Name:
Jelly
Gender:
Male
Age:
Teenager
Personality:
Jelly is a very shy jellybean dragon, and prefers to keep things to himself. He is not known to be a social butterfly, and is much more likely to shut in his feelings than pour them out to you. Despite being shy and secluded, he has a kind heart. He loves helping others, but is unlikely to help unless he is asked to; he would not ever dream of forcing his services onto someone. He can sometimes come off as a coward, and will always, always, always back down from a challenge. He is very sensitive, and is not afraid to cry. Since he is so terribly sensitive, he thinks very lowly of himself and has little to no self-esteem. In addition to being kind, one of Jelly's best attributes is being honest. Just like Abe Lincoln, Jelly just cannot tell a lie. In general, Jelly is kind of like... a butterfly. Likely to shy away if you reach out for him, but if you give him time, he will flutter onto your nose and give you butterfly kisses all over. :'D
Story:
A soft breeze ruffled the leaves that hung high in the trees, turning their noses up at the spritely young spirit that trod underneath the shade of the magnificent oak. The tree was strong and grand, with branches that reached out to comfort all living creatures that came for it's ancient wisdom.
Despite this, the oak hardly ever got visitors; he was located at the top of the highest hill for miles in every direction. Nobody seemed to have time to even bother trying to scale the small slope to be in the company of a tree, anyways. But there was one soul that did have time to interlope with a tree- he would much rather spend time with this particular tree as opposed to the fairest maiden in the land.
This particular soul was visiting the tree even then, in it's final dying hour. It's trunk was ravaged by disease and cancer, large cankers bubbling up from underneath the bark to warn every passerby of the trees inevitable fate. He clutched the tree, and held it close to his breast which rose and fell with each breath.
"Mighty oak, why must you leave me?"
The young dragon cried out, his eyes clenching shut in anguish. He knew he would not have an answer, but still he pressed on.
"You are the only one who understands, what will I do when you are gone?"
The tree listened to the young one's sobs, and it felt pity in it's heart for the dragon's grief. By then, most of the oak tree's leaves and seeds had fallen off, even though it was only the beginning of summer.Despite this, there was still one living bunch of acorns that clung to the tree's branches. The tree released them, and they clattered to the earth beside the dragon.
Take these my boy,
the tree wheezed weakly.
...take them and plant them, and know that even though I am gone, I am still with you.
The tree watched solemnly as the young dragon released his trunk, and picked up the acorns as if he were holding priceless relics, and at that moment the tree knew that he understood. The young dragon clutched the acorns tightly, whispering a prayer of thanks to the tree, and the tree knew that it was the dragon's final goodbye.
Fact about JBD:
Even though his design is based off of a lion, Jelly is much more like a lamb.
