LOVE BUG PROMPT (671 words)
Diana's love for Amari started when they met. Their meeting wasn't the most smooth sailing thing in the world, but it gave Diana something to keep going as a pirate for. They met while both hunting for the same piece of treasure, a heart scale all the way out in the northern reef. Diana never thought anyone would make their way out there for a small little piece of treasure, and deemed it an easy mission with little to know competition, as that wasn't quite her cup of tea. Except, Amari had her sights on this scale too, knowing she could sell it to a milotic merchant for a hefty price. So as Diana and her crew reached the northern cove, so did Amari's. Amari, headstrong and competitive, was ready to do anything to get this scale, while Diana, laidback and easygoing, spent her time enjoying the moment and didn't have a care in the world about really finding this scale.
"I'm getting that scale, you hear me?" Amari scowled, furrowing her brows at the other brionne who was already (and quite lazily) searching the reefs floor. Diana only shrugged, "Works for me, didn't really care about the scale anyways, I just needed something to do." Amari scoffed at her response, swimming up to her furiously, "Are you insane? You're a pirate! Why aren't you acting like one?" She spat, and Diana looked up at her with raised brows, "Like that's any of your business. But y'know, if you're really all on this 'real pirate' junk, then you should probably keep up with me or I'm going to find that scale first, darling."
Diana did indeed find the scale first, winking at the furious pink brionne before tossing her the scale, telling her this adventure was fun and she looked forward to more of their little meetings. Little did Amari know, Diana had the feeling of butterflies in her chest the whole time during that treasure hunt.

Amari's love for Diana developed later than Diana's for Amari. The shiny brionne started getting those feelings after the two had merged crews and set aside their 'rivalry' (rivalry on Amari's side). Diana had been on the deck of their pirate ship, watching the sunset alone before Amari had stepped out, free of her captain duties. They didn't say much that night, but Amari remembers Diana's response to her most pondered question quite clearly.
"You know, you still never told me why you don't act like a 'real' pirate. When I questioned you during our first meeting over that stupid heart scale." Amari asked out of the blue, and Diana looked at her for a moment before sighing. "I was born into this life, and It wasn't really something I grew up enjoying. My father was the leader of his own crew and my mother..." She paused, shaking her head, "I just felt like if I didn't grow up into what my father wanted me to be, I'd have nobody left in my family who would appreciate me. I'm not competitive, I'm not a treasure hunter, I'm not loud or able to lead my own crew. I just like the ocean, I like the breeze and the pokemon, the beautiful plants and the sandy beaches." Diana responded, giving Amari a small smile, "I thought if I took on that heart scale hunt, It would pull me back into being what a pirate truly is, but in all honesty, it was you who pulled me back in. The silly rivalry we had going gave me something to look forward to because it was...different." Amari looked at her, eyes slightly going wide as Diana kept speaking, "You made me want to become the pirate I was born to be because I wasn't proving myself to anyone, I was just being me."
Amari had felt her cheeks start to heat up as Diana gave her a warm smile, and she knew that Diana was a pokemon she would want to spend the rest of her life with.
