Personality:
When Yuletide (Yule for short) was a young viscling, he dreamed often of exploration and grandeur. Curiosity was his middle name, and Yule was often worrying his parents by going off on his own, looking for new mysteries or creatures to discover in the barren land of snow and ice that he called home. However, this curiosity didn't last long. Through the helpful words of a kind stranger on the road away from home, he came to realize that the cold land of the north was his true calling. Suppressing his wanderlust, Yule agreed to follow the she-cet back to where he had come from.
Once home, Yule was much more mature than he had once been. He directed his curiosity toward something that the strange viscet he'd met would continuously talk about while she escorted him back to his family; the study and service of the deities that were said to govern the world. Yule dove into the books of lore and legend, trawling up what information he could find about his patron deity; the Frozen King, said to be the embodiment of ice and snow. Once he felt prepared, Yule took the entrance test at a nearby temple to begin training as an emissary of His Majesty.
The training was fairly difficult, and lasted over one year. Yule saw many others come and go, and he felt proud of himself for sticking around for the time needed to become recognized by the temple. This gave him a major ego surrounding himself, and the more signs he saw and orders he was given, the more justified he felt. Unfortunately now, that's gotten so bad that he feels as though he can't be wrong. His interpretations and actions are all completely correct in his eyes, and telling him otherwise only brings an offensive response, claiming that he is simply carrying out the will of his King.
Through his blind faith and shiny new superiority complex, it's very difficult to see Yule's true personality. His initial impression is usually enough to make most viscets turn around and walk away. Though, if you can sit through a lesson on the Frozen King and a boast fest about what he's accomplished, you can tell that Yule is honestly afraid to delve deeper into his mind and share his true self. It's not that he's ashamed of it, per se, but rather, he thinks that everything he's done pales in comparison to the duties he's sworn to uphold. To him, the quiet, scholarly side of him is the one to keep in the dark. He prefers to be seen as some immovable pillar used to bring glory to His Majesty rather than a mortal viscet with likes and dislikes, needs and wants. If one really wants to see the true Yule, they would have to sneak around and spy on him when he's alone.
Loneliness can cut through even the thickest disguise. When Yule is out on his own, he can be very different from the facade he shows to others. Even in the midst of his crusade, a sliver of the curiosity that initially set him apart as a viscling can be seen. Yule has gotten more than just a fright many times when the allure of a dark cave or a shadowy forest pulls him in. Instead of learning from his mistakes, Yule attempts to better himself so that he can overcome the obstacles that come with his decision-making. He often trains diligently well into the night, letting the cold northern winds carry a melody from his muzzle as he strives to keep his morale up.
Yule handles stress fairly well, and knows that's part of the reason he does well in his emissary position. He thinks quickly, and acts quicker; oftentimes biting off a bit more than he can chew, but he always holds faith in that everything will be alright in the end. Of course, like most living things, his faith can be shaken and broken. Feeling threatened and under too much stress, Yule may break down and attempt to remove himself from the situation by any means necessary. This includes leaving others behind and abandoning important missions and posts for the sake of self-preservation. He's slowly coming to terms with the fact that this is just a part of who he is, and that he may not be wholly good (though he still believes that he's wholly right).
Many things that are said to Yule seem to be brushed off in the moment, and while it may seem as though he's forgotten it, Yule often finds the ghostly echoings of criticism clouding his mind when he's alone. This is, in part, where he gets most of his boastful stories, as he finds himself needing to give at least one example of something heroic or dutiful that he's done in order to counter the complaints of upset viscets bouncing around his mind. Or, as another option, he turns the criticism to a focus, using it to inspire his training to boost his strength and become an all-around better viscet that won't be forced to make the same cowardly mistakes that muddle his thoughts. Self-betterment is one of Yule's top priorities, and that much is obvious to others, as even when he has company, Yule finds time to practice and may even ask for his guest to act as a sparring partner.

Responsibility:
Through years of training, Yule has become an emissary of the Frozen King; an ice-based deity that is worshiped throughout the northern tundras and mountains. As an emissary, it's Yule's job to interpret the whispers and signs that the Frozen King gives to those who serve him. Yule also is bound to help anyone who is having trouble crossing the snowy terrain, as it doesn't affect him like it does other viscets that don't have the icy mutation native to the region he was born. Unfortunately, the Frozen King is a war-hungry deity, and will occasionally press Yule to defend the frozen north from the explorers wanting to learn more about the barren land, rather than help. He doesn't particularly enjoy these orders, but carries them out dutifully and trusts that His Majesty knows what's best for the lands he calls home.

Relationships:
Eris - As a fellow emissary, Yule has a lot of respect for everything Eris does and stands for. In fact, it was Eris' influence that motivated Yule to become an emissary himself! Almost immediately after his training to serve the Frozen King was finished, he set out from his village to save those in need in the name of His Majesty. In his travels, he's bumped into Eris many times, and always thanks for inspiring him to take on the role of an icy protector. However, Eris always seems a bit off put by his tales of where the Frozen King has sent him; averting her eyes and keeping her responses short. Yule doesn't understand this, and always tries to add unreal flair to his stories to impress her, though these always fall flat the second he mentions the one he is bound to serve.

    Username: ~Prophecy~
    Name: Hop-Scotch
    Gender: Male
Personality: Living in the Human world with a human companion, Scotch is a lot less aggressive and free than most Viscets are. His Master has the patient understanding he really needs. He doesn’t like being in uncomfortable situations or around sudden or loud noises. He is one to stick to Master and stay with master, not interacting with other Viscets. Coincidentally, Master is also like this- she has severe Anxiety. The two are nearly inseparable, doing everything together and facing challenges. Scotch will try to do everything he can to make Master happy, but doesn't have so much loyalty towards other humans unless Master has given him special commands. Scotch is rule following, obedient Viscet, but may be a little shy when doing certain things.
Years ago, the day came when mama's companion had to sell me along with the other Viscet batches. Eyes examined the crowds of us everday, but finally a messy-haired man pointed at me- said that his daughter would adore me. The man left, and I waited impatiently until he finally came back days later! He took me to their home; I was unsure of the new place. He planted me under their indoor-tree though. I watched their gaze as pounding footsteps came from somewhere else. I whipped my head around, frightened from a shriek. A small girl, only around 12 grabbed ahold of me and was screaming out thankyouthankyouthankyou! "So this was my new companion," I had questioned at the time. Now it's that time of year again where they have colored boxes under their indoor tree. My Master and I's first "Christmas" alone in her new home.

I jumped in master's car and laid down on my favorite blanket. I may not have won the biggest show of my life, but I am taking home a bronze trophy. Competing was never a thing we did seriously, we did it for fun to bond- so bronze was amazing. Getting groomed before we went out was nice, but Master looked nervous. She feared for nothing- I don't understand. Since I am an unusually small Viscet, Master again got a negative comment about me from the judge, but that is all. Master seemed upset about the comment. I did my best, doing everything I was told. Master did her best in the show too- she wasn't as shaky as she usually is.

a hound chased a rabbit, but gave up after a long run.
a shepherd who watched came up to the hound and said,
"the rabbit is the better runner." the hound replied,
      "i only ran for dinner.
      he ran for his life."
