Username:
PoisonedApple but you can call me Pois :3 I decided to tell everything after this in his point of view so I hope that's alright ^^ Bolded are 'her the human' (me) talking and with the color is Theós talking and italics are Theós thinking. The male with me is the pilot/guide. I might do some edits later. Also; Sorry if it's too long or confusing :c
Name:
Theós. It was given to me by my human and she told me it means Lord or something like that in one of the other human languages, Greek I think? And she does calls me 'her little lord' so I guess that's my name.. Right?
Gender:
I'm certainly a male.
Short story:
I'm going to tell you the story of how I met my human. It's my favorite to tell so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
A series of thudding and a high pitch laughing suddenly jolted me awake, forcing me to my paws faster than I can remember. What was that? I thought, whipping my head around while flattening my ears back. On gentle paws I made my way to the safety of a thick tree, feeling my fur prickle with excitement each step. Would I get to chase another animal? Or maybe it was another Hoverfox, being forced away to find more food since it was so little at the ocean. As I peered around the side of the tree, a sharp clicking noise behind me caught my attention. With little haste, I whipped around to find myself faced with two towering beasts. The one, seemed like they could care less while the other stared down at me, its beady eyes locking with mine. Humans. I remembered the name of the creatures from stories told as a child. I had only seen one when I was a teen, hovering around the trees like a goof and the human was running from me but this was different. From what I've heard they liked to take us home with them, keep us as pets. There was no way I was doing that. I was about to turn and run when the human staring down made that irritating clicking noise. I backed up a little, wincing as the noise rang through my ears. The human seemed to take notice because it immediately stopped and started to whisper something. "Come here, I won't hurt you." It said in a soft voice, kneeling down to eye level and stretching out a hand towards me. I jumped back a few more feet but that's when I noticed the object in the hand. I almost forgot what it was it'd been so long since I had one. It was a large, slimy fish that must've been caught earlier that morning. She shook it gently, I think it was a female human, and I watched as the silver-red scales glistened. It smelled delicious, and it really couldn't hurt to take a bite. I approached cautiously, tilting my head to one side as I watched the human's movement's carefully. She held the fish tight and sat on the ground, folding her two legs underneath her. I jumped slightly but relaxed after a second. "It's okay little guy." She whispered again as I sniffed the fish. She gently placed it on the ground in front of me and then just sat there, watching me. I wanted to take the fish and run but it was a gift, and the human didn't seem all that bad. So there I stood, quietly eating my gift fish. The human turned and quietly began to chatter with the other human. "Why's he so far from the water?" I heard over my chewing. The other human, I think it was a male, sighed and shook his head before turning and began walking away. I watched how she would react to her companion leaving but it was as though she didn't register it at all. I suddenly felt more comfortable, less nervous and relaxed. I lay down, my side gently brushing against her legs in the process. As I began to finish off the rest of the fish, I felt something touch my shoulder and the sudden rush to run pitted itself in my stomach again. I stopped eating and stared at her through the corner of my eye, quickly shuffling out of her reach. I watched her face as I started to eat the fish again but I was surprised to see her still smiling, gently placing her hands on her legs. After I finished the fish, I felt the longing for more and let out a small whimper. I flinched as she reached out her hand again and I almost prepared to run. But then the sweet scent of fruit wafted over me and brought me to my senses. She held out a small red fruit, gently waving it towards me. I shuffled on my stomach towards her but kept a fair distance. Stretching my neck out, I gently nibbled at the fruit, never taking my eyes off of her. After I finished off the fruit, I licked the stray juice droplets from my mouth. She's not that bad... I thought, inching a little closer. I wanted to smell her for some reason, understand her scent. She stayed still, her hand still extended as she watched with a smile. She smelled nice. Like that bean that falls on my head in the windy season. Cocoa bean I think it was called. "Theós." She said quietly, reaching her other hand up to scratch behind my ear. I flinched for a moment but didn't move away. It felt relaxing, to the point that I felt my eyes begin to droop and my head begin to bob until I finally gave in and rest my head on her leg. Humans aren't that bad. I thought happily, inhaling her sweet cocoa scent as the hand scratched my ear. I eventually found myself dozing off. I dreamed of fish, fruit and cocoa beans. The human was there and we were both fishing. I'm not sure how long I slept for but what finally woke me up was her gently standing up, trying not to wake me. But she didn't know I was a light sleeper. It had gotten darker and I guessed she had to return to whoever that male human was but here's the strange thing, I didn't want her to go. I wanted to be pet more, engulfed in that cocoa smell everyday, eat fish and sleep. I slowly stood up as well and stared up at her. She smiled and gently scratched the top of my head. "Goodnight Theós." She said softly before turning and walking away, leaving me standing in the darkness. "No." I huffed aloud, only to myself though as she was engulfed in the darkness. I refused to let her leave me alone. I wanted to be pet more and I wasn't about to be left alone again. I took off into the darkness after her yipping loudly as I went, I refused to give up on finding the kind human and besides, I was still hungry and she somehow provided me with fish. It wasn't until early the next morning did I find her, on the edge of the forest with a large metal flying creature that her companion was loading boxes into. "Hey!" I snorted, trying to get her attention. I wasn't sure how she heard it but she heard something and turned, staring straight at me until finally locking eyes with me again. She smiled and waved at me but didn't move any farther. Why wouldn't she be more excited to see me. I started to move out of the trees I had called home and towards her, glancing over my shoulder to watch as I distanced myself from the edge. Once I was only a few feet away from her I jogged forward and nudged up against her leg, always keeping one eye on the trees. She laughed, different than the one I heard the other day, and gently began petting me. "Hello, Theós. It's time for me to go home." She said quietly, a pang of sadness in her tone as she scratched behind my ears. The male human grumbled something to her, and she turned to look at him. They whispered some things that I couldn't hear with a few gestures towards me and then the forest. She suddenly held up a hand and pulled some weird things out of one of those strange pouches on her leg. They looked like a leaves that had been cut carefully all the same shape and were stranger colors than leaves. For what reason would he need leaves? She started to hand them to the male human till he finally looked pleased and walked away towards the flying creature. She sighed and turned to look at me, a smile on her face. "Come on Theós, we're going to go home now with vast oceans and plenty of fruit." She said softly, gently patting my forehead and walking after the other human. Fruit and fish everyday, cocoa scents all the time. It sounded great but still, I just stood there, in that open patch of land, so vulnerable and far from the trees. I looked back at the trees for a moment. If that isn't home, what is? I thought sadly, staring at them for a moment. Then I heard that familiar word. "Theós?" What did it mean? Why did she always say it? She was watching me, still smiling as she stood half in half out of the flying creature. I am Theós, and I'm going home. I decided before bolting into a run with a smile, towards the flying machine and my new human who would take me home.
