Yes, it happened a very long time ago. But the memory still burns fresh in my mind. It is a permanent scar that can never be erased. So why bother trying to forget it?
...
You might not remember, you might not even know, but there used to be congregational gathering places, where deersserts would flock from near and wide to sit in these allotted areas of time called ''classes.'' These gathering places were simply called ''school.''
I can feel that you seem puzzled... Of course, your newfangled technology now inhibits the need for these rather inefficient practices, so they have become obsolete.
Well, now you seem to have an air of amusement about you. You might even want to visit one? Well, now that's a tall order. You see, maybe once or twice it would be intriguing, but if you trudge along to the same place, the same time, every single day, then, it might become as monotonous as a movie from the 17-whatever's. No plot, no adventure, no... nothing. Every day it was the same. Same old, same old...
Except for one day.
There was a contest.

Every-deer's ears perked up, something new, at last! I was joyous as well, for the dim grey spell of the doldrums was about to be broken.
The objective of the contest was to grow a plant. Could be a flower, a potato, any plant. The plant would then be judged.. and the most ''impressive'' one would be victorious.
Ah, I had no experience whatsoever in gardening. What could I do? What kind of plant would I even choose? What did they even mean by ''impressive''?
As I trotted home, pensive from pondering these questions, my hooves came upon three or so small circles, hard to tell apart from the earth itself. As a natural impulse, I collected them into the jar I always carried dangling around my neck.
I came home to the familiar wooden desk I always sat behind, contemplating things. I emptied the contents of the jar. It was always a favorite pastime of mine, examining the novelties one could find if they payed attention to the ground hard enough.
So I studied the precious treasures I had found in the day's travels. A smooth stone, a bottle cap from centuries ago (it crumbled to dust in my hooves), a piece of tree bark that had interesting holes throughout, a dried skeleton of a leaf, oh there was much more... Finally, I came upon the last objects. The aforementioned small circular ones. I held them in my hoof, up to the receding sunlight, and I noticed, something that was not there before. I surely would have noticed if it had been there before. The warmth of the sun was absent in a larger area than of the brownish circular objects alone. I brushed my nose against it. The new appendage was stringy, and had small hairs... and it felt.. alive.

Of course! It was a root... These objects were seeds. I decided that these were the seeds I would use for the plant contest...

I pressed my hoof into the earth, and threw the seeds in at a small distance from each other, hoping for the best.
A few days later, three sprouts poked their leafy heads from the soil. I was overjoyed!
Catastrophically, the sprouts began to weaken over the next days... they wilted and languished... Two became nonexistent.
I became obsessed over tending to the last one. It was my only hope of staying free from the tedious days of my past... It became the only reason I continued to exist. The weakened sprout must have sensed my desperation... it slowly grew stronger.
Then, more quickly. The sprout began to wrap around the foundations of my home, overtaking it with tall vines entwined around it...
It became dotted with delicate flowers, small and clumped in groups. From prior knowledge, I could identify them as Forget-Me-Nots, though they seemed unusually strong and tall for those small flowers.
...
I had no name at the time, because I simply could never think of one that suited me. Back then names were an arbitrary thing. But now, obsessed over these flowers, I decided my name would be Forget-Me-Not. It had a nice ring to it, the words rolled off of my tongue pleasantly.

The stems grew larger and larger each day, until my home was engulfed with them.
...
It was judging day.
The judge deersserts would be coming around to each contestant deerssert to see what they had grown. When they came to me, they just stood there. I could feel an air of tension, and shock. They began to whisper. A growing crowd of contestant deersserts began to form behind the judges.. "I can't believe it... " I could hear.
Then, one bold deerssert, whose envy and resentment I could practically feel sweep over me, stepped out and shrieked: "SHE CHEATED!!!"
Murmurs of agreement escaped the crowd. I felt hollow, as if a big boulder came rolling down on me, and I hadn't the least bit of strength to resist. I hadn't done anything wrong... why would she accuse me of this?!
The shrieking deerssert continued, "IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR HER TO GROW SOMETHING SO.. IMPRESSIVE! SHE'S... BLIND!"
Others stomped their feet in agreement... I could hear the voices of the judges, clear and distinct. I expected them to be impartial. I expected them to set me free from this agony. Truly they would understand! They would understand that one cannot make accusations like that... Surely they could feel her jealousy. My heart fluttered in my chest as I turned to the judges hopefully...

But they did the exact opposite. "You're right," one of them said gruffly. "Let's move on, contestant 192 has been disqualified."
I could hear the sqwaaaak of the marker twice as they crossed me out on the list....
I felt like I was falling, falling through space... into a black hole... I trembled, unable to speak. It was like everyone was chasing after me, everyone was against me. Spirals of sorrow churned within me like untamed waves, enraged and bitter, but helplessly lapping at the shore, pacing in their cages like dogs. Tormented, tortured dogs behind bars. Prisoners. Innocent prisoners.
I was innocent, of no fault. Oh, but they did not know! Their ignorance prevented them from seeing the truth. It only mattered, what they thought, not what I knew.
No one trusted me anymore. Whenever I passed by a group of deer, they would become quiet and whisper. I could easily hear them, no matter their futile attempts to hide their words. I could hear, "there goes the cheater, shh she's coming, you wouldn't want to associate with cheaters.." and other mangled words having to do with me cheating. They wouldn't forget ever. They never seemed to. How ironic, that I chose my name to be Forget-Me-Not. Because they really never forgot.

And so, my once-good name marred in my prime, I decided to leave. I will wander and roam for all of eternity. There is nothing else I can do.

Username: My name is Oddly Shaded, you're more than welcome to call me 'Oddly' or 'Shade'. I do not own a deerssert as of yet, but have a deep passion for deer and enjoy drawing them. I hope that #192 can be my first deerssert and I will be able to love her forever.

Name: Estrella

Nickname: Her closes friends use the nickname 'Est' which is simply the shortened version of 'Estrella'. Though when introducing herself to new deersserts, she introduces herself as 'Stella'. Which is the Latin version of her name. She feels for new people to know her as 'Stella' allows them to remember her name quicker rather than wondering what the 'Est' was.

Name Meaning: 'Estrella' is Spanish for Star. I chose this name due to it's divine sound. The name rolls off the tongue very easily, and is a wonderful suiting name. The reason it suits her so incredibly well is due to the fact it relates to her design. Being designed in relation to stars the Spanish word for star, 'Estrella' works so amazingly well.

Estrella is most certainly a female. Those silvery locks could never say otherwise!

Deersserts are about the size of Border Collies.

Though she is very petite, Estrella is on the larger side of deerssert height being the same if not larger than most.

Estrella is a hetrosexual. She finds it difficult to find the perfect buck, but has been looking her whole life.

Estrella is on the older side of deersserts ages. She is seen as a middle aged doe.

Seeing as Estrella's birthday is April 8th, her zodiac is Aries. Being a believer in horoscopes, she often enjoys making me read her the yearly horoscope from astrology.com. Although lucky for me each day comes a new spoken daily horoscope (so I don't have to read her one every day!)

Even though Estrella is an Aries, her constellation is actually Picses. The constellation has a solar stay of 38 days with it's brightest star 'Eta Piscium'. The reason for her constellation not being Aries' (Hamal) is due to the fact that constellations have an extra zodiac called 'Ophiuchus' which takes extra days for it's constellation (Rasalhague). I find this information very relevant to Estrella as she has a star based design.

Estrella is very quiet and rarely speaks. She prefers to listen. But she speaks 1 language fluently and 2 others partially. Her fluent language is English, as she was born into an English environment. She also speaks Spanish, and a small amount of French.

Est was born in Spain, as weird as that sounds. Though she is a deerssert, she is of high quality blood line. Though born in Spain she was born into an English environment.

Allergies:

Estrella is mildly allergic to direct sunlight. If exposed too long she burns on the whiter part of her body and will also begin to rash. Due to this she tends to live her days in caves or under large covering trees until dark where she frolics. Even though she cannot tell this, hense why she has a small companion to protect her from her blindness.

Estrella has no known phobias.

Fears:

Though Stella does not have any phobias, this does not mean she is not afraid. In fact she is afraid of many things. These things include;

• Being unable to care for herself
• Loosing her sense of hearing as well as sight.

• Adaptable:
- Being able to adapt has been something Estrella not only struggles with, but does incredibly well. Her blindness holds her back in times of distress but she has been able to adapt to listening for instructions from her barn Owl Prudence if in distress. This adaption has saved her life many times. Though this is not the only example. Estrella also constantly needs to adapt to her surroundings and grow every day to understand the changes.
• Caring:
- Though Estrella is a very shy doe, she is incredibly caring. Using what skill she has to help those around her. If Estrella had no one to care about she would simply be on her own, and for a blind deerssert to be on their own... She could end up being someones dessert dinner.
• Courageous:
- Being blind has allowed Estrella to become incredibly courageous. Though she fears new territory, she allows herself to find the courage to explore. You could say her courage has 2 wings and a beak. But being brave enough to embrace the world head on is a massive step.
• Delicate:
- Yes, we get it, Estrella is a delicate little flower that blossoms under sky fall. She's such a sweet little doe and bruises quite quickly when she run into something. Her movements reflect a delicate elegance found in only a few, and for a blind doe to be such an exquisite elegant creature, it is mind boggling.
• Friendly:
- Estrella may be shy on her own, but with having Prudence by her side to give her the courage to face new deer allowing her to find friends quite easily and quickly. She could never get on anyone's bad side, and anyone who puts her there doesn't deserve her company.
• Gentle:
- Being a very caring, friendly and lovable doe she finds a gentleness about her. She is gentle to her surrounding, as long as she knows what is around her, and is cautious of other critters and beings around her. A gentle soul indeed.
• Independent:
- Well, at least she things so. Estrella tries to be as independent as possible. As long as she knows her surroundings she happily wonders around on her own.
• Optimistic:
- Though Estrella cannot see her future, she is optimistic it is a bright one. She is optimistic that new deersserts she met will be friendly, or plain and simply that the world is a beautiful place to be. Her optimism is leaking all over the place!
• Tolerant:
- Estrella has found tolerance for those petty inconsiderate fools who mock her for her blindness and is capable of holding her composure while she and Prudence deal with such rudeness. Though her tolerance is not only found with foes, it is also found in when she travelling and finds herself accidently walking into trees...
• Witty:
- Such a wise deer. Or as the saying goes, "she has her wits about her". Being capable of wisdom and wit is a very difficult for Estrella, but take to big of a step or get too cocky you may find yourself in the dirt.

• Listening to the creatures of the Night - The delightful sound of owls, crickets and cicadas' are a joy for Estrella because of the fact they're quiet and enjoyable noises that are unique to their own.

• Orchestral Music - Listening to soft orchestral music is calming to Est and is very enjoyable to listen to.

• Rudeness - The ignorance and rudeness of deersserts and creatures alike is not mistakable. It is incredibly evident when speaking to others the intension of their words. & Estrella doesn't enjoy the company of such arrogant individuals.
• Trees - Estrella strongly dislikes trees due to their, strong, ability to withstand Estrella's face as she walks into them. They're the most annoying thing when Est is out and about.
• The sun - Though Estrella doesn't know how bright it is nor what it looks like, she doesn't like the intense warmth it provides, not to mention the severe burning she receives from it if in the sunlights grasp.
• Loud noises and places - If Estrella cannot hear what is going on around her in loud places it creates anxiety and freaks her out.
• Feeling of distress & anxiety - An obvious dislike for a rather calm and gentle deerssert is being distressed. It doesn't allow her to focus which can become very difficult in certain situations.

Estrella's theme song is Heart of Courage by Two Steps from Hell. This song suits her in so many ways it's incredible. I want people to be able to image her when they listen to this song. The emotion behind the song put straight into Estrella's soul. Accessories:

1. Estrella has a 2 piece hair accessory made of silver chain & Diamonds. The piece basically clips from the base of the right ear across the to the left with a pin in the middle ( on the left side of the cream on her head). From the middle to the right side another joint piece of chain connects dangling slightly lower in a larger curve. The 2nd part of this accessory is similar to the first piece also it is removable. This piece connects the same places under each ear and across but dangles lower with a diamond attached at the bottom, to a connected piece of chain in the middle. Pieces of chain dangle down from this piece a few with diamonds at the ends.

2. Estrella has a similar piece to the one found on her head placed on the left side of her flowing mane. This piece connects in 2 spots close together (About an inch between) with a 2 other chain pieces dangling lower. Where each side connects to the chain dangles 1 (left side) and 2 (right side) pieces of chain with diamonds on the ends. One of the 2 on the right side is formed into the shape of a star. This item is also used as a 'hair tie' to put Estrella's hair into a bun.

3. The 3rd items Stella has is a charm braclet which is placed on the back right leg. It houses diamond charms on silver chain. Some shaped in the form of stars, others lucky charms (For example a clover and horse shoe). This piece has a dangling silver chain that connect multiple times to the main chain.

Hair Styles:

1. "Free in the Wind" - This hair style is the most common hair style you will find Estrella with. It is down and flowing with the wind! This is her reference hair style. Her hair piece (#2) is placed mid way down her flowing locks.

2. "Frozen" - This hair style is similar to Elsa's hair from the hit movie Frozen. Her hair is in a thick plait to one side ad her fringe is either out, or pined back (to give the effect of Elsa's hair). The fringe is pinned with one of the clips from her fringe item (Item #1) and the plait utilizes the hair accessory (Item #2) to hold it in place. & no im not like crazy about Frozen or anything, I just thought I'd be the best way to explain the hair style... Ok I do LIKE Frozen... But... >.>

3. "Bun it Up" - as mentioned in accessories, occasionally she wears her hair in a bun. The bun is a rather loose bun places up and sits slightly lop sides onto the left side. There are a few strands dangling down. It is pinned there with the hair piece (Item #2).

Would your Deerssert go to a group party with other Deersserts? If so, how would they feel about it?

Estrella would prefer not to party with the others due to the probability of it being incredibly loud. She would go if it were a quiet evening or if she could chill in the corner where the music is dull.

Do your deer consider life as half-empty or half-full?

Life is half empty for Estrella, there is so much more exploring to be done, so many more scents and sounds to discover and so much more time to enjoy what she has.

What do your deersserts mainly look for in a mate?

Estrella isn't looking for company of this sort at the moment. But if she were to find the right mate his qualities would include; Caring, Gentle, Considerate, Sweetnatured, adventurous, level headed, cheeky.

If your Deersserts were stranded on an island, what would have with them?

Estrella would have her faithful companion Prudence to help guide her away from danger.

If your Deersert was represented by one colour, what would it be and why?

Estrella would be represented by a galaxy blue. The colour blue, though Estrella cannot see it, represents her so incredibly well as not only is it a part of her coat, but it also has such wonderful traits. The colour blue represents softness, gentleness, and caring qualities which portray Estrella perfectly.

Does your deerssert make friends more easily if they have the same personality or if they are opposites?

With Estrella it generally is similar. Because she is so caring, opposites would put Estrella in danger. So generally her friends are the same or inbetween.

If your deerssert got into a fight with their best friend, would they rather make up and become friends again or ditch them for another deerssert?

Estrella would prefer not to get into a fight with them in the first place and she would not be the instigator of the fight so of course she would prefer to make up with her friend.

Would your deerssert rather be poor for a day and gain friends, or rich for a day and loose friends?

Quite an Easy one, Estrella would prefer to be poor and gain more friends than rich and loose them.

If your deerssert was a human, would you be friends with them?

If Estrella was a human I would want to be around her constantly. She is the type of personality that would draw friends in rather than kick them away.

Does your deerssert collect or hoard anything?

Though i haven't thought too much into, she would collect feathers.

What's your deersserts first memory?

Estrella remembers darkness. She remembers the soothing sound of her parents, but she doesn't remember much else.

What element would your deerssert be?

Estrella would be one of these three; Darkness, Light, Air.

Does your deerssert prefer the land or the sea?

Estrella prefers to keep all hooves firmly places on dry land, its easier for her to navigate when she isn't wading in water!

What's your deerssert's favourite holiday?

Estrella doesn't really have a favourite holiday, Christmas she can't enjoy the lights, Halloween she can't see the costumes, New years she cants see the fireworks nor does she enjoy the loud bangs, Easter she can't find the eggs. Therefore she doesn't enjoy holidays all that much. But she does enjoy the food holidays brings!

Has your Deersert ever gone to a place, but weren't sure how they got there?

Yes, on many occasions Estrella accidently wanders into forbidden lands.... >.>

What would your deerssert(s) do if they found themselves stuck on a deserted island?

Estrella would walk around in circles. Nah jokes! Since Prudence would be with her, Est would request prudence to find help. Estrella would be safe because, well, its a deserted island.

If your deerssert were another animal which animal would they be and why?

She'd be a Barn owl, this is presented in the form of Prudence. Which I haven't given too much thought but it could be an interesting thing to develop. Ie. Prudence is actually Estrella from the next life sent back to protect her? It could be interesting!

Does your deerssert have any goals or dreams?

I can't say much about goals, but her dream is to be able to see the stars gleaming above her. Reminds me of the story of Rapunzel, except the tower represents blindness.

If you had to describe your deerssert in one word, what would it be?

Estrella doesn't enjoy animae, but I think if she could see, her favourite would be Clannad.

What color on a mood ring best suits your deerssert?

Definitely blue, its a cool and calm colour which reflects Estrella well
