Story:
Sunburst trotted obediently behind her owner. It was a normal day, and her owner was taking her with her to do some errands. When they got to a grocery store, Sunburst's owner tied her outside. "I'll be right back" her owner, who's name was Ms. Butterworth, said. Sunburst sighed and lay down. It was a hot day, and Sunburst was panting. A man walked by and saw Sunburst. "Poor thing". He said, poring some water into a cup for Sunburst. Sunburst smiled at him and lapped up the water. When she was finished drinking, Sunburst spotted something. It glinted in the sun and sparkled like glitter. Suddenly, a crow flew by with something sparkling grasped in it's claws. Sunburst couldn't help herself. She strained on her leash until it snapped, and followed the crow. She followed it for miles until she came to a shady forest. When the crow saw Sunburst, it gave a startled squawk, dropped the shiny thing in a bush, and flew off. Sunburst jumped into the bush and found the shiny thing. It was an earring! She grabbed it with her teeth and took off.
A half an hour later, Sunburst found that she had been going in circles. "Oh, no!" She gasped. "I'm lost!"

Sunburst sat down and began to cry. The earring dropped out of her mouth and into a mouse hole. A minute later, a mouse appeared, the earring on it's head. "Lose this?" He asked, dropping it at Sunburst's paws. "Yeah, thanks." She said wearily. The mouse noticed Sunburst seemed upset. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Oh, little mouse," Sunburst sobbed, "I'm lost. I chased the grow who had the earring and now I'm lost!"
Sunburst put her head in her paws and sniffled. "Don't cry." The mouse said. "I'll help you find your way home." Sunburst looked up. "Y-you would do that for me?" She asked, sniffling. "Of course!" the mouse said, climbing onto Sunburst's head. "Oh, my name is Oscar. What's yours?" Oscar asked. "I'm Sunburst." Sunburst said. Oscar nodded. "First, we need to get out of the forest." He said. "Follow the row of maples on your left, turn right at the fifth one, and you are out of the woods." Sunburst nodded and followed his instructions. Soon, the two were walking down a sidewalk.

It had been a whole day since Sunburst had been lost. She was hungry, thirsty, and tired. "Oscar, where are we going?" She asked. "To bakers street. The lady who works at the bakery there is always giving animals special treats" he said, then cried "there it is!"
They walked into the bakery and a kind lady gave them a few tarts. "Poor things," she said, "you must be lost." She also gave them some water, and then they hurried off. "Hey! I know this store!" Sunburst cried, running over to a plant nursery. "I went with my owner to get some pansy plants a couple days ago!" Sunburst started running. "Not so fast!" Oscar said, clinging onto one of Sunburst's horns. "Sorry," Sunburst said, "but I know which way is home!" Sunburst ran for miles, but finally she was home. She ran up to the door and pressed the doorbell with her nose. Ms. Butterworth answered the door, her eyes red as if she had been crying. "My baby!" She cried, and started sobbing. She hugged Sunburst, and Sunburst introduced her owner to Oscar. Ms. Butterworth welcomed Oscar into the family, and then Sunburst showed her owner the earring she found. "Oh, my! you found my lost earring!" Ms. Butterworth cried, clipping the earring onto her right ear, and from then on Sunburst and Oscar continued to have adventures.
