Personality: To understand Twist, you will have to view the world through her eyes. She sees the world as a scary, judgmental place. She puts a "shield" up in uncomfortable situations, usually all situations where she's not close friends with someone there. This shield of hers protects her from imperfection and judgment from others. Twist thinks that people will judge her and see her as imperfect if she makes even the smallest slip-up. Her shield protects her vulnerable parts with fake shyness, clumsiness, and awkwardness. She tries to make herself stand out as little as possible so that someone doesn't try to communicate with her. Twist's greatest fear is voicing her opposing opinion to strangers. This obsession with perfectionism and fear of judgment hasn't been with her forever; it has slowly been building up her whole life. During her childhood, Twist was taught that she was above average because of her special appearance. It was expected of her to excel at everything: as you can imagine this put tremendous pressure on her. She had to deal with constant jealousy from other foals and even some adults, and didn't know how to handle it. Her lack of markings, seen as a blessing to others, was a burden and a curse to Twist. Now, she doesn't understand that it's okay to be less than the best; Twist feels like she has failed if she doesn't come in first place. She is a perfectionist and her asymmetrical blaze has bothered her for the longest time. Twist is not oblivious. She knows that she has a problem with perfectionism and her greatest wish is to be free from the burden of constant expectation from her parents, her herd members, and herself.
There are certain equids that have the privilege of knowing the other side of Twist. These equids -- her friends -- are trusted and loved enough for Twist to act comfortable and let her guard down around. She is very particular in her choice of friends and allies; she enjoys spending time with intelligent, spontaneous, witty, kind equids. These friends are the few that know how Twist really is, behind her shield. Beneath her armor, you will find a sassy, confidant, intelligent, caring, kind equid. Twist is quite fun to be around if she feels comfortable and safe from judgment. She's quite sensitive, but hides her deepest emotions and insecurities from even her friends. So, I am going all out for Gracie here. I love her to bits already, but since I'm going to be typing a lot I wanted to make her personality easier to read. PM me if this counts as messing with the form >w<

Mindset - How Grace Thinks:
1. Optimist - For Grace, the glass is always half full. No matter how dark the world may seem, no matter how hopeless the situation is, there is always some good buried deep within. Grace always seems to see the bright side, to find the tiny kernel of light smothered by temptation and greed. She will always look up, never down. What makes this such a great mindset for her is that she can always make others happy, and always keep the world around her from crumbling into pieces. Her optimism keeps her world spinning, keeps her universe in balance.
2. Impossible - Nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible. Grace is a believer in doing, and in proving those who think you can't wrong. Not even the sky is the limit to Gracie. She will swim an ocean to make you believe that what you dream is possible, and that what you have grown up believing you cannot do is really something that you can be amazing at. Gracie will always believe in the spirit of others, no matter how much they themselves might not believe.
3. Love - Some say love and hate are strong words. Grace disagrees. What makes this world beautiful is the contrast, the sharp line some people see drawn between feelings. What makes this world amazing is how many opinions, how many beliefs, how many relationships there are, how much people think that love means getting married, or joining together for a night with the one you love. Grace sees these opinions, and she loves them. She loves that the world is so diverse, that so many opinions are found on our planet that no one can ever be completely right. She loves how our world keeps evolving, changing, adapting, thanks to the endless opinions and feelings that are never quite the same for two people. Grace loves these things with such devotion, such fire, such love. To her, our world is something beautiful that we all must love and cherish the way she does.
4. Compassion - Everyone deserves to be the recipient of compassion. They could be murderers, liars, thieves. But that doesn't mean they aren't alive. That doesn't mean they don't feel, that they don't think, that they don't live and breathe the same air we do. That means that they need the help of others, that they need the compassion we can give, that they need to feel loved and welcome. Without compassion these lost souls would never find their way back to forgiveness. Compassion does not mean ending all temptation, for without temptation and evil there would be no joy and happiness in the world. Compassion means accepting these diseases eating away at society, and caring enough to forgive anyways.
5. Acceptance - There is no difference between people. It doesn't matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican, it doesn't matter if you don't go to Church on Sundays or fast Yom Kippur, it doesn't matter that you like someone who is the same gender as you. What you believe in is your decision, your choice, your wish in life. Grace accepts these differences for what they are, and they are what makes us unique in every way. She accepts these differences and the beauty that resonates from every difference in our ways of life and traditions.

Adjectives - How Others Would See Grace:
1. Strong - Grace is strong in both the literal and figurative sense. She will never let herself be beaten in spirit, or in a show of strength. She will give everything she has until the bitter end, no matter how painful or impossible it may be. She will always take the bullet for others, she will always protect the weak, she will always be there to pick up the weary, and the brokenhearted.
2. Tormented - No matter how kind she may be, to others it seems as though Grace is constantly tormented. Somehow, Grace managed to lock the reason why so far back that it is completely unreachable, even to us. All that we know is that when she is left to think alone for too long, Grace seems to sink into a deep depression, constantly shivering and whimpering. Hopefully by the end of this 'inspection' of who she is we will find why, and help her to recover.
3. Selfless - She will always give herself for others. If she had to choose between herself and the most unkind, unloving, black-hearted liar in the world, it would always be the other person involved. No matter how much Grace does for the world, she seems to think she isn't worth any of it. Not even her optimism and acceptance are able to cure her self-imposed 'worthlessness.' She accepts her belief, however, and carries it like Atlas carries the world. She will never let it beat her, but her assumed worthlessness is constantly eating away at her soul, even though it shows itself through selflessness.
4. Quirky - There is no quid out their who is more quirky than Grace. She has these strange little habits, like saying a weird thing or doing some slightly awkward thing on a daily basis. She definitely does not follow the status quo. Somehow, though, Grace manages to turn her unusual quirks into quite an adorable picture over all, simply due to how set in her ways she is and how she wears these quirks like there is no other way. Even those who think she is a little insane can't help but find her adorable.
5. Sassy/Sarcastic - How can such a unique little girl not be sassy? She is sarcastic, and she loves it. If you leave the door wide open for a sassy remark, she can't resist walking through. Grace does manage to balance out her sarcasm, by keeping the sass to a minimum unless you are a close friend. Once you make nice with Grace, all bets are off, and you've probably never met a more sassy being. Unless, of course, you've met Tony Stark.

Inside - How Grace Sees Grace:
1. Desperate - Grace thinks that she is so desperate that she needs to give every second of her life to others for what she has done. Even now, she has locked herself so far away that even she sometimes forgets why she is so secretive. When she remembers, though, she seems to throw herself into helping others. Does this mean she did something terrible?
2. Clingy - She pictures herself as a terrible friend, clingy and needy. Almost like a leech. She thinks that she could not survive without friends, and that gnawing need shows itself in her every word and action. Somehow she has only made herself believe in this false addiction more and more, and it simply makes her feel empty inside.
3. Awkward - Imagine putting a satanic symbol in the middle of a church or synagogue. That is how Grace pictures herself. Not as a satanist, but as that awkward that sticks out no matter where she goes. Her mental picture of her awkwardness seems to have unknowingly become a part of her, and she now acts like the awkward being she really isn't. But, although she does not know it, deep down she really is confident, and not awkward.
4. Corny - Yes, corny. Not like the food, like the jokes. You could also call her punny. She sees herself as a semi-hopeless jester, filled to the brim with jokes so bad that they are good. And she has a LOT of them. Imagine someone with so many bad jokes that they seem to be made of them, and then double how many jokes that they know. Grace thinks she is that kind of quid, hopeless. But, to tell the truth, she finds her jokes amusing.
5. Annoying - Grave pictures herself as that middle child you just cannot stand. Always wanting attention, always desperate to be important. Which, as she knows, it a little (a lot) judgmental, but she thinks it anyways. She sees herself as this quid that no one can really stand, when she really is quite the opposite. So, while Grace is busy picturing herself as an annoying WME, she is really making so many other quids happy.

Beliefs - What Grace Believes in:
1. Physicality - Grace believes in what she can see, in what she can touch, in what she can prove in the physical world. She believes in what she learns through herself, in what she has found and proved to be true. She believes that the sun will rise each morning, and set each night, simply because she believes in what she has seen her whole life and has learned to trust. She believes in her own ability to push through, and survive, simply because she has done it before, and proven that she can. Grace believes in the world she has helped to shape more than even she realizes.
2. Destiny - A greater meaning, an ultimate goal. Grace believes in this, and she believes that she has one simply waiting for her to discover. She believes in the destiny that hides in plain sight, for the destiny that simply must be found. Grace believes in the destiny that everyone eventually achieves, no matter how hard it may be to reach.
3. Healing - The chance, the option, the ability to choose to heal. Grace believes that everyone, everything, every creature on this Earth, should have a chance to heal. Wether we think that they deserve it or not, Grace believes that they still deserves the option to heal and recover. In this belief, Grace also believes that all souls are capable of healing, and capable of becoming, good, kind beings.
4. Choice - There is nothing anyone could possibly do to justify taking their choice from them, or so Grace believes. No one should be subject to slavery not only of body, but of mind. Every being should be free to make their own decisions, to be themselves, to live freely and how they want to live their life. The only time that Grace believes choice should not be available to all is when they abuse their power, and knowledge, hurting others for their own gains.
5. Individuality - Be who you are, not who someone else wants you to be. Individuality is beautiful, complex as it is, and it is amazing. Grace believes in the beauty of the individual, unique, completely original soul. She believes in being different, in being the odd one out, in being the person to stand out in a crowd, in being the one who is so out there that everyone can't help but admire her for how amazingly unique she is. Grace believes in individuality, but she also believes she is not currently living her belief out.

Opinions - How Grace Labels the World:
1. Sight:
Home, Joy, Happiness - Grace sees these feelings in the sun finding its way over the horizon every morning, in the thunderstorms that cover the sky, in the calm, sooting lake that stretches across the plain. These places are bliss for Grace.
Alone, Lost, Forgotten - The cold, dark world of the snowcapped mountains and the unexplored and unknown caves that criss-cross over and under Grace's home mean terrible things for Grace. These sights are the ones that make her shiver, the ones that make her feel deserted.
2. Scent:
Welcome, Comfort, Family - A light breeze carrying the tang of a citrus-like scent, as well as the more earthly odor of fresh grass finally conquering the snows of winter mean good things for Grace, as well as the sharp scent of rain, warning of the oncoming storm.
Hunger, Desperation, Isolation - The smell of burning trees and grass. There is nothing more horrifying to Grace than this, but the smell of gasoline comes close. These smells make Grace feel vulnerable, unprotected, alone. Nothing will ever comfort her when these scents bring back the dark days of her past.
3. Sound:
Clear, Harmonious, Beautiful - Birds chirping as they fly through the woods in the morning, the sound of comfort and family. A brook, as it chatters down the streambed, in its never-ending march on to nowhere. These are the sounds of happiness, of a time of plenty for all. These sounds mean Grace is safe and healthy.
Clashing, Discord, Shattering - The roar of a fire burning nearby, and the crack as trees are pulled to the ground. The world-consuming boom of thunder. Sounds like these mean destruction and pain to Grace.
4. Touch:
Soft, Warm, Loving - Another WME's soft coat brushing up against her, the feel of the ground as it flies away beneath her feet as she runs. These are the signs of freedom, and belonging, that keep Grace from ever being alone.
Sharp, Cold, Foreign - The bite of the cold winter air as it sweeps over the land, covering all in its frosty embrace. The sharp stones of a gorge as Grace falls, the bite that they bring as they scrape over her side. These all bring pain and sickness to Grace, and those close to her.
5. Flavor:
Sweet, Mellow, Amazing - The soft, sweet flavor of a crisp apple when it is plucked from a tree in spring. The mellow taste of the meadow grass in the summer. These tastes mean health and prosperity for Grace.
Sour, Tainted, Unappetizing - Bitter, tainted water as it flows from the nearby nest of humans. The distasteful crunch of roots and other such things when Grace has no other choice for food in the winter, or when food is scarce. These are the tastes of desperation and helplessness to Grace.

Personality: I've organized it into different sections. I'm so very sorry for the length; writing all of this was very therapeutic for me, considering everything/the few issues that's been happening at school with me. Please let me know if this is against the changing the form rule. I really organized it this way so that I could get a sense of her personality inside and out, and so that it would be easier for you to read rather than a huge block of text.

Main Self: Always her the meaning of her name has aggravated Khilona. The word "doll" implies a sense of helplessness, of vulnerability, and of being owned by something or of being easily swayed into doing something. The syrupy sweetness of the name is disgustingly sugary in Khilona's mind. She would never consider herself someone who is shy, giggly, and a spitting image of the stereotypical female. In fact, she strives to behave utterly different from the definition of her name. Khilona, most simply put, wants to defy her destiny.

Personal Thoughts: Khilona loathes her name's meaning of doll or toy. Unlike what most picture -a beautiful, dainty mare-, Khilona finds her name to be belittling and demeaning. She feels that it carries a sense of being delicate and easily broken, as though she requires constant help and is dependent on others. Mostly, she dislikes it's aura of vulnerability. Khilona does not want to be seen as little, emotionally and physically fragile, or easily manipulated, like how a doll or toy is always in hands of its master.
Due to her beauty and unique trait of not having quip, Khilona is constantly bothered by the attention of male equids looking at her. By 'bothered', Khilona means angered versus feeling shy. When something annoys her or she disagrees with something, there is no doubt that Khilona will stand up and fight for her beliefs and for herself.
Her rebellious instinct has led Khilona to leave her herd on multiple occasions, even allowing her to be caught once, causing her to be an equid of prize worth in the human world, as they all know her as the untameable equid. She is satisfied to have such a title because it is an oxymoron to her name, which instead would show her as a weak, easily manipulated equid.

Behavior Towards Strangers: At first glance, Khilona seems aloof and intimidating with her chronically blank or seemingly scowling mouth. She behaves rather quiet in front of others, as her introverted self is emphasized here, and she can sometimes seem a bit judgmental towards others. When strangers try to make small talk with Khilona, it is hard for her to follow along, and usually the conversation trips over some topic that Khilona is passionate about or some topic on which her and the stranger disagree, resulting in a tense debate. After such an occasion, she will tend to back off in the middle of the debate, knowing that her strong emotions can overpower her greatly to potentially harm the other person in her trying to defend her point of view, and so she scowls and leaves the conversation. Hence, she has few friends and those that she has are close to her and understand her.
Occasionally, she will make conversation with a stranger who she just feels a connection with due to something he/she has said or the way he/she acts, and if she finds someone that has that personality, Khilona will just click with them. Around strangers that she feels connected with, Khilona is much more like a friend. It's rare that she has that instantaneous spark with someone, but when she finds it, it is hard for her to let it go. Parting with someone she has bonded with because of an initial connection is very hard for Khilona, and often she feels awful for days after parting with him/her.

Behavior Towards Friends: Her friends always know not to start a debate with Khilona, yet sometimes they do, just to get under her skin a bit. She fully understands this, and Khilona will play off the debate if its a good day for her. She is loyal towards her friends and has a bit of a smarty-pants wit, which all of her friends enjoy. Towards her friends, Khilona still tends to keep her personal self inside- reluctant to reveal crushes, tell secrets, or show her emotions to many. Overall, Khilona is a wonderful friend if one is able to get over initially meeting her.

Behavior Towards Crushes/Lovers: Khilona, while outspoken and passionate, can be awfully shy around equids she fancies. Rarely does she tell friends about her crush is, and she will therefore have no help in the matter and be given no advice. In this department, Khilona is weak, as she finds herself to be awkward and unlike her usual self around a crush.
It's hard for Khilona to find a crush in the first place, as she tends to have different ideals than most: looks are not extremely important, and intelligence is the key to unlocking her heart. Extreme intelligence, some humor, and a bit of cockiness all are what Khilona looks for in her crush, and she tends to learn to love her crush's looks because of his intelligence and personality to make up for looks.

Behavior Towards Others: Although she is respectful, obedient, and a perfect angel in front of adults and others, Khilona will not be afraid to speak up for what she believes is wrong. Even if the equid she disagrees with is a higher up equid or a very respectable equid, Khilona will voice her mind and make sure that she and others (if there are others that agree) are heard. She will fight for what she believes is right. Also, Khilona will not suck up to adults and others to manipulate them or to be more likely to get something from an adult, and this is her main weakness- that she will break bonds with equids if she finds herself in such a tense and precarious argument or dispute.

Some may call her stubborn; she likes to call it resilient.

Personality: Terra is very adventurous and curious. She has a passion for exploring and loves to learn about the nature surrounding her. Terra's favorite creatures to observe are the unique ones. The ones that are like outcasts, like the star-nosed mole or the opossum or the porcupine, since she herself feels like an outcast. She has a case of paranoia. When she hears other equids laughing or joking around, she gets the feeling it's about her. Some equids do tend to tease her because she is different, hence the reason she likes the unusual animals the most. When faced with other equids, she will usually shy away. Terra likes spending most of her time alone in the woods with the other animals to keep her company. Terra really is a kind equid, she just has trouble expressing her feelings because she is afraid of being rejected friendship. Terra needs a friend that she can openly talk to and that can bring her out of her shell.

Brynja is someone who prefers solitude over socializing, mostly due to the fact that's when she has the time to think and clear her mind. And she often spends her time debate over topics involving her and the world around her. She is not one to speak much – some equids have never even heard her speak -, but even with this, Brynja is an intelligent equid with strong opinions and is ready to scream them out if someone violates what they're doing and is hurting someone or just degrades someone because of who they are. But, she dwells on them, often not allowing them to part from her mind and into the open air fearful of how they will be accepeted. So quite often she steps back and just lets something happen, feeling horrible afterwards, but then again she also steps up and will defend the equid involved like her life depended on it.

Even though she is still some what of a young mare, she always expects the worse, and is often found pacing and panicking silently and will try to find a way to have an excuse to not do what she is supposed to do if she feels she can't do it with perfection. Anything but perfect is the same as failing for her, and she is often mentally beating herself up if she does something not to her standards. But she rarely allows sorrow to hit and play out, instead she keeps it inside of herself and holds it back with chains and locks so it has no chance of getting loose. As she doesn't want others to worry with her problems and her worries, as she would feel extremely uncomfortable and exposed. So she keeps her issues drawn along with her worried thoughts about this life.
But sadly with how she has locked herself up, she often does not know how to be there for the ones that matter to her, which breaks her fragile heart, as she hates seeing someone sad or depressed. She wants to be there for them, but most of the times has no idea how.

She underestimates herself, and is scared of the thought that others think of her as a bother and an annoyance. And will often distance herself from her friends just in case they get annoyed by her. Which is one of the main reasons why most of her friends drifted away from her, tired of her locked up self and misunderstood why she distanced herself from them all of the time. Brynja isn't one to befriend someone easily either, and therefore with her friends drifting away she became more of the solitude type of gal. But towards the few ones who decided to stay or not completely drift away, those are the ones she is fiercly loyal towards.
But even with not much company from others, she's enjoying life and what nature brings along with it. Even with the tough life of a being a prey to predators.
But her love for nature and the creatures that share the world with her, never seems to stop, she is often found socializing with little critters such as birds, squirrels, mice and even skunks. Not that they stay with her, most of them run away. But she loves to just watch and see how their lives play out and how they cope, because she might be able to draw something out of their actions and use towards her own benefit. Such as from locating certain food types, to find a way to sleep more comfy and more safely.
Brynja is one to observe and notice different types of behaviour and how someone is feeling by how someone acts.
With this observation technique she has taught herself to focus on what the wildlife among her tells her, and it has often saved her from getting into uncomfortable situations with humans and hounds.
But she prefers silence over anything, as that's when you've got to concentrate to hear and see the bundle of life swirling around one self, but that most of us seem to not notice because of the unfamiliarity of not hearing many sounds all at the same time. Peacefulness is underrated, and overlooked, which is why Brynja loves it so much.

But even with all this Brynja is an extremely strong equid, not physically, but mentally. Even with others ignoring her and sometimes even throwing mean insults and actions, she lets them bounce off her little bubble of protection. It might drag her down for a short while, yes, but she is guaranteed to bounce back up from the fall and keep on going. As even with this harsh and brutal word, it's still her life, her heart beating in her chest and keeping her alive. And she is determined that no one is going to take her life away, she is the keeper of it and she is the one who controls it. Others can try and bring her down, but in the long run, they're just some equid that triggers her annoyance and moody self. An equid not worth dwelling over and wasting a thought on.

Brynja is in short terms a fiercly loyal, silent, intelligent, nature loving, determinded, strong and thoughtful equid.
