Notes on MB and the Contest
-Changing her name is ok, but you'll get "bonus points" for keeping it the same or close to the same.
-She must remain female.
-Mango Berry has very limited relations to her family members (see below for complete list of family), so her history and personality can be completely re-crafted without worry that family may prevent it from working out. All family ties must remain, but MB shouldn't be too involved with her family.
-Mango Berry had a mate, but is now divorced. The reason for divorce and anything else you'd like to talk about with their relationship is up to you, but the divorce cannot be erased or forgotten; it is a set part of her history and while you can work it into the character you create, you cannot remove it.
-There is no word limit or art limit, so feel free to get creative!
-Forms may be prettied up to any extent, and a coded form (that still remains easy on the eyes) will have a bit of an edge over a form with nothing but basic text.
-The winner will receive all of Mango Berry's art, but only after she is won. You may not use art she already has in your form. (Art you draw, commission, etc. specifically for the contest is ok!)
-Since she has been divorced, she can only now breed once.
-More details may be added to this thread as questions are asked.
Brilliant
Having been a stay-at-home mother for almost all of her younger years, Mango found company in books when her children become old enough to stay out late and spend less and less time at home. It started with fiction; romance-novels and other things woman love, but as her abilities improved, her tastes expanded to classic literature, then to science fiction, then research articles, and on until she amounted the incredible voacbulary and vast sea of knowledge that she has today. This all plays a key role in who she has become, as she does often feel as if she is superior to most of her peers, and therefor; unable to relate or connect to them.
Careful
Careful not to lose, careful not to say something wrong, careful not to embaress herself or her family, careful not to let anyone in. Mango Berry is a careful kiamara more so to defend her image than to avoid danger or strife. She would hate nothing more than to have the true secret of her divorce known, of this she is the most careful. In the past few months since their split, Mabs has indulged in ravenous flirtation when she knows her friends are watching, just to remind them of her sexuality... or of the sexuality she once felt that she must be.
Distrustful
Not only is Mango careful not to slip up in front of those she trusts, but she has begun to have a hard time trusting any new kiamaras she meets. She will chat politely and calmly, but rarely if not ever open up to them about herself. Mabs prefers it this way, as she has just found new friendship to be too emotionally draining for her to keep up with at this point in her life. With time, this characteristic may fade, but only once Mango Berry is good and ready.
Bold
Mango always has been and always will be a girl who speaks her mind. Fearing not for the opinions of others if it comes to a topic she is passionate about, or is able to take an intellectual stand against. In this way, she is much like her cousin Tone, and it is because of this that Mango has always been slightly closer with him than Snapple. The two have always been able to sneer and poke fun at the world together in this free-flowing and uncensored manner. And probably always will.
Irritable
Ever since her children left home, Mango has grown increasingly crotchety. Though she does not mean to, she may often come across much more angry or annoyed than she really is, which has been the subject of the occasional complaint among her clients at the nail salon at which she works. In combination with her brutally bold honesty, this irritability can make her quite the force to be reckoned with whenever she is a state of discontent.
Regretful
Despite her seemingly unending cloudy mood, and the vindictive things that can spew fourth from her mouth, Mango Berry is ever filled with remorse for a majority of the things she says and does. Most notibly, of course, is never truely connecting or being their for her kids, nor their kids. Mabs will never forgive herself for letting Desmond be the one to comfort their children when they were in mental distress, she will always wish that she did more than feed them and mend their physical wounds. She hopes, however, that she might one day gain the courage to sit her two beautiful daughters down and confess all of this to them, but until that day; Mango Berry remains full of regret.
