Name Origin:
The name Edamame (枝豆) originates from Japan,
First used in the year 1275
Reason:
I chose this name specifically for the little green
spots that dot her body as well as her eyes. They
immediately reminded me of the gorgeous bright
green bean, Edamame. But the more I look at her,
the more I see things that remind me of the name I
chose. Edamame is actually immature soybeans, so
so many things remind me of the soybeans and fields
that grow close to my home. The white reminds me
of soy milk. The cream of her bells remind me of
the sun-bleached and dried soybean plants, ready
for harvest. The striated and speckled greys remind
me of the rows of soil in the fields. The wrap around
her neck reminds me of the soybean plants vines. Even
the pattern reminds me of the barn cats that patrol the
fields for soybean-snacking mice. Just everything about
her screams soybeans to me <3
