Name Meaning
When I first saw her I instantly thought of an egyption godess. Her markings, to me, seem distinctly egyption, and well she is to beautiful to be anything but a goddess.
Truthfully the only egyption goddesses that I know of is the cat goddess Bast. I did more research and found the Bast (Bastet, the goddess) was a fierce, independent and caring goddess. She played many roles in Egyptian mythology. She was considered the guardian of women and children, and at one point was identified with the goddess of war due to her protecting the pharaoh on the battle field.

Personnality
One of the reasons picked the name Bast was that both her and the egyption goddess have quite simular personalitys. Bast is a independent and fierce, but not stubborn (most of the time). She can be open minded to people who she already respects. She does tend to disregard most things that people she hates say though. She is very "proper" in the way that one describes
royalty, but is not in any way prissy thats for sure.
Bast is probably the most fearless being you will
ever know. She will do almost anything if it is
logical to do so. Though she does have one fear...
She is also not a "silly" or "funny" Kia, she is very
kind and respectful, almost to the point of being
kinda uptight. She Hates simple problems so she
always tries to understand things to the fullest.
Bast does tend to be a bit over critical. Especially
when she finds the activity/job/problem easy.
In short she is
kind,
critical,
proper and most of
all
strong.

Short Story
(In the perspective of Bast, takes place three years ago) I open my sleep heavy eyes, just a crack. The first ray of red dawn slowly seeps through the inky black sky. Just then my mother steps into my room.
"Good morning baybe" she says cheerfully,
"Today is your fathers conference!" I sit up excitedly. I love my fathers conferences, they talk about the most curious and interesting things. One of the most popular topics that are discussed in their conferences are the rebels, they have been attacking small villages and towns lately. They talk about politics alot too, I don't really like that much, it gets too complex for me to understand.
"Bast" my mother says sharply, snapping me back to whats going on. My mother holds up a heavy vail. Huff, I forgot I had to wear that dredfull thing. My mother notices my apprehension.
"Hon, I know you don't like it but you can't walk out there with your wild green mane, people would think bad of you" you see around here unnatural colours arnt normal, and people would judge. My mother has a unnatural mane too, she also has to wear a vail.
I go to my stool in front of my mirrorless vanity. I help my mother pin on the vail, it took for ever, and we used what seemed to be a hundred pins. i would hold it in place and my mother pinned it. Finally we got it secure.
"It is so hot under here!" I whimpered.
"Hush baybe" my mother turned towards the door, she paused for a second, thinking.
"I know somthing that you would like..." She pulls a long ribbon of pure gold.
"Ohhh" I gasp. It is so beautifull it makes my skin tingle. My mother wraps the ribbon up my forearms, making a simple zigg zagg pattern. I look down at my arms.
"Thankyou so much mother!" I pull her in for a hug. She laughs, but quickly notices the time
"Time to go down honey". We walk out the door and down to the conference room. My father sits proudly at the head of the thick oak table. My mother leads me to a chair beside my father, she sits on the other side of him.
"*Cough* , lets carry on" my father starts going back into the latest rebel attacks. "
They hit our southern most side the hardest, many towns will need troops to mend buildings-" " No! We can't afford sending out our troops!" My fathers military adviser warned
"we need them to protect our northern side as-" a single scream cut him off. Startled murmuring spread through out the crowd.
"REBELS! REBELS ARE ATTACKING!" Some one cried out. Suddenly everyone was moving. My mother swooped out of no where and guided me to up to my room. People where yelling and rushing all around me.
"Moom! Slow down, mom, mom!" I whine.
"Hurry up, Bast!" My mom demands. She pushes me into my room. I stand in the middle room, and watch her rush down stairs.
"huff" I walk to the window overlooking the gates. Hundreds of Kias are battling below. I sigh and play with the gold ribbon running up my arm. Because as you can see this is not an abnormal occurrence at the temple of the sun.
(A little over view on the short story. This story illustrates why when Bast was younger she did not like her mane. Though as she grew older she became to think of her mane as a symbol of what she now is. I added in little parts like "mirrorless vanity", her father Ra ((I don't have his name in the story)), the temple of the suns, and the gold ribbon to tie back into text I have written in different parts of this fourm. I also wanted to show how she grew up in a very violent place for a young child. She learned to grow strong, which is now one of her most noticeable properties. I truly hope you enjoyed the story, I'm sorry for the bad story writing, its not my strong suit)

Interview
(Bast is in black and the interviewer is in orange)Hello and welcome Bast! I trust that you are
enjoying your self? Why hello, and yes I am. Thank you for asking.
We should probably start off with the basics, how old are you?Coming up on five, which is incidentally my favourite number.
Really I would have guessed you to be older!Yes, I get that quite alot.
Next question, I think we are all wondering about your
electric green mane, tell us about it.Ummm, where to start? Well I'm obviously not responsible for the existence
of my mane, so I can't say much there. For a long time I really disliked my
mane. It seemed out of place, like it didnt belong. Over the years it for
some reason seemed to suit me more. When I was younger I was VERY
onlycoloursinsidethelines kinda girl, but as I grew older I became a bit
more "rebellious". Well compared to how I use to be.
Ahhh... Interesting. So do you still "dislike" your mane? No, not any more
Very good. Now, do you have any crushes or anyone you
have an eye for?No, I do not .//n//. But some day I hope that there could be
I see. Just to set the record, are you straight, homosexual,
bisexual...?Straight, don't get me wrong I have nothing against other sexualitys
No don't worry. I have heard some where that
you are afraid of mirrors, is that just a rumour or do you have anything
to say about it?I would rather pass on that question.
Are you sure, do you--No, I would rather not talk about that
Ok ok... Is there anything you would like to end off
the interview with Bast? Nothing in particular... actually yes I would. I would love to train a hawk.
Really? Any reason why?Ummm, I guess just because they are probably the most beautiful
animals that currently exist, well at least in my books.
Well it has been very nice talking to you Bast,
I hope that you are lucky and find a perfect ownerSame here, bye!

Greatest Weakness
Well Bast is not as fearless as you might come to think she is.
She has a very very big fear, on that has been called by some physicians as a "extreme, life
impairing phobia". Though you might find it silly or insignificant, it is very hard on Bast to
accept it. Bast suffers from a phobia called catoptrophobia, which is the fear of mirrors.
She, even doesn't know what caused it but it has always seemed to be there, ever since
she was young.

Why Her?
Wow this surprisingly is hard to answer, I guess there are too many reasons.
By now I have tried out for countless Kiamaras, never lucky enough to win ones heart. Though I have to say she is by far the most beautiful Kiamara I have ever laid eyes on. Also she is the first Kiamara that I haven't messed up the markings when I drew her. When I first saw her I saw strength, pride, and on top of all that, beauty. She is a stunner, that's for sure. I have never felt as strong of a connection as I feel with this Kiamara. What I have been looking for in a Kia is markings that I can draw, a connection between her and me, and a strong heart. I feel that anyone who sees her sees strength, even without looking at her personality. Because of all these reasons, and many more (too many to write) Bast is my dream Kiamara. If I had the luck to win her, she would be my first Kiamara as well. Thank you very much for reading my form, good luck on choosing the winner of this Kiamaras heart.

Small Secrets ~Bast has a crush for Kia #275 (but she won't emit it...yet)
~When she was younger she was afraid of hawks, once she overcame that fear she realized how much she liked them
~Bast hates her full name (Bastet). And much prefers the short form (Bast). So many Kiamaras believe that Bast is her real name
