to him… or her, you couldn’t tell because of the floral bandana. You clicked on him and he starts to talk to you…

Hello there mayor! I haven’t met you yet, have I? My name is bob! Pthhpth

Nice to meet you. Are you new here? I haven’t seen you around.

You get no response. He goes back to fishing, so you just ignore it and start to fish too. You notice him look over at you and up at the screen once in a while. You then notice his lazy-looking eyes, the yellow in them making it look like they are glowing. The game glitches and buzzes, and you drop your DS in surprise, the sudden buzz jolting your hands. You stare at the game and watch as the new villager you just met, bob, gets a little too close to the screen. You scoot back on your bed in astonishment as you watched this giant purple kia starts to… to… climb out of your screen?! But how?! You sat and stared as bob shook his last leg out of the tiny DS. First, how did this happen?! Second, how did he fit through that small screen?!

“Hello there mayor! It is so nice to finally meet you in person! You look nothing like the mayor I know in the game though…” he says as he looks you up in down.

“How did you… how… How are you here right now?!” you yell as you stare at him.

“I know some tricks, pthhth,” he says with a smile. “So, mayor, where are the other villagers?” he asks as he looks around, expecting to see other people around him other than you.

“They aren’t here… They shouldn’t be here!” you say.

“Oh, well, that is a bummer! Oh hey, do you have any sea bass by any chance?” he asks.

“Um… no…” you say as you sit up.

“Oh, well, I guess I will just have to stay with you then!” he says with a cheery smile.

“I-I guess so…?” you say in confusion. Over time, you let the kia live in your small one bedroom apartment, and it all went down pretty smoothly.
