Name: Belau (a group of 100 Caroline islands out in the pacific)
He was named this because he had always meant to go out to sea, but sadly he lives in a landlocked state with not much opportunity to be on a vast ocean, like the pacific. But luckily he does live on a small lake somewhere in the Midwest.
Gender: male
Favorite place: navy pier in Chicago, since he's never been to the ocean (much like me) he wants to get the feel of what it's like to be able to look out until the land meets the sky. Navy pier is a good way of seeing such a beautiful thing. Since I am taking a trip to Chicago soon, I thought Belau would like to travel with me. Like I had expected, the whole car ride there, he sat with his beak to the window, wagging his tail excitedly. The sun was setting when we had arrived at the hotel, so I put his favorite scarf on him and we headed straight for the pier. As he looked off at the orange glowing waters of the enormous lake, he smiled cheerfully, his scarf dancing in the wind.
