prompt;; I'd like to give some appreciation to my best friend. We met around two and a half years ago online. I've had a lot of previously very negative friendships and relationships, which have left their mark on me and made me very naturally suspicious of others. I'm not capable of making fast friends, or feeling any genuine care or interest for others until I have known them, closely, for an extended period of time, and I was pretty sure that - despite his determination - he was not going to stick around to befriend me.

But he did.

Several months of talking to me, pushing the boundaries until they tensed and then pushing a little more the next day, trying, making genuine and constant effort, and eventually I started giving a little back, too, because I was able to, then.

He has had an overwhelmingly positive impact in my life and supports me constantly, even though I can be difficult to love. And he doesn't think it's difficult. I help him, too. Have supported him through some of the worst parts of his life, and the biggest changes. We support each other.

We made a big TTRPG world together, which rules. And I'm so excited to see what the next few years have in store for our friendship. I'm really glad we got to meet.
