Like every Saturday night, there I was walking alone on a beach searching for strange or special objects for my collection. Around my neck hung an anchor and tiny ship in a bottle which shone in the moonlight. As I stalked across the sandy beach, my gaze swept over the shores. Wave's crashed against the beach and what a noise that was, it was peaceful to me and I felt as if I belonged here, walking across the beach at night just enjoying myself as the breeze ruffled my fur. I had been there for a few hours and I hadn't found anything but a few broken shells and maybe a grumpy crab or two. Trust me when I say I wasn't quite happy to find them either, as their claws hurt, especially if they weren't happy. But my spirits were still high and I smiled as I gazed around, my paws leaving paw prints in the sand behind me before they were washed away in the waves. Yes, it was dark and though you might be asking how I could even find anything this late at night, I know I could see better during the day but there was always so many people at the beach then, and at night you only occasionally came across anyone so it was more peaceful during the night. I enjoyed coming here with my family sometimes, I loved the peace as we talked and I think those occasional walks bring us closer.. It reminds me of when I was young and my parents would take me and my brother to the beach, I'd search for things and my brother would be making things with his rope. I sighed, those memories were ones I adored, it always reminded my how no matter if we get into or fight or happen to get mad at each other for one silly reason or another, we will always be a family and love each other, no matter what. As I walked I noticed a dark shape in the distance in the water. At first I took no notice of it, set if off as just being a dolphin. But as it grew closer and closer to the shore I grew scared, I wondered what would happen if the dolphin got too close to the shore, I knew it wouldn't survive if it got stuck on the beach. So I walked out into the water, shivering as the cold water splashed against my fur, soaking me in only seconds. I tried making loud noises and splashing the water around to try and scare it from the beach but the black shape only came closer, slowly but surely if it didn't turn away it would be stuck on the beach. But in minute's it came close enough for me to see it clearly, and I laughed at how silly I was. It wasn't a dolphin, but a small treasure chest. I pulled it to the shore and opened it up, the old lock breaking open easily. It was filled with water and was moldy and rotten in some places, but inside I found a bright blue jewel. I took the chest home and fixed it up, replacing the old wood and locks. The jewel I found out was a sapphire when I took it to a jeweler, who polished it and made it into a charm for me to hang on my tail. It now has a skull and bones in the center of it, the same one you'd find on a pirate flag. And I am quite proud of my newly found treasures, knowing this memory is one I would never forget.
