Username:the.Marshmallow.OwlName:Her name would be Genevieve, just because the name sounded pretty.Gender:Female.Basic information:Full Name: Genevieve Alice Ross
Age: 14. Permanently
Height: 3'11''
Weight: 95 lbs
Birthday: March 20th
Zodiac: Pisces
Chinese Zodiac: Tiger
Birthstone: AquamarinePersonality in 10 words :BraveShe never backs down from a challenge, even if it seems impossible to win. It in not in her nature to be brave, but she forces herself to be, so that she is not held back in this world by fear. That was a common problem when she was a pup. Now she just dives headfirst into things, often without considering the risks of doing so.DaringShe is always trying new things. Often when someone asks for volunteers, she is the first to raise her paw. Some people think she's stupid for doing all of this when she's so young. They think she'll get hurt when she tries something bold. But when she does what she's doing, and does it just fine, they get the back of her paw across their face. Ouch!SillyShe is constantly cracking jokes and making others laugh. This is often at her own expense, but she doesn't care. It's fun to make others laugh, and Genevieve is always getting herself into trouble to hear a few chuckles from her friends. it's only when someone truly insults her that they get hurt...SmartShe always has the answers to any question you may have. She's like a walking, talking fact book sometimes! It can get annoying after a while, but if you ever need a question answered, Genevieve is the Kia you ask! SOmetimes she even goes seeking out for questions that need to be answered, which can lead her into trouble.KindShe never is cruel to others intentionally. She is always very light with her words around new people, and tries to cheer others up. But when she gets to know someone, she isn't as careful with her choice of words. But to a newcomer, she seems very kind and lighthearted. HelpingShe never leaves you in the dust, weather she likes you or not. If she sees someone struggling to do something, Genevieve does what she can to help. The little Kia can't help it, to see anything in particular struggling just breaks her heart. Short-TemperedHer fuse burns quickly, even when she's being kind. Genevieve can usually detect the hints of sarcasm and teasing in an insult, but when it is a genuine insult, you've got a fight on your hands. Weather it be a physical fight or an argument, Genevieve gets angered very easily. So just watch your words when you're around her.StubbornShe never gives up on a task. To Genevieve, giving up is a sign of weakness, and her weakness will not be tolerated. While others can forgive her for giving up, it is Genevieve herself that will have the hardest time forgiving herself. Thus, she never gives up on anything. It can get a bit annoying at times, but it is better than having Genevieve sulking around all the time.FeistyShe can get a bit carried away at times, her natrually fiery personality snuffing out her kindness. She tends to yell and scream at times that aren't necessary, and she sometimes 'burns' people who provoke her. Put people can't always be kind and cheery, and Genevieve is a perfect example of that.CreativeShe always has new ideas for things. Whenever she's bored, you can be sure that Genevieve will be making something. Weather it be a drawing, a bracelet, or a cute new blouse, Genevieve's paws are always moving.Likes:Genevieve likes...

~A little silver bracelet with a leaf charm
Her mom gave it to her after she broke her leg as a pup, and she has treasured it ever since. It is a symbol that what doesn't kill you will mend, as did her leg.
~A stuffed bluebird plush
She has had it since she was a newborn, and has kept ever since she could remember. When Genevieve's down or scared, she holds the little plush close and sings a song:
As the storm whirls on,
The little bird will hide
In the big oak tree,
Deep deep inside.
Free as it may be,
It's limited by the storm
So it hides inside the hollow,
Where it will be warm
But before you begin to fret,
The sun will show again
And the bird's song will return,
Free and unrestrained.
~The first parachute cord bracelet she ever wove. It is green with white flecks and is bound with a piece of silver duck tape. It may seem feeble, but it has lasted this long.Family and Friends(NOTE: These are all fictional Kias. I just wanted to put a little family section in here for reference in the story.)
Mother: Dessa Ross

Best friend: Lucinda Fellson
Frenemy: Casperilla McCleary
Every Cloud Has a Minty LiningMy mother always told me that every cloud had a silver lining. I never believed her, until one fateful day when I was just a pup...My claws sunk into the tree trunk as I nimbly scampered up the tree. I could hear my tree-climbing expert brother at the bottom, just in case she needed help. I had seen my friends do this trust excersise before, but it felt so scary when it was happening to me. I reached one of the middle branches, and scurried onto it. I clung to the branch for dear life, as I peaked around the leaves to see what was happening on the ground. My 5 friends had their paws weaved into a make-shift net, that
I was supposed to trust them enough to jump into it. I had seen been done so many times, I had once even been part of the net. But now that it was
me hanging onto the tree branch, I wasn't so sure this would work. I heard one of my friends sigh on the ground, probably Casperilla. She was always impatient. "Whenever your ready, Genevieve!" I mustered up enough courage to stand on the branch, and waddle toward the end of it. "I... I don't know guys," I whimpered meekly. "Are you sure this will work?" I heard another exasperated sigh on the ground. "Of course it will. You've seen it a hundred times, you know it will work." I inhaled a large breath, then tentatively poked a paw off of the branch. "Genevieve, if you don't jump soon, you might fall off." Oh, I didn't want that to happen. I closed my eyes, and silently counted to 10.
10. 9. 8. 7. 6. I heard something buzzing by my head, but I just flicked my ears dismissively.
5. 4. 3. 2. 1! I opened my eyes, about to jump off... only to find a huge wasp sitting on my nose! I screamed, and shook my head wildly trying to get the stupid thing off. But instead of flying away, the wasp proceeded to sting my nose. Pain flickered through my face, and I stumbled backward (the wasp had flown away now). But where there should have been something to put my paws on, I only found air. All too soon, I realized I was plummeting toward the ground, away from the girls' net. I gasped, unable to scream, as I hit the ground with a
thud. Pain shot through my body, but it was especially bad in my ankle. I seemed to hear a pup scream beside me, a high-pitched wail loud enough to burst someone's eardrum. But when I looked to find the distressed pup, there was no one. The wail was coming from me. My friends ran over to me, now convulsing in pain. A mixed look of shock and horror was on their faces, and it was Casperilla who spoke first. "Oh gosh, I'll go get your mom!" Casperilla darted over to our family's den, shouting my mother's name. My one friend Lucinda crouched beside me, a chunk of wet moss in her mouth. She pressed it to my forehead, and proceeded to say in a lulling voice, "It'll be Ok. No matter what, it'll be Ok." By the time my mother got to the scene, tears were streaking down her face. "Oh Genevieve! My baby! C'mon, I'll go take you to the doctor straight away." She picked me up by the scruff of my neck, and I dosed off in her gentle grasp.
When I awoke, a fierce pain shot through my right ankle. I moaned, and turned over to see my mother sitting calmly by my bedside. The only thing I remember about getting here was the gentle swaying motion that meant my mother was carrying me. While my mother was calm, my father was pacing around the small, colorful room we were in. I tried to move, but that just brought on another bought of pain. I looked at my right paw, and saw an IV needle sticking out of it.
Urgh, I hate needles. I slowly turned to face my mother again. "Hey there sleepyhead. Edwin, look who's awake!" At that, my father stopped pacing, and walked over to my bedside. He sat as calmly as he could, and forced a smile on his face. "Hey there. Maria, ahem, your mother said you took quite a fall out of that tree. We'll see how bad a fall once your x-rays come back."
X-rays? Just as I started pondering, the doctor walked into my room with a set of dark, laminated pieces of plastic. "Hello, little Genevieve. How's that splint workin' for ya?"
Splint? In all the confusion, I forgot to look at my right ankle. I slowly sat up, and saw the main portion of my right hind leg in a temporary cast. "Err... it's doing fine." The doctor nodded, then turned on a light board on the other side of the room. He proceeded to hang up the dark sheets of plastic, which now contained images of my foot and ankle. "Now Genevieve, as you can see here," he pointed to a picture of my leg that had a big crack in it. "Your femur here," he pointed to a picture of my foot that had a small crack in it. "And your upper paw here have fractures from your fall. The fracture in your femur is much larger than the one in your paw, as you can see. But they are both very clean fractures, and should take very little time to mend. In the mean time, you will wear this temporary splint, but in a few days you'll have to come back here for a cast. I'll get out of your hair now." The doctor walked out of the room, leaving me with my parents. Just as my mother was about to speak, Casperilla and Lucinda walked into my room, carrying what seemed to be a tub of ice cream. "We're sooo sorry about what happened Genevieve!" Lucinda said. "Yeah, but next time, you've got to be braver," Casperilla started. "If you'd have jumped when we told you, you might not have fallen. Just... be a little braver."
"Wow, thanks for the encouragement Casperilla." I said sarcastically. But something that she said would stick in my head for a long time.
Just... be a little braver. I would. I wouldn't let fear cripple me the next time I did something.
"Anyway," Lucinda spoke again. "We brought you this ice cream! It's mint chocolate-chip flavor." She handed me the tub, which had a bright green mint leaf on it.
"Mmm, I've never had this flavor before!" I said excitedly. I popped open the lid, and stuck a paw in the tub, scooping out some freezing cold ice cream. I noticed how eerily the ice cream looked like my fur, but I disregarded it as I stuck the entire scoop in my mouth. My eyes opened wider as the cold treat lingered on my tongue. "Mmmm, this is the best thing I've ever tasted!" I dipped another paw into the tub, and ravishingly stuck the treat in my mouth. In a couple of minuets, I had eaten the entire tub! "*BUURP!* Err... can I have some more?" Everybody laughed, and I realized that this whole incident wasn't all bad. I had discovered this new frozen treat, and I had LOVED it! I guess my mother was right, every cloud
did have a silver lining. Ehhem, I mean, every cloud has a
minty lining.

All art is by me.
I'd hoped to have more art done, but I had something happen today that I to rest from, and I'm traveling tomorrow.
Thank you for the opportunity to try out for this beautiful Kia.
If I happened to win her, she would be my first Kia. Good luck to everyone!
