Well, the guy I based him off was a Palomino Minimal Sabino, with only the leg markings and two small patches of white on his belly. The organiser of the auction let me look at the model and he was gorgeous!!!

Here's another clue, which should speed up searching dramatically:

I also used to ride a thoroughbred Friesian cross, dark bay, he was amazing! He had huge strides and lots of feathers. My dream horse indeed. He was eventually sold by the owner but I will always miss him. He is probably one of the friendliest horses I have ever met. I used to go to his pasture and race him from one side to another, while I was on the other side of the fence. He would win by 20 yards because he would gallop, but he was cute. Every time I made my bird whistle he would rear a few feet off the ground.
