Song: Popular And This is Halloween
Story/Art: An add on for my form if its fine ^^Deep in the night the wind blew leaves swiftly along the road. It was Halloween night, and the air was cold.. soft padding of paws could be heard down the unusually quiet street of Elmore. Numar sighed "Its Halloween night. Were could everyone be?" She asked herself under her breath as she crossed the road, she looked up and gazed at the dark cemetery ahead of her. She smiled briefly then trotted in through a small hole in the gate. she walked to every tombstone and read all their names. "I am sorry all of you cant be here with your families.." She began then stopped herself so she wouldn't cry. Taking a deep breath she walked out the cemetery and down the road, were she followed the moonlight from the 'crooked smile' to the dreary lit town ahead.
A lantern flickered as Numar passed an old building, she looked at the town square clock. eight. Numar sighed, 'Its only eight,' She thought as she passed a car parked in the road, hours of silence and wolves howls she finally headed back to her home. her head hung low, she took one last glance at the town behind her. One young boy walked along the street. Seeing the boy she perked her ears and trotted towards him trying not to give herself off. The boy kept walking. With one big leap Numar clung to the boys leg and looked up at his face.
The boy never looked down but stopped. Grabbing Numar, he took her off and put her on the leaf infested sidewalk, Numar stared at him as he vanished into the fog gathering in the streets. The next thing she knew she was running as fast as her little legs could through the woods towards her abode. The fog seemed to chase her. Not looking back she jumped through the burnt opening of her dark home. The bark brushed against her back as she neared the corner for refuge from this horror.
Hours later twelve deep echoing strikes could be hear loudly from the town squares clock. Gathering her courage Numar looked out the charcoaled opening and peered around the thick brush and dead trees, the moon seemed to laugh at her the way it smiled. Oh its crooked smile. Shivers ran up the back of the doughnuter's spine as the howls of wolves rang threw darkened night, the clouds covered the crooked moon and everything turned eerily dark. The wind whispered through the grass and the cold pinched the cheecks of Numars small face.
Crows cawed beyond the dark, dead, tree as they peered around looking for treats. Numar arose from her slumber and crawled out her dark home, looking around she saw the crows in the dim light. Looking to the sky the clouds rolled over head making fierce threats of a storm. Running Numar looked for the boy that she had seen the night before. Nobody, not one person walked along the streets or even cleared littered leaves from there drives ways and sidewalks. No pumpkins were out of place. Numar began to breath heavily, she was horrified, were was everyone!? Gathering speed she bolted to the square clock and glazed up at it expecting to find someone up in the bell tower. No one, only the tick of the battery that was kicked in.
Tears filled the little doughnuters eyes as she slumped down on the sidewalk and layed curled in a ball as she waited and hoped someone would come.
Time flew away from her claws as she dozed off on the cold cement.
Clacking shoes came down the road and towards Numar, her eyes opened wearily not knowing of the heavy steps behind her. Stretching she turned to face the boy she had seen the other night, before she could do anything the boy picked her up from under her front paws with one hand and began to walk off and down the road. No use in fighting, Numar thought as she stared in the boys flashing orange-red eyes, gazing away from him she saw a house up ahead. The lights were on, the pumpkins lit and bright. Nearly jumping from the boys arms Numar wanted to squeal with joy, as the boy unhitched the door and entered he put the purple cat like creature on an orange and purple custom cat bed that read 'Rama'.
Numar purred with delight, the boy who she had longed to see again Halloween night had came back to keep her, she didnt care who he really was. She just wanted company, and away from the dark, silence, and lonelyness from the cursed woods.
Yet the moon no matter what always smiled crookedly at her. Never letting her forget.
