he slowly walked down the street, getting closer to his destination. his palms slicked with sweat, even he could tell he was nervous. he took a deep breath. it would be fine. she seemed nice enough, there was nothing to worry about. he exhaled slowly, and continued on. soon he came up to the little house he had come to know so well. the house that held so many memories. and after tonight, would hopefully hold so many more. he stood there, the breeze rustling through the grass around him. it should’ve been peaceful, but he was too worried to notice.

You knock on the door. There is no response. You check the address to confirm this was the right place and knock on the door again. On the other side of the door, you hear a clash, hurried footsteps, and finally, the door opens. A pink and fuchsia kalon opens the door, they seem to hunch over slightly and are somewhat out of breath. After a while they look at you and smile, opening the door to invite you in. You shake your head and remind them what you're here for, but they insist by grabbing your wrist and pulling you inside.

The inside of their home is well decorated, but there are valentine-themed decorations on top of their usual decor. They pull you through their kitchen and into a room lit up by pink candles and covered in various plants. In the middle of the room sat a small table and two folding chairs. The table had a white table cloth on it and was clearly set for dinner. The kalon pulled out one of the chairs and offered you a seat. You tried to kindly decline, feeling awkward for interrupting their dinner but they insisted once more. You look on the side of the table and notice a broken glass and the kalon sheepishly kicked it under the tablecloth. Once sitting down, they picked up the wine bottle sitting in the middle and offered you a drink. You kindly declined, pointing out the fact that your glass was missing. A look of horror and embarrassment came over their face as they withdrew their arms and quietly filled their own glass.

They took a small, dignified sip and composed themself once more. They held out their hands and asked for what you came to bring them. You handed over the box, which they placed in the middle of the table, and opened it up. It was a box of pizza. They served themself a slice and then offered one to you, but you declined again saying you didn't like peanut butter and pineapple pizza. They looked a little upset as they took a bite of their pizza and dabbed their mouth with a cloth napkin. They looked at you and requested you leave as they didn't like the negative energy you brought.

As you left, you realized why your coworkers weren't as eager to make the delivery.

Ares chuckled, shaking their head. "You're late."

Razille sighed, glancing at his best friend. "I mean... I didn't have a lot of time to prepare? And I'm only a couple minutes late."

Ares shook their head, pulling their mask over their face. "No matter. Are you ready? We only have another hour before the guards return, and once they do they'll immediately notice the cameras."

Razille nodded, donning his disguise. Ares spun on their heel while rummaging through their pockets, pulling out their lockpick set. Quickly unlocking the door, they stood back, allowing Razille to go through first. Following their date, they began to explain their plan in a hushed tone.

"I've been scouting this place for a while, and I've got the perfect route to maximize our haul. We have to be extremely careful, the security in this place is good but if we watch what we do the alarms shouldn't go off until we've got everything. We're going this way first."

The two crept into the room, staring at the beautiful jewelry behind the glass. Rubbing their hands together, Ares pulled a key out of their pocket, unlocking the case. "Wh- How did you get that?!" Razille whispered, awestruck.

"Like I told you, I've been scouting this place. Managed to swap a random key with one of the managers and had one of my... associates copy it before anyone noticed anything. Dropped the original off and made sure that the manager got it back, made them think that their key ring broke or... something. Sadly doesn't unlock the door we came through."

Razille stared, stars in his eyes. "Wow... Um, I mean! Cool! Yeah, cool." He coughed, clearing his throat. "Anyways, let's do this." The two split up, quickly grabbing everything could get their hands on. After clearing out the room, they met back at their starting point before Razille stumbled and set off an alarm. Freezing, he glanced at Ares, before they chuckled.

"Well... Good thing we got most of what we came for." Winking at Razille, Ares ran towards the door they entered from. "We'll split up for now, to hide our haul in the designated locations, but meet me at our café across town in two hours! We'll continue our date there!"

"Okay!" Razille shouted, blush high on his face, descending the roof before freezing. "...WAIT, THIS WAS A DATE?!"

'Ding', Eli looked up at the golden bell rattling against the door frame, another happy couple hand in hand following the waiter to be seated for a candle light dinner. The couple was seated by the waiter next to his table, seeing him there they gave a small greeting. He gave a forced smile as he saw their eyes glance over the empty seat in front of him, glimpses of pity on their faces. He looked down at his plate, an apple pie with pastry hearts covering the top, then glanced to the empty plate of the seat in front of him, he must seem very lonely to them. Hours and hours past, he watched as the day turned to night, snowflakes even pattering down past the window by his seat. The candle on his table had already burnt out only the smoldering wicker remaining.

New people came, old left, and him, he remained alone at the table. Eventually the swinging of the door stopped and customers dwindled in their numbers until he alone remained. Tapping his fork to his plate he just waited, patiently and silently. "Eli!", a great voice cried out from behind disturbing the silence. A great smile lit up his face as he turned towards a stumbling kalon leaving the kitchen door. The kalon realised he'd been quite loud and gave a sheepish laugh. In embarrassment his face was covered with a thin layer of red blush as he realised he was still wearing his chef's apron. Whipping it off and throwing it to the counter he went up to Eli grabbing his hand pulling him off the seat. Mumbling 'sorry' for working late, he dragged Eli out the restaurant doors. Not looking back to realise Eli had a gentle smile on his lips. Giving a small chuckle as he looked down at their joined hands, he thought to himself, he didnt mind waiting.
