Name- Manabu (Japanese for "studious)
Gender- Male
Personality- He is very smart and loves to learn new things. For example, he sometimes looks around in the sky or on the ground to find new bugs or birds that he doesn't know the name of. He knows the names of many creatures and plants, but he is very shy and doesn't usually share his knowledge with anyone unless they ask. He is very quick on his feet, for if he wasn't, he'd never be able to study birds in flight, or creatures on the move.
History- He started out as a normal JBD, his mom cared for him well. During the winter when he was born, Manabu's mother wouldn't let him outside, fearing he would get a cold. He was really curious, and hoping each day that the frost would end and he could go outside. Finnaly, when the frost did end, he was given permission to go outside. Manabu had never seen anything like this, the green, lush grasses; the clear, blue sky; and the bright, shining sun.. But then, he heard it. He heard a sound he had never heard before, the sound of a bird chirping. Wondering what it was, he followed the sound to the source of it. There, standing in front of him, well, more like
flying above him, was a bluebird.
It looks so weird.. I wonder what it is.. Manabu thought happily. He decided that he wanted to see it more closely. He tried climbing up the tree. He tried jumping into the sky where it was. He tried asking it nicely to come down. Nothing worked. Manabu just ran after it, trying to see if eventually he could catch it to watch it. Manabu thought he would never catch it. Just then, he saw a beautiful flower in front of him. It was a beautiful red color, and he stopped to look at it. Manabu decided just then that he would learn the names of all the creatures. He wanted to go back and tell his mom the same thing.
Okay, I'll just go back and tell her! Yay! Momma will be so excited! Manabu thought. But just then he realized that he had followed the bird so far that he couldn't remember how to get back. He assumed his mother had followed him, but this was not true. He was alone. He had no company except for the birds, squirrels and flowers.. But they didn't talk to him. They just flew or ran away. And the flowers, they stood completely still, not acknowledging his existence at all. He was afraid. He called out to his momma several times, each failing. For he had strayed too far away for his momma to hear him. Manabu thought,
I know! I'll find somebody that will listen to me! They know where Momma is! And so he studied all the creatures, plants, and even the stars, hoping he would find someone who knew where his momma was.
Story- Manabu yawned and got up. He was very tired from chasing a raja brooke (type of butterfly) the previous day. He had followed it up hills, down cliffs, through rivers, and through meadows of flowers. His legs were sore from all the running, but he forced himself to get up anyways. He looked outside.
Still dark.. But it won't be long 'till sunrise. Manabu walked outside, admiring the veiw from the outside of the small rock cavern he had slept in. it was on a cliff, and his veiw was perfect. He could see nearly
anything from where he was. Manabu's stomach growled loudly. He decided to find something to eat. Manabu spied an apple tree nearby.
Mmm.. My favorite! he thought. He jogged towards it but then stopped in his tracks. The raja brooke was also in the tree. He studied it until it flew away, then had some apples.
This is going to be a great day, I can't wait to catch that raja brooke. Maybe it knows where my mother is. And so after breakfast he stood up and started chasing the butterfly. (sorry that it's kinda bad but I didn't have much inspiration. Might change this later)
