Toothless
Male

Toothless can be a bit selfish and disobedient at times, often preferring to do what he wants when he wants and not during someone else's time frame. This makes him quite defiant and frustrating to deal with at times. Despite this side of himself, he can be very docile most of the time. He is very quirky, having a dry sense of humor when talking about something. He's very playful and teasing when he doesn't feel threatened or scared. He is highly intelligent and inquisitive; though this high level of curiosity can sometimes get him into trouble, especially when he ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time. He also has a bit of an attitude at times, this tends to be when he displays his more mischievous or independent streak. This tends to be when messes around with others or ignores orders, this mischievousness is often something that is well hidden behind his docile nature/appearance, but ends up being quite comical those moments when he does display it. He is fiercely loyal to his friends, being very trustworthy and reliable when the going gets rough. He will protect his friends when they are in danger and in need of help; he is also very supportive of his friends and their needs.

While his mom was pregnant with him, she would read to him quite often, she started out with the How To Train Your Dragon books by Cressida Cowell, when she finished, she re-read them. Just before he was born, his parents had been watching the How To Train Your Dragon movie. When he hatched from his egg and they saw how much he actually resembled Toothless from the movie, they decided that it was fate and named him Toothless.
He prefers to be called Toothless, but he understands that not everyone can say that or wants to say his whole name, so he goes by many different names/nicknames: Toofwess (for the young ones), TL (by his guy friends), Sweetie (by his mom and Amanda Lynn), Sweety/Sweet/Sugar Tooth (tends to be used by females when they're trying to get him to do something for them), and Buddy (by his dad).

Toothless's costume is something that his mother made for him back when he was a very young bean, it is basically a thick cloth harness with the back connector being a thick strip of leather with stiff spikes on it. As he grew, his costume has had to be re-fitted for him and fixed up by his mother.
After ruining his costume one night, his new-found best friend, Amanda Lynn, fixes and improves upon his mother's design. She makes it with thick, sturdy leather that is still comfortable for everyday wear and put sturdier wires in the wings to help them keep their shape. She overlaid the old fabric with new leather so that it would seem more realistic. She also made additional pieces for his outfit, which included something to put around the base of his tail to add fins like what Toothless had in the movie.
Toothless never takes off his costume except when he goes to sleep and takes a bath, otherwise, it's on all the time. Every day, he does some maintenance on his costume, cleaning it off of any dirt and then using black shoe polish to polish the leather on his costume.

"Yes, you. Silly dragon. -snugs-"
.
I took a running leap onto a tree stump, quickly leaping off it and continued pelting through the woods until I got to a small 3-foot ledge and soared. Or I would’ve if it hadn't been for the full weight of something else crashing into me and flinging me backwards.
An "Oof!" escaped from my mouth as the wind was knocked out of me along with whatever or whoever I had just collided into. I think it was another bean, but I wasn’t sure. All I saw was a flurry of bright autumn colors.
A very bubbly female voice reached me, “Oh my gosh, I’m so, so, so sorry. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” I replied, cringing slightly. “Are you?”
She nodded emphatically. “Yeah, I’m fine,” as an afterthought, she then added, “My name is Amanda Lynn, I saw you about to jump off that ledge and I saw you were going to leap into a thorn bush, so I stopped you.”
I felt heat rising to my cheeks; I realized I hadn’t even bothered to look before I leaped. “Oh. I didn’t see that.” I hated to admit it, but her pretty violet eyes lured me into telling. “Um, thanks for stopping me.”
“You’re welcome.” She replied cheerily. “Why were you leaping off it anyway?”
“Oh, um, I was, er… I was pretending to fly.” I said it very low, hoping she wouldn’t hear me.
The instant she started giggling, I knew she’d still managed to hear me. “Sorry, it’s just that I was pretending too.”
Cocking my head to one side I said, “Really?”
“Yeah, I was pretending I was pretending I was on a grand adventure,” she laughed, it was so infectious that I found myself laughing along with her.
She gave me a brief look, then a bright smile lit her face. “Toothless! You look like Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon!” She exclaimed, beaming. Gosh, she’s so child-like it’s adorable, even though she’s a full grown bean like me.
“Haha, yeah, I know. My name is Toothless too; I wear this costume so I can look more like him," I told her, smiling. With that, I spun around so she could see, but instead of the sight of my costume bringing forth and “ooh” or “aw” as I had expected it to, I received a gasp of what sounded like horror.
Spinning around, I asked, “What? What is it?”
“You costume,” she began sadly. “It’s been ruined.”
“No, no, no, no! It can’t be ruined, it can’t be!”
Quickly wiggling out of it, my heart stopped when I saw the damage. The wires my mother put inside the wings to give them their shape were broken, one was poking out of the fabric, there were rips, tears, and scuff marks on them too and some of the spines had broken off. It’s ruined, it’s complete garbage now. My mom had told me the last time she’d fixed my costume that it was the last time she was ever going to work on it. If I wanted to fix it, I’d have to do it on my own or find someone else to do it.
Ever since I left home, I had managed being able to do the usual, simple, fix it job, but this was beyond my capabilities.
“There’s no way I can fix this,” I stated glumly.
“I can!”
“You can?”
“Yup! Just follow me and I’ll fix it at home,” She told me brightly.
I think I love this girl. I thought to myself as I followed behind her.

When I finally got to watch the movie, it was at my local public library and I was so excited. I ended up watching it without my family and I loved it. Without a doubt, Toothless was my favorite character, from the very beginning, he reminded me of Stitch from Lilo & Stitch with his expressions and mannerisms. Before Toothless, I loved Stitch (I have a plushie of him too that I got from Disneyland) so the fact that Toothless reminded me so much of Stitch just made him that much more lovable.
I love this bean because I love Toothless, this bean is point blank amazing! I love his wing accessories and I am totally going to do art of this handsome devil dragon. Lots of it!
I love the movie version of Toothless far more than the book Toothless, he's so much more lovable than the book version of him. I actually sort of like the fact that they didn't draw from the book too much because I felt the book was aimed more towards boys than to girls and the movie makes it more appealing to both genders and to adults.
I have a major soft spot in my heart for this guy, the character Toothless holds a lot of meaning and memories to me so this bean holds the same meaning to me. Just like I had to fight to get my dad to see how much I wanted to see the movie and get it or my brother to get my Toothless plush toy back every time he absconded with it, I will fight to prove how much truly I love him. I love this bean more than words can possibly fully express in this section.
I wasn't sure where to tack this in, but I recently remembered that I had once made a female Night Fury character on Ruki_Ki's Night Fury editable, I never ended up using her, or even finding/giving her a name. I loved her when I created her, but I never had an opportunity to get art of her, so she ended up being almost forgotten. Unlike her though, I know that I will use and love Toothless, cherish him and be grateful I have him every single day just as I do with my current only bean, my RU bean, Amanda Lynn. I will RP him with other beans, here on CS and on the JBD fanclub site, I'll get a plethora of art for him, color-in gift lines with him, and make even more art of him myself.

I love How To Train Your Dragon, when I first saw the commercials for it, I knew right away, I wanted to see it. Sadly, my dad wasn't interested in seeing it and when my dad isn't interested in a movie, we don't go to the movie theater to watch it. I decided to go to my local public library to check out the books so that I'd be able to maybe understand the movies better (of course they didn't really help me in the end because the movie was very different from the books). During the promotion of it/when it was released to theaters, one of the other public libraries in my city's public library system was having some sort of activity going on for their Summer Reading program and there was a lady with a Spin-the-Wheel thing with book genres and whatever one you landed on was the next genre of book you should read. Anyway, she had a box underneath her table in which she held small-ish sized How To Train Your Dragon Toothless plush toys with bendable wires in the wings for shaping the wings. I was...16 or 17 at the time and I saw all these little kids with one and I really, really wanted one and my twin brother knew it as well as my mom and they were trying to figure out how to get one for me from her (because I'm shy and didn't know if all you had to do was simply ask) and eventually I figured out that fact and I went up and asked and I got the last one she had! I never took the tag off him because I really liked the tag and didn't want to lose it, but I play with him often still and my brother is completely jealous. X3
He currently sleeps above my bed on top of the bookcase headboard, but I brought him down for a photo-shoot. ♥
When the movie was released to DVD, I saw it in a game/machine thing called "Whistle Stop" at John's Incredible Pizza, I spent a good portion of my credits/points/whatever on that game trying to get the DVD because I knew my dad wouldn't buy it for me, not even as a present for Christmas. The movie was at the top of the row of like 3 movies, and I was at that game for a long time. I ended up getting 3 watches (1 of which I returned in exchange for an iPod shuffle cover-thing which I used for my MP3 Player), and the movie Coraline, which I definitely would have asked to swap for How to Train Your Dragon, but I didn't think they'd let me because I didn't have as good a reason as the whole "I-won-3-watches-from-the-same-machine-thing."
After this, my dad finally caved in and bought the movie, now my whole family loves this movie and we watch the TV show too. ♥

The runes at the top of this post read "Toothless" the ones on the bottom read "You Make My Heart Soar." I made both pictures. Also, just as a note, every section's word count is under 600 words.

I would like to thank everyone, and I mean everyone, who helped me out along the way with my form. From the people who on the JBD fanclub site chat who just glanced over and gave me feed back to the kind and generous people who randomly PM-ed me offering to do art for free or to help pay for art. You are all too kind and I truly appreciate it. ♥ A HUGE, GINORMOUS shout out of thanks to Dirzy_Derp, who dropped out in order to devote her time to the Zombean who won her heart over, she generously donated all the art she made and gave it to me. I don't know if there are enough words to truly express how grateful I am to you for donating all that art. ANOTHER HUGE shout out to [color=#00BFBF]Peace&Colby for coding/re-formatting my form, it looks fantastic! Thank you! ♥
