Story;;
Rinni was a normal deer who didn't feel liked. She was always laughed at for being boring and having barely any emotions, which was indeed true. She was fed up with the teasing and she couldn't bear looking at the faces that taunted her day by day, seeing if they could make her display emotion.

She finally gave up, but not in the way her bullies wanted her to. She had disappeared, not a single trace left of the deer. Her parents were devastated, but Rinni knew they had her perfect little sister, who would make everything much easier for her parents. Rinni wasn't one to leave her parents defenseless, so the little sister could take care of her mother and father while she was off, trying to cool herself down from the rage that had boiled up inside of her after all of the teasing.

She ran for miles and miles, every now and then stopping to catch her breath. She would hear a single twig snap and she would be back on her way. She found herself at an abandoned mine left by humans and she proceeded to go inside. She sat down on the cool, rocky ground and did some deep breathing exercises. It didn't stop her from getting up in a fit of rage and bucking into the walls multiple times with her back hooves and all of her energy.

She gasped as the walls started too shake and she bounded around helplessly, her screams echoing around the inside of the mine. She raced towards the opening and shrieked as huge rocks fell from above, blocking the entrance. It turned out that the mine had been abandoned because of how unstable it was. Rinni sure did find that out.

She decided to live in the mine, making her blind to light, since her eyes were only used to the dark. She also had to digest coal since there was no vegetation she could live off of down in the cold depths of the earth, soon enough it started sprouting from her back and she became what she is today.

She was named Coraline at birth - a rather beautiful name.
But as the years progressed she was addressed as 'Cora' more often.

H e r....S t o r y :
Coraline was born a very beautiful deerssert - a perfectly healthy fawn; a blessing for her parents. She was much loved and cared for.
Her life took a different turn though when one one fine afternoon, she and her friend, Casla wandered off a long way from their parents. They were young and were enjoying themselves. When it dawned on them that they were maybe too apart from their parents, dusk had started to settle in. In their hurry to find their parents, they got more lost.
Suddenly they came upon a rather large cave opening. As night had begun to fall, the two fawns decided to take shelter in the caves till morning. With beating hearts, they entered the cave and settled down. Sleep came eventually.
But Coraline woke up in the middle of the night. What woke her up was a peculiar noise from inside the cave. Her childish curiousity got hold of her and ignoring her instincts, she crept in to the heart of the cave. Soon the path began to slant down and become narrow and dark.
It was not a cave you see, it was an abandoned mine shaft; but little Coraline didn't know that. Let me narrate to you quickly what happened to her in the mine shaft. Going deeper, she soon lost her way through the winding dark tunnels. And then the peculiar noise stopped. Eerie silence followed. What happened next was shocking.
A big thunderous noise shook the tunnels and in her hurry to escape Coraline didn't see the red gas hurtling through the tunnels towards her. It was some sort of a radiation - it was the reason the mine had been abandoned. When the radiation engulfed her she fainted from the pain she felt.
In the morning, she woke and found her way to the entrance of the cave. When her friend Casla saw her she screamed and bolted away.
Bewildered, Coraline followed.....until she spotted her reflection in a nearby lake. What stared back at her, made her skin creep and her eyes weep. What had she become? Had the red gas in the tunnels done this to her? Heart-broken the little doe decided she cannot return to her loving parents like this. What would they say?! She retreated back to the mine shaft....as she had a become a creature of the dark, a freak of nature...her body had turned coal grey, horns had sprouted on her face and fangs had appeared.
She soon became blind and then the coal started to grow from her body. As time progressed she lost her sanity and now lives alone in the dark tunnels of the abandoned mine shaft doing nothing at all.....After all, the truly insane never doubt their sanity.

H e r.....B e s t.....F r i e n d :
After retreating back to the cave, Coraline found that she wasn't the only inhabitant of the cave. Oh..no, she found a friend, who was just as lonely as she is. Her best friend is a mole called Snip. He is a rather bossy and hot-tempered...but is otherwise a good guy from the heart.

When Coraline was a normal fawn, she was very fond of her mother. They shared a great relationship and were very close. One of the memories she still has of her mother is the beautiful orchids she wore in hair everyday. As a little girl, she used to be dazzled by them and wanted to wear them on her hair too. Some three years after she got her mutations and became a permanent resident of the mineshaft, her friend, Snip, one day went out of the cave and brought back an orchid with him. Now, Coraline never went outside, so she cherished that little orchid as it was her key to the outer world and the only memory of her long lost mother.
