I would never draw him as another species. I really hate it when people do that, anyway, I just don't see the point of saying "oh, my 'sona's an otter" and then drawing him/her as a wolf or somesuch nonsense. I always do my best to keep characters as close to their original design, and I completely understand if you don't want him drawn in any other way.

I just find it easier to draw characters as anthro, rather than quad. I haven't really started yet other than drawing the basic outline, and I can edit that for one of my other characters.

Ahh I'm so glad you understand and didn't throw a rampage as most people would.

It's just very frustrating spending time on this and then it being changed.
And yes, I've sen people do that a lot, I have too at some point, but I mean if you go to the trouble of searching through every inch of your soul to see what animal is right for you, why draw it as anything else?, as you said.

So just to clarify:

He could be an anthro Whelkan (walking on two legs) as long as it is still clearly a Whelkan? Or must he stay quad (walking on four legs). In my sketch, he still has the horns and hooves and is still clearly recognizable as a Whelkan, apart from the fact that he's anthro, not quad.

And I'd love to see more art of him, I was planning to do some too.

Why would I be upset? I understand how someone would be, but I don't see the point. 'sonas really should stay in one form, anyway. I've finished his first piece of art, but I kept an .xcf of it so that I could color the lines for anyone else who wants it. I'll post it in a sec.
