Poem:
Pitch black
Scary nights
Why is it what I see all the time
I am scared but I am brave
But there is one thing I am certain to know
That good always wins against evil
So I hope and pray that in the end
The dark tunnel will open up and I will finally see sunlight

Poem:
What a beautiful sight to see.
Not in eyes, you see, but in sense.
The world through my senses- or better yet
The world seen through my eyes.
Many cannot behold, the beauty in nothing.
What I hear
What I feel
What I taste
What I smell
Blindness isn't a disability
More a different perspective to see things through.
Not something to make things difficult or impossible
But a challenge and new experience.
It makes sure you remember everything in details,
Whether it may be, how many steps to take
Before turning a corner. Or
The smell and taste of something so divine, such as the aroma and texture of a fresh batch of cookies and bread.
For some it is nearly impossible to imagine the world through my eyes.
It must be the same for me,
Nearly impossible to imagine seeing at all.
I love my world, and never dare change.
I may just hope, those who enter my world or surround it.
May respect and understand, sight isn't everything.
Whether you believe me or not...
Many cannot behold the beauty in the dark.

Poem:
I taste the fruits of summer
I taste the berries of spring
I taste the veg of winter and autumn
I taste the world around me
I feel the soft grass
I feel the gentle flowers
I feel the dried up leaves
I feel the world around me
I smell the salty ocean
I smell the roses sweet
I smell warm coffee and tea
I smell the world around me
I hear the water ripple
I hear the baby lambs bleat
I hear the snow crunch and leaves crumble
I hear the world around me
I may be blind
I may not be able to see
I I can taste and feel and smell and hear
The amazing world around me

Poem:
All around is darkness,
an endless void of black,
I can see nothing,
but I am not truly blind.
The sounds I here around me
with my rather large pair of ears
let me hear the world
and experience it's beauty.
And I can touch the world,
rough, soft, dry, wet.
I can feel a warm touch,
or feel the soft grass.
And I can smell the world.
I know I smell of peach.
I can smell a flower,
or the ocean by a beach.
And I can taste the world,
Foods bitter, hot, or sweet.
And although some tastes are bad,
tasting them is still sweet.

Poem:
A common misconception.
Blind people see in black and white,
but that is just not right.
So I must make a correction,
what I see is the absence of light,
to tell whether it is day or night.
No, I cannot see colors.
How could I when I don't know what they are?
What I can see is darkness,
but it's not all that bad.
I don't know the colors of the floor or the door,
I can't tell if they're near or far.
Although, I do want to address,
the fact that I'm still not sad.
You probably think that it's just a ruse,
that I'm under some spell of self abuse.
But really, I'm better off this way.
I don't criticize others on their looks,
unlike sighted people,
who judge each other like books.
Honestly, there's not much left to say.
The flowers outside,
they smell divine.
And they feel just fine,
so why should it matter,
if I can see them with my eyes?
This was kind of the perfect adoptable because I've been recently learning a lot of things about blind people and the misconceptions that sighted people have about them. One is that they see in black and white, but that's not really true since they don't actually know what those colors look like, unless they went blind at some point of their lives. Instead, those that are born blind simply see the absence or presence of light. If you want to learn more, look up Tommy Edison. He was born blind and he frequently answers questions from sighted people, while adding a bit of humor. Sorry for this little paragraph, but I did want to mention this as it explains a lot of the poem. ^^ This isn't really related to the adoptable itself though, so please don't count it as an extra or something. ^-^;;
I read the rules before I broke them ; I broke the chains before they choked me out ; Now I pay close attention ; Really learned the code ; I learned to read the map before I hit the road
