Although he's been an insomniac
ever since he was little,
chamomile helps him to relax
enough to get some rest.

Growing up in the midst of a never-ending
war; Levi should have been accustomed to
the occasional bomb warnings, evacuation
sirens, and even the bright red flares that
that shimmered and and danced through
the night sky.
He wasn't.
At a very young age, Levi would become
so frightened that he simply couldn't sleep.
He would curl up next to his parents and
stare at the glowing stars taped to his
ceiling, which reminded him that everything
would be alright someday.
This quickly grew into full-fledged insomnia;
The culprit behind his failing grades and
horrible social life.
His mother would remedy this by brewing
her own blend of chamomile tea for him,
allowing him to rest enough enough during
the day for him to function properly.
When Levi turned twelve (human) years old,
the city was ordered to evacuate to safehouses
underground due to the increasing violence
of the war.
It was a hard time for everyone, but Levi and his
family made it through on the bare minimum.
Tired of the artificial lighting, living in poverty,
and with no real friends to speak of;
Levi enlisted in the military when he was
nineteen. His agility and quick mind
put him in the scouting unit, where he felt
like he belonged. He was shocked finding out
that his comrades would gladly lay down
their lives for him.

Levi has always been rather distant, not wanting
to push his ideas or beliefs onto other people.
He has horrible teamwork skills from being an
only child, and never having friends when he was
young.
Levi is very vocal, often making unwanted remarks.
He's rather headstrong and will quickly forget his
common sense when rushing into things.
Levi has a sharp wit and a dry, sarcastic sense of
humor that not many people find pleasant to be
around.
He, however, does genuinely care about people,
including his family, friends and comrades,
who he treats with respect and love.

As you already know, Levi has been an
insomniac almost his whole life. It's gotten
slightly better from his childhood years,
but he still spends the majority of his nights
awake.
He also suffers from obsessive compulsive
disorder, which he gained from cleaning
and organizing his family's house on nights
he couldn't sleep.
Although he has OCD, this doesn't stop him
from having horrible handwriting. It's
nearly illegible!
Levi isn't a morning person, and will stay
grumpy all day if you get him in a foul mood
early.
